Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 417 Meeting Gone Wrong.

Chapter 417 Meeting Gone Wrong.

Patriarch Wei believed his plan was foolproof, but he underestimated the influence and power of the Celestial Heavenly Store.

The assassination attempts on the Sun Clan Master and the Mo Clan Master failed miserably.

Patriarch Sun was far stronger than anticipated, while Matriarch Mo practiced the Heart Mirror Art, allowing her to detect the emotions of those around her.

This enabled her to sense the nervousness of her assistant, thwarting the attempt on her life.

Even though the assassination attempts failed, neither of them appeared in public, adhering to the store's instructions.

If the enemies thought they could plot against the store without facing severe consequences, they were truly delusional.

While the general populace's attention was focused on the upcoming discussion between the Celestial Heavenly Store and the Imperial Army,

a strong undercurrent of schemes and counter-schemes surged through the Soaring Cloud Region.

The armies were desperately trying to find a loophole to exploit against the store, but they failed miserably at every turn.

Finally, the fateful day arrived.

Patriarch Wei looked as though his soul had left his body. He turned to glance at the smiling Patriarch of the Wu Clan, forcing a weak smile.

"Elder Wei, what a beautiful day," Patriarch Wu said, his face beaming with a bright smile.

"Indeed, it's a beautiful day…" Patriarch Wei replied, completing the thought silently. To die.

He had tried desperately to convince the Bai Clan to launch an attack on the store, but they refused, insisting on following the plan.

Left with no options, he could only brace himself for the worst.

After traveling for five hours, they arrived at the imperial army camp.

Rows of soldiers stood at attention, their formation immaculate.

Their intimidating presence sent shivers down the spines of the newcomers.

Brigadier General Lei Ming approached Patriarch Wei and Patriarch Wu, his expression stoic.

"We've been waiting for you. Follow me," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.

Patriarch Wu, unfazed by the Brigadier's tone, followed him while still smiling.

Watching this, Patriarch Wei sneered inwardly and trailed behind.

Inside the main tent, the Field Marshal and the other generals sat with eyes burning with hostility.

"Take a seat," one of the generals said curtly.

As soon as they sat down, an abrupt silence descended upon the tent.

The generals said nothing, only glaring at them.

Under the tense atmosphere, Patriarch Wei was sweating bullets, while Patriarch Wu maintained his calm demeanor, still smiling.

Realizing their intimidation wasn't yielding the desired effect, the generals exchanged subtle glances. Finally, Major General Lai Da broke the silence.

"You must be the Patriarch of the Wu Clan and Elder Wei from Dongping City."

Both men nodded, waiting for him to continue.

"What's stopping the army from taking you hostage or, better yet, killing you to send a message to the store? How dare the store assassinate the Prime Minister? Hmm?" he demanded, raising his voice and banging the table.

"Speak now, or your heads will hang at the gates of Clear Wind City by morning."

The tension in the tent was palpable. Patriarch Wei's lips trembled, his heart pounding as he fought the urge to flee.

In contrast, Patriarch Wu remained calm. A playful smile crept onto his lips as he asked,

"Are you done?"

"Huh?!"

Everyone in the tent was stunned. No one had expected such a nonchalant response.

The veteran soldiers recovered quickly, and an old major unsheathed his weapon, shouting,

"Are you ready to die?!"

"You wouldn't dare," Patriarch Wu replied without sparing the major a glance, his gaze fixed on the Field Marshal.

To him, the generals didn't even have the right to speak to him.

"If you're done with this act, let's get down to business. I don't have all day."

"Marshal, please permit me to kill this insolent fool," the old major said, pointing his saber at Patriarch Wu.

"Can we please calm—"

"Shut up!" Patriarch Wu snapped, cutting off Elder Wei, who was trying to mediate the tension.

He glared at him furiously. "If you dare speak again, you can forget about leaving this camp alive."

Patriarch Wei was stunned, his mouth opening and closing soundlessly.

It was the first time he had seen this overbearing side of Patriarch Wu, and it terrified him.

The soldiers, equally shocked, hadn't expected Patriarch Wu to act so domineering toward his own companion.

Ignoring their reactions, Patriarch Wu regained his calm, carefree demeanor and asked,

"Are we done with the posturing, or shall we proceed?"

"What gives you such confidence?" the Field Marshal finally spoke, his tone icy.

Patriarch Wu's smile deepened. "The store."

The generals exchanged stunned glances.

Is the store truly this powerful, or is this blind arrogance?

"What if I kill you now? Will the store save you?" the Field Marshal asked, his aura erupting like a slumbering beast awakening.

Even the generals recoiled slightly from the oppressive pressure.

But Patriarch Wu's expression didn't change.

"You can try," he said casually.

For a moment, silence filled the tent. The Field Marshal's cold voice shattered it:

"Good. Now, let's see the power of this mighty store."

He was the Field Marshal of the human kingdom, a man who inspired fear wherever he went.

How dare this ant act arrogantly in his presence?

"Fine. You've asked for it," Patriarch Wu said, rising to his feet. He locked eyes with the Marshal.

"Remember this—the deaths of hundreds of thousands of soldiers will be on your hands.

"You dared to provoke the Necoris and act high and mighty before the Celestial Heavenly Store.

"The name alone speaks volumes of its might, yet your stupidity and bias blind you."

He turned to the advisers.

"If you value your lives, run. By midnight, the imperial army will cease to exist.

"That's my advice. Now, I'll take my leave."

"Where do you think—"

Before the Field Marshal could finish his sentence, powerful spatial fluctuations rippled through the tent.

Before anyone could react, Patriarch Wu vanished.

Staring at the empty spot, everyone in the tent froze in shock, a single thought running through their minds:

What just happened?!
