Chapter 184 A Tale Of Ice, Fire And Steel [Part 3]

"Snowie, get back!" Zack shouted as he took off and moved away from Gajeel. Snowie did the same thing as she too flew away.

Gajeel's body expanded back to his original form but this time, his eyes were completely bloodshot and he looked as though he was about to murder someone.

The red halo above his head shattered into a hundred pieces as Lisa's eyes turned grim. Due to the special formation she had used, she was able to keep track of what the contract did to Gajeel.

Currently, he had entered berserk mode, making him lose all of his mind power and attack anything in his sight.

[ Are you gonna kill him or not? ] Snowie asked Zack while narrowing her eyes.

[ Nah. We just have to make him regain all of his memories. ] Zack then shot towards Gajeel with Gugnir glowing in his right hand.

[ Hit his neck and tail. Lisa, think about how you can make the same formation even stronger. ] Zack then gave out the commands as he threw Gugnir towards Gajeel.

The lance shot forward with blinding speed as the blue flames grew in size and surrounded the entire lance.

Gajeel's eyes flashed over the lance as thousands of steel rods appeared in front of him.

One by one, all of the rods shot towards the spear and all the members of Zack's party.

Except for Lisa, who had wrapped herself in formations, all of the others had to attack the rods. Zack had it the easiest as he would burn through them with his blue flames while dodging others.

He was like a spark of uncontrolled lightning, moving freely. However, the others weren't having that much of a fun time.

"That overpowered bastard…" Hayden muttered while swinging his ax down. The silver blade of the axe cut through multiple rods at once.

Hayden could only grit his teeth as he saw Zack easily fighting and destroying the iron rods. Gugnir had already clashed against Gajeel's neck but the dragon didn't look the least bit affected.

Instead, it doubled the number of rods it was pulling out of nowhere and made his rampage take a new turn.

"Fight back, you morons!" Ken shouted across the battlefield as he went around preventing a few humans from dying.

His shout seemed to wake the humans up from their daze. All of them raised their hands and weapons in a united manner and started fighting back and destroying the rods.

"Good job, Ken!" Zack shouted from above as he was the one holding back most of the incoming rods.

His job had been reduced to a greater extent due to Emma moving the captured dragons inside her inventory. Zack would have been shocked about that but he couldn't afford a slip up in the middle of a battle.

[ Why don't you let me handle your left arm? ] Lance asked as he remembered one of the best skills that he had.

He could turn the tide of the battle alone if he could use that single skill. Zack decided to let the control of his left arm transfer to Lance as he continued to use his flames with his right hand.

[ Here we go! ]

Lance immediately used the left arm to use one of his signature techniques as a blue Phoenix the same size as Gajeel shot from Zack's left arm.

The crowd and Zack's party members were both left in awe as they saw the Phoenix release a screech and shot forward toward Gajeel.

Even the dragon, in his berserk state, couldn't help but cower a little. His instincts were screaming to back off but his mind couldn't process that.

Gajeel shot forward with full force as steel covered his entire body from head to toe. Spikes appeared in the air beside him before taking the shape of an enormously huge steel snake.

The steel snake looked alive as it hissed its fangs at the people below and rushed down in a slithery manner.

'Sht…' Emma quickly notched her moonlight arrow and shot it towards Gajeel. Though it was covered completely in armor, Emma was able to guide the arrow to his tail and get it stuck there.

She thought that by stopping Gajeel, she could stop the movement of the snake. Unfortunately, she was wrong.

Gajeel froze mid-air and faced the full wrath of the Blue flames Phoenix. Zack and Lance had to manage the temperature to make sure that it didn't end up burning the dragon.

On the other hand, the snake doubled its movement and attacked the barrier around Lisa. The formations help up and managed to prevent Lisa from getting hurt.

The blond girl had felt the blow of the attack yet didn't react. Her entire attention was focused on the formation she was creating.

This left Ken, Jules, Emma, and Hayden to deal with the snake. However, Jules's level was too low to make much difference so he was asked to organize the people.

Emma then knocked a stunning arrow and shot it towards the snake. Hayden and Ken then moved from the side, ready to attack.

Hayden's ax glowed with power as black tendrils shot out from it. The tendrils wrapped around the lower body of the snake, forcing it to stay still.

Emma's arrow hit the snake directly and stunned it for some time. Ken then moved in with his fists and directly hit the body of the snake.

Ken had a huge bonus due to him being a monk. His attack managed to crack the snake's body a bit before Hayden moved in for the kill.

He brought down his axe with all his might as the silver blade suddenly turned red. The axe directly clashed against the snake's body and shattered it in half.

Cheers resounded around the place but the battle was far from over.

'Lance is it I or something doesn't feel right...' Zack thought as the blue flames were still wrapped around Gajeel's body.

Many minutes had passed by without any sort of reaction from him.

[ Zack, Snowie is no longer here... ]
