Chapter 2412 Ocean Heart Lily Leaves

Chapter 2412  Ocean Heart Lily Leaves

By the time Alex finished making the pill and learning everything he could from it, his assistant had already returned with his ingredients.

Alex didn't immediately take it and used the time to fully comprehend what he had learned. The nameless pill allowed the person eating it to turn the Qi inside their dantian into pure Metal Qi, allowing them to enhance every aspect of their being, from their body and cultivation to their techniques that required Metal Qi.

One would need a Metal spirit root to make use of it for the sake of techniques, but for anything else, it was not required. The pill could also be used to heal a person if they were poisoned with something that was heavy on Wood or Fire energy.

Alex quickly went through the recipe again, slowly analyzing all the steps at which the elements changed. He knew the rate at which the energy escaped the ingredients, so using that as a focus point, Alex quickly changed the recipe.

He started with the Ocean Heart Lily leaves that would swap the Soul Asper flower. He finally looked into the storage pouch he had received and was surprised for a moment to receive another set of 3 ingredients for the pill.

"Will I only receive the ingredients for the original pill when I ask for it?" he asked.

"No, you will receive them each time you request an ingredient," the assistant quickly explained. "The set of ingredients you receive will also change as you form a new recipe of your own so that you will always have what you need."

Alex raised an eyebrow. He hadn't even considered that prospect. It was nice to know he wouldn't have to ask for the pill's ingredients 5 at a time.

Once he had the ingredients, he began making the pill while using the lily leaves. Several sections of space formed within the cauldron, each of which would be a space where one of the many ingredients would be refined.

The purpose of this experiment was to check whether the ingredient's energy fit as a replacement. The powder didn't matter at this moment, so Alex quickly burned through it all until they were all pulverized, and only the energy remained at each spatial level.

Then, he began mixing the energy one layer at a time, at the same rate at which he would have to with the original recipe. Of course, not all ingredients were the same, so not all energies were the same either. But the difference was minute enough that Alex didn't need to make any changes to the recipe to mix the energies.

After mixing all 12 layers of it one after another, he was left with a thick swirling mass of energy within the cauldron.

Alex took his time to figure out whether he was correct with the ingredient or not. Once he was certain, he let Memory absorb all the energy and closed his eyes to begin forming the pill.

The noise and other forms of distractions were long since gone from Alex's surroundings, and even the assistant sat to the side, barely even breathing so as not to disturb him.

There wasn't much to change in the recipe. Alex only needed to find the right way the lily leaves would fit into the existing recipe. There was no need to fix the recipe or improve it as it was at its best version already.

It took Alex but a few minutes to find the right solution, and once he did, he formulated the new recipe by replacing the ingredients.

He opened his eyes, now aware of the solution, and began making the pill once again. Only this time, it was for real.

Alex ran through the process as quickly as he could, refining all the ingredients at once and then placing them into the cauldron. All the while, he also made sure to think about the other replacements for the ingredients in the back of his head.

Once the pill formed, he quickly pulled it out.

'97%,' Alex thought. His mind naturally went back through the process he had just done and realized where he had lost the last 3%. 'The recipe is not fully accurate.'

The fact surprised him as he had believed otherwise. Had it been a mistake?

'No, nothing here is ever really a mistake. It must've been deliberate to get us to fix the recipe before we start forming pill clouds,' Alex thought. If there was a small barrier there, then that meant crossing it would surely bring more points.

'Pill veins must garner a lot of points then,' Alex thought. He did think about fixing the pill, but he was going for speed here. He needed to replace half the ingredients as quickly as possible.

He pulled the pill out and looked toward his assistant. "I need to get this pill tested. What do I do?"

"I will take this to the ones responsible for testing," the young man said as he quickly walked up to Alex. He took out a small bottle for the pill to be put into.

"And the recipe?" Alex asked.

"You won't be asked for a recipe unless there is suspicion of a falsified report. For now, you can just tell me what ingredient it was you replaced. I will report it to them."

Alex answered the man, and he reported it. "How soon before I can request ingredients?" he asked.

The young man pointed to the sky. "You have another 42 minutes before you are allowed to request your next 5 ingredients."

Alex looked up and sighed. It had indeed not been that long since he had started, despite it feeling like it had taken him so long.

He let the young man leave and began working on the Bluelight Agar Tree flower, to see how it meshed together with the rest of the ingredients.

Since he only needed to check how well its energy could be used as a replacement for the pill, he did not need to wait for more of the lily leaves and could start immediately.

If he could continue at this rate, he was certain that he could reach the first rank within just 3 hours.
