Chapter 1465: My Mom Said He Is Going To Marry Into Their Family
Yan Mi pouted.
Everyone else roared with laughter.
After the meal, the relatives wanted to play mahjong. Yan Su declined as she wanted to hold her daughter for a while longer. Seeing as how he was left out, they dragged Mo Liuxi to join them instead. The table was full of elders including Yan Lv.
Mo Liuxi was especially good at reading the others’ expressions to the extent of guessing their tiles, so he would intentionally throw whichever tile Yan Lv needed to win. Of course, he didn’t do that every time—only when Yan Lv had difficulty winning.
Yan Su’s cousin commented grumpily, “You are doing this on purpose to suck up to your father-in-law.”
“It’s perfectly normal even if I’m doing it on purpose.” Mo Liuxi smiled confidently. “Fathers-in-law are meant to be sucked up to in the first place.”
Yan Lv smiled in a rare bout of good mood. This boy was indeed good at flattering, much better than that Shi Xiang fellow.
As night fell, their friends and relatives returned home after enjoying another table full of Mo Liuxi’s food. Yan Su watched the Spring Festival Gala Program with her parents while Mo Liuxi played with their daughter. Yan Yan no longer avoided him and was already comfortable around him after only one day; being her the biological father no doubt factored into that.
At eleven o’clock, Yan Su received a call from Luosang. “I’m sending my New Year greetings early. Happy New Year. You’re back in your hometown this year, right?”
“Yes, happy new year,” Yan Su walked out while talking on the phone. “Are you at home with CEO Nian?”
“Yup. My parents are spending New Year’s in Europe, and Liuxi said that he’ll be visiting his girlfriend’s family. That said, I didn’t know when he got himself a girlfriend—he has never brought her home to meet us. My mom said that he’s going to marry into their family one day.”
Yan Su glanced awkwardly at Mo Liuxi who was preoccupied with their daughter, “Um... it’s a good thing he’s found a girlfriend. He’ll probably bring her over to meet you soon. Don’t worry, a man as arrogant as he is will never marry into another family.”
Luosang laughed. “You can’t be sure of that. My dad said that he adores that woman to the point where he even wants to get married next year. That woman must really be something to be able to tame a man like Mo Liuxi.”
Yan Su felt more awkward as the conversation continued, so she quickly changed the topic, “Isn’t Nian Xi bringing her boyfriend home for New Year’s this time as well?”
“Yes, Professor Jiang came as well.” Luosang was amused. “He follows Nian Xi everywhere. Nian Xi should be going over to his family after the New Year Festival. They’re planning to get married next year.”
“That’s pretty good,” Yan Su said.
“It is, but my husband and his dad are still worried for some reason... who knows what’s in their heads.”
The two of them talked for over twenty minutes until Nian Junting called for Luosang on the other end. They hung up soon after.
The moment Yan Su turned around, she saw Mo Liuxi holding their daughter, staring at her from behind. The faint moonlight fell on their faces, accentuating how incredibly alike they looked.
“Who were you talking to for so long?” Mo Liuxi pouted.
“Your sister.” Yan Su smiled gently as she picked up her daughter and showered her with kisses. “Have you called your family tonight?”
“I have. They will only be coming back after the Lantern Festival.” Mo Liuxi sighed. “They are planning to visit the North Pole.”
“Your parents are... very free-spirited,” Yan Su said with envy. “But I have to start working on the third day of the New Year Festival. You can go over to Luosang’s place this holiday.”
“It’s alright,” Mo Liuxi shook his head. “I plan to stay at your house until the seventh day—I just told your parents.”
Yan Su was speechless.
So he intended to stay at her house without her. How brave of him, especially since the house would be full of guests paying their New Year greetings. Most guys would feel awkward and downright ashamed.
