Chapter 50 Cloud Dragon
Chapter 50 Cloud Dragon
Three days later, Zhao Sheng felt the temperature inside the cave rise rapidly.
He knew the cold wave had passed.
So, he stood up and walked outside.
Moments later, a pile of rubble beside a mountain wall on the slope was pushed aside, and Zhao Sheng emerged from the cave.
However, the next moment, his spirit was greatly shocked, and his body suddenly stiffened.
At this moment, his gaze was directly meeting the slowly rising head of a giant ape at the edge of the slope.
Disaster!
I'm going to die!
Zhao Sheng internally screamed in panic.
The giant ape he was staring at was quite familiar to him.
In his previous life, he had witnessed its fierce power more than once.
Naturally born with four arms and unrivalled divine power, it was indeed a Four-Armed Fierce Ape with the strength of Foundation Establishment.
But as the massive body of the Four-Armed Fierce Ape emerged like a giant elephant, Zhao Sheng breathed a sigh of relief, just relieved it didn't attack immediately.
He knew this type of fierce beast well; as long as one didn't provoke it, and depending on if it had eaten, the Four-Armed Fierce Ape generally wouldn't launch an attack on its own.
Now, it appeared the fierce ape harbored no intention to kill.
But one thing was very strange.
Why did he feel that the fierce ape's eyes were filled with fear?
It was as if it were afraid of him.
As that thought lingered, Zhao Sheng suddenly felt a darkness above him, and in the blink of an eye, a large shadow appeared on the ground.
The next second, Zhao Sheng's eyes widened in shock.
Above the head of the Four-Armed Fierce Ape, a silver giant claw suddenly pressed down. The claw had four toes, each with sharp nails sharp as knives.
This claw was extremely large. The ape's head was already as large as a washbasin, but the five long, sharp claws still effortlessly enclosed the giant head.
With just a gentle squeeze, the fierce ape let out no sound as its head burst into pieces.
Red and white mixed blood plasma sprayed out, the blood from the neck of the Four-Armed Fierce Ape shot up two yards high, splashing a large patch on the ground.
The smell of blood instantly permeated the air, and Zhao Sheng's breathing abruptly stopped.
At that moment, an extremely massive body slowly appeared in his sight.
The first thing to appear was a huge head
The body of the Four-Armed Fierce Ape was as large as a giant elephant, but this head was even larger by a measure.
Let alone the massive body beneath the head, which appeared intermittently through the fog, stretching dozens of yards like a mountain.
The two were simply incomparable.
When Zhao Sheng eventually saw the full appearance of this giant beast, he immediately gasped in shock.
The head of this massive beast was like that of a camel, with a broad forehead and a three-foot-long silver "short horn," and a crocodile-like massive mouth with fangs, thick lips bordered with two long flaps of flesh fluttering in the wind,
From the neck down, layer upon layer of silver white scales spread out, stretching down to its tail.
Besides, beneath the long body which stretched dozens of yards, grew four sturdy hind limbs like deer legs, each ending with sharp claws.
Below the massive beast, a large expanse of cloud mist swirled, as if lifting it, yet seemingly just an embellishment.
Clouds from the dragon, wind from the tiger!
Such a spectacle, only one type of powerful creature in the Cultivation World could possess.
"How could it be a Cloud Dragon! Aren't they always found only above the Fourth Level Cloud Sea?"
Zhao Sheng was incredibly frightened and almost cried out.
The Cloud Dragon was an overlord-level life form of Heavenly Pillar Mountain, each capable of rivaling a Golden Core.
It was unclear whether it was fortunate or not, but the high-level Dragon Serpent didn't care about the small insects on the slope; it merely stretched its huge body upwards, occupying most of the area.
Fortunately, the body of the Dragon Serpent was suspended in the air.
If it had been on the ground, the Sloping Spiritual Medicine Garden would have been completely destroyed, leaving Zhao Sheng nowhere to cry.
Zhao Sheng deeply regretted his carelessness.
He knew that after the cold wave, various powerful demon beasts often broke through the Cloud Sea Heavenly Gang to appear at lower levels.
Yet, he didn't pay attention and carelessly left the cave.
Now, it seemed an unforgivable mistake.
But regret was too late now; Zhao Sheng decisively suppressed any unnecessary thoughts and took small steps backward, preparing to seize the opportunity to quietly slip back into the cave.
Zhao Sheng now only hoped that the Cloud Dragon had not noticed him.
However, in the next instant, a low and majestic dragon roar exploded, sending an endless, overwhelming terror which swept towards Zhao Sheng.
With a "buzz", Zhao Sheng faced the roar at close distance, and it was like being hammered on the head by a ten-thousand-pound sledgehammer. His thoughts stalled as he didn't even have the chance to activate Bullet Time.
In that instant, he even thought his brain would burst out. His body could not bear it and was thrown backward, hitting a stone wall at the end of the slope before finally stopping.
Vomit!
After struggling to get up, Zhao Sheng felt his blood churning and couldn't help but vomit a large amount of blood filled with pink bubbles, which also contained fragments of his internal organs.
The Golden Core-Level Cloud Dragon was terrifyingly powerful; just a residual wave had seriously injured him.
Facing such a dire situation, Zhao Sheng instead calmed down.
If he must die, there's still the next life.
Barely opening his eyes, Zhao Sheng spat out the blood accumulated in his chest and stomach. He leaned against the cliff and struggled to stand up.
Meanwhile, he took out a bottle of Revitalizing Pills and, without hesitation, tilted his head back and poured the entire bottle of Elixir Pills into his mouth.
At this moment, the fog above suddenly surged continuously. Zhao Sheng abruptly turned his head, only to be dazzled once more.
He only saw dense fog descending from high above, splitting to form a narrow crack, and then a brilliant sword rainbow came breaking through the sky. At the moment the Cloud Dragon roared, it shot into the dragon's spine and disappeared.
Only then did Zhao Sheng hear a faint sound of sword chant, seemingly coming from beyond the heavens.
A miserable roar followed immediately in the dense fog.
Then, the Cloud Sea tumultuously parted, the Dragon Serpent blood-stained, a two-yard-long, bone-exposing wound split open along its back.
Zhao Sheng finally realized that someone had attacked the Cloud Dragon, and it must be an incredibly powerful figure.
While Zhao Sheng was very curious about the identity of the newcomer, that was not the point.
Without trying to discern the appearance of the newcomer, he pushed off the ground and shot like an arrow back into the cave.
Upon entering the cave, Zhao Sheng's right hand reached into his Storage Bag, and in the next second, the Small Circulation Talisman Plate appeared in his palm.
In a flash of thought, eighteen talismans on two separate levels of the plate simultaneously ignited.
Golden Armor, Water Vortex Shield, stone wall... Over a dozen Defensive Spells instantly sealed the cave entrance.
Seeing this scene, Zhao Sheng relaxed, but immediately after, his vision darkened, and he passed out.
He didn't know how much time had passed when Zhao Sheng slowly woke up, suddenly stiffening.
At that moment, a subtle fragrance entered his nostrils and lingered.
A moment later, a pleasing and melodious female voice asked, "You're awake?"
Zhao Sheng steadied his spirit, opened his eyes, and turned his head to look.
The first thing he saw was a swath of lustrous white skirt hem, weighed down by a Jade Sword at the corner of the skirt.
Moving his gaze upward, Zhao Sheng saw a plain satin ribbon lightly tied around a waist, the plain clothing embroidered with elegant and delicate patterns, details of which he could not discern at the moment.
