Chapter 757: An Unrestrained Being
Conjurer was the one that resulted in the creation of the System World. Basically, he had seen the entire growth of the Systems and realised the tremendous potential they possessed.
After all, the race of Systems currently was a conglomerate so vast that the entities on the level of Immortal, Magister, and even Mystique had no other choice but to team up to fight against them.
It had to be noted that there was a time when Conjurer had no other choice but to pander to the whims of Magister, an existence too strong for him to even think about going against. Which is why he supported the Systems.
Of course, the world he created wouldn’t be that simple. Mental Fragments were simply building blocks of a System’s body, one that could exist in reality without crumbling apart. That was what Conjurer had been researching up to create until now and had already achieved.
At present, he was just waiting until the power system developed naturally and became strong enough for him to compete against the peak powers.
Mental Strength was an energy source that ran parallel to Mental Energy. It too existed in pretty much every power system and actually played a significant role multiple times. But thought to be inherent to every sentient creature, it was never treated as a separate energy source.
And pretty much, Compass Carburettor had seen through Conjurer’s plans after living in this world for a year. Of course, he wished to take advantage of that.
Mental Strength would give a multiplicative boost to the quality of his Mental Energy depending on his mental state at the time. Moreover, once his true soul took root, Compass Carburettor understood that he could morph Mental Energy and Mental Strength without any issues, thanks to the Spirit Morph Crystal.
It wasn’t just that, but through its power, he could also morph flesh into Mental Fragments, just as he was doing to Pilkan’s brain.
“Goodbye, Pilkan. You were a great whetstone.” Compass Carburettor muttered, feeling only an ounce of guilt that he suppressed and completed devouring all the Ascenders.
Following that, he tanked the lightning bolts, causing them to flow through the strings created using lightning-related Mental Fragments. They formed a massive network, one that spanned the width of a few kilometres, causing lightning to arch over them entirely.
Crackle!
As if offended that he wasn’t dead yet, the lightning became even more serious, for the world had been targeting him and was unable to do anything for the past two hours because he landed in a naturally safe location.
But since he dared to kill and absorb Fenn’s fate, he had to be gotten rid of.
Crackle!
The lightning sparked through the thin threads that were barely a hundredth of a hair’s thickness, flowing as they glowed brightly. The lightning continued to slam into them to no avail, and only seemed to be spreading through them nonstop before which, the massive network shrunk rapidly.
Like stretched springs, they condensed into a network of nerves, resembling a human’s Central Nervous System. All the lightning bolts became energy fuelling through them, transmitting information as just like the mist, Compass Carburettor had absorbed this tribulation lightning too.
It was faster than regular lightning, allowing the transfer of information to be fast, especially since after getting absorbed, they could transform into Mental Fragments, which meant they could morph into Mental Energy too.
This meant that the transfer of information in his body barely took an instant even for tens of billions of transmissions.
Faint mist vaporised from the body as a skeletal framework formed over the Central Nervous System, followed by muscles, organs, tissues, and finally skin. As hair began to grow over his head, eyebrows and eyelids, a set of clothes covered his body as Compass Carburettor took in a deep breath, staring at his original body, “I’m back.”
It was now his own soul controlling his own body, also possessing a part of his own body sealed within himself. But of course, the moment he became entirely whole, the world wasn’t able to sense him momentarily.
Main Character Shielding!
Compass Carburettor transformed into sludge and drilled into the ground, vanishing as the tiny finger-sized hole sealed up with mud immediately after.
A couple of seconds later, Conjurer appeared at the place, abjectly confused as to what the heck had happened here. He was just on the verge of capturing Stencil to help gain leverage in the fight that would erupt in two years.
But every time he was about to go through with the plan, some disturbance erupted in his world, causing him to hurry over and return here.
He had over a few dozen worlds under him. So, he couldn’t always observe everything happening there. These worlds used his power to maintain themselves. They were like gas stations fuelling his existence, allowing him to revive through them instantly.
He could also influence their development through the power system, but that didn’t mean he was aware of everything happening here, which was why he was confused, failing to notice anything different in the place.
But he stared at the sky, seeing thunderclouds there, an arrangement similar to the world’s immunity system, ‘Strange, it is apparent that this world was trying to get rid of something here. But where is it? There are no traces.’
‘Is it Compass Carburettor?’ He thought as such, feeling killing intent. Though an instant later, he remained standing there, sporting a blank expression on his face as the thunderclouds in the sky dissipated.
He then regained his bearings, looking around, confused, “Strange, why did I come here?”
“I cannot remember the reason.”
…
Bang!
“Koff!” A teenager kneeled to the ground, getting the wind knocked out of his chest as he stared at the dirty feet of the pair of thugs that were bullying him for money.
“I already gave you everything I had! Spare me already!” The teenager shouted.
“A feisty one we have, huh?” One of the thugs said before suddenly noticing a hooded man appear behind the teenager, shouting in alarm, “W-Who are you? Where the fuck did you come from?”
“Eh?” The teenager took in a deep breath to gather his bearings before lifting his head, surprised to not see any traces of the thugs nearby.
“They ran away.” The hooded man said, smiling as he urged the teenager to walk away, “Here, your purse. Be careful with your money, alright?”
“Thank you, kind sir.” Even though he was confused, the teenager took the purse, bowed in response and exited the alleyway.
“Be careful,” The hooded man waved his hand before staring at the wall nearby that wriggled all of a sudden before parting open to reveal the two thugs constrained inside.
