Chapter 2416  Issue

Whitesong stepped out of the room that held the gods and walked up to a large opening that dropped all the way to the base of the tower. He took a step forward and drifted down slowly.

Others came up from below, all of whom bowed toward him as they passed. As he went down, he briefly slowed down before one of the rooms, wondering if he should call out to Starsight, who remained in there.

He had given her the order to divine what she could while remaining as close as she had here, so he was curious if she got something. But alas, had she gotten anything substantial, she would've come and delivered that message herself. So the Alchemy God could only continue falling downward.

He arrived at the base and quickly made his way toward a massive hall. The hallway was bright, filled with windows at the top that directly looked at the platform straight on.

People rushed in this hallway, all of them assistants who needed to perform their jobs quickly.

The Alchemy God finally arrived at the hall that was even more chaotic, with everyone running around him, trying to get to their place. He glanced around for a moment, making sure everything was going as designed.

Then, he noticed a person who stood up, looking at him, waiting for him to approach. So, the Alchemy God approached him.

"All right, I'm here. You mentioned there was an issue with two ingredients?" the Alchemy God asked.

"Yes," the staff member working there said, showing the Alchemy God the report that was made.

The Alchemy God looked at the report and frowned a little. He read through the replaced ingredient and didn't understand what was going on. How could the Five-Eyed Snake Scales be replaced by two ingredients?

The Alchemy God quickly looked at the names and closed his eyes. He thought of the two ingredients in the report — Spear Bamboo leaves and Twilight Gold Clover leaves — and tried to see if their combination could perhaps create the Five-Eyed Snake Scales or not.

The two ingredients were Saint ingredients, which would falter quite a few alchemists, especially the talented ones. As someone talented in cultivation would take no time to reach the Immortal realm, they usually lacked knowledge of the Saint ingredients and ones below it.

The Alchemy God, however, had made meticulous preparations in order to become who he was today, so the chances of him not recognizing the two ingredients were impossible.

With his eyes closed, he came upon the answer. But even though he got the answer, he needed to be absolutely certain. So, within that hall, he brought out the Book of Endless Recipes and wrote down the ingredients that were provided to him and had it come up with different recipes.

The book gave thousands and thousands of recipes, all in various orders, with nearly 90% of them doing exactly the same few things. The Alchemy God quickly searched for the recipe and saw that it was indeed possible and that the two weaker ingredients did indeed count as a replacement.

This was similar in concept to various other things that older alchemists were usually taught. Learning this as an Alchemist was difficult to believe.

"Who did this?" he asked the man.

The staff simply handed him the pill bottle, which confused the Alchemy God. He opened it and looked inside, and immediately realized who it was, based on the pill veins.

"This was Silvermist's disciple?" he asked, quite surprised.

The staff nodded. "Yes, Your Majesty. He had already previously replaced the ingredient with Ocean Heart Lily leaves, but he changed his mind and has replaced it again, only this time with two ingredients at once."

"I see," the Alchemy God said. The rules certainly didn't say anything about not being allowed to do this. He thought for a while longer and came up with a few questions.

"How are the points being handled? He can't get double points for this," the Alchemy God said.

"The points?" the staff seemed surprised. "Does that mean the two ingredients are correct, Your Majesty?"

"Hmm? Oh yes. They are correct," he answered.

The staff had his jaw wide open in shock. "This sort of thing is possible?"

"Yes, it is," the Alchemy God said. "Now, how are you handling the points?"

"We're giving him the points for the more unique of the two attempts he made," the member said. "We have also decided to take away the points from the attempts that aren't the most unique, but we're not sure if that is the right idea. What do you think, Your Majesty?"

The Alchemy God certainly hadn't been expecting this sort of issue in the competition and wasn't fully prepared for it. He thought for a long moment and said, "Have him choose if he wants to keep his rank or if he wants the points for his unique ingredients. Tell him he must choose and can't keep both. He will make the decision for us."

The staff member slowly nodded. "That could certainly work," he said. "I'll work on it then."

The Alchemy God nodded softly. "If there is another similar issue, tell me the issue directly instead of asking me to come here. I will respond as quickly as I can," he said. He paused for a moment and said, "Write an explanation in the barrier formation that shows the timer in the sky. We can't have people asking why the second-ranking competitor suddenly lost many ranks at once."

The staff agreed. "I will do that, Your Majesty."

The Alchemy God turned, walking back the way he came. He strode until he was back in the open well that led to the top of the tower and flew up. He was back in the room very quickly, apologizing to everyone for his absence.

"What was the issue you had to deal with?" the Winter God asked.

The Alchemy God opened his mouth, about to speak, when suddenly his attention was drawn back outside, along with everyone else.

Clouds gathered in the sky once again, as another round of pill lightning prepared to strike down.
