Louisa imagined a grand scene in her head, but Lumma didn’t know how to explain it to her and didn’t bother to try.

“Mr. Park is right. Then, I’ll go first,” Lumma said. She liked Louisa but didn’t want to have too much contact with her.
Louisa was a popular superstar and the wife of Callum, the CEO of Park Group, as well as a friend of Adam’s. On the other hand, Lumma was just Adam’s assistant and belonged to a completely different world than Louisa.
Their worlds were like two parallel lines that were not meant to intersect, and they were destined never to become compatible friends.
Louisa watched Lumma leave with longing and turned back to punch Callum, saying, “Callum, not only did you ruin my date with Lumma, but you also won’t let me take her home. Are you trying to anger me?”
Callum grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips, kissing it gently. “If you take
Lumma home, then who will Adam take? Give Adam a chance. He finally has feelings for someone.”
Louisa knew exactly what Callum was thinking. “Lumma is married and most likely
pregnant.”
“So what?” Callum replied coldly, biting her carlobe, “If Adam wants her, do you really think she can escape his grasp?”
Louisa shuddered as memories flooded back into her mind.
She knew better than anyone that these wealthy capitalists would stop at nothing to get
what they wanted. How could ordinary girls like them ever hope to escape their
clutches?
Callum pulled her close to him. “I’m hungry. Let’s go back to the hotel and have some supper.”
Louisa tried to hide her sadness and scolded him. “You rascal!”
Did Callum not fear early death, given how he thought about sex all day long?
Lumma saw that it was still early and decided to stop by the hospital to check on Maria before heading home.
She arrived at the roadside and prepared to hail a taxi when a luxurious car slowly approached and stopped beside her.
Adam, seated in the back seat of the car, rolled down the window and said, “Get in. I’ll give you a ride home.”
He sat in the car with the lights off, and the light from the roadside lamps shone on his face, revealing the distinct contours of his features that Lumma could vaguely make
out.
In the dim light, his handsome face appeared almost unreal.
A man who looked this good was destined to be trouble.
“Mr. Hills, I can go back on my own.” During her free time at work, Lumma didn’t want to get too close to this troublemaker, in case it gave people something to talk about.
