Chapter 927: The Icebreaker inside the Frissure

Qin Feng’s dark runes slithered across the snowfield through the dark like silk. They imbued into one after another dead ultra beast carcass.

These ultra beasts, which had their blood frozen by the harsh cold, opened their eyes abruptly.

A shade of aquamarine, the color of death, began to burn in their eyes. They stood up, shakily at first, and slowly ducked away from the horde charging forward.

The other ultra beasts were too busy fighting for the best position possible. They were not bothered by the undead ultra beasts that were moving in a different direction.

The number of undead puppets around Qin Feng increased exponentially.

One on top of another, they gathered into a large legion around Qin Feng.

When the number of puppets reached a hundred, Qin Feng could no longer hold back. He ordered the legion of undead soldiers to charge with him.

“Kill!” Qin Feng stood on a giant mammoth and commanded. He positioned himself in the middle of the troop and had the other ultra beasts protect him. Under Qin Feng’s consciousness, these undead puppets marched quietly. They did not roar but their soul fire burned brightly, as if it was screaming in agony. Their bodies treaded vigorously under Qin Feng’s will.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Like a group of well-rehearsed soldiers, these puppets marched uniformly and easily caught up to a group of ultra beasts at the edge of the large horde.

It was a pack of silver wolves that lived near the glaciers. The pack had at least fifty members in it. That was the only reason they could fight with other ultra beasts. These wolves were too feeble to fight alone.

But these weak creatures could muster little resistance against the even larger group of undead puppets. They were instantly trampled down.

One silver fox was about to be stepped on by an undead puppet. Spooked, the silver wolf desperately called out a half-transparent shield around its body. Nevertheless, the giant puppet pressed down and instantly shattered the fragile ice shield.

Inevitably, the silver wolf’s body was pinned deep into the snow. The giant puppet strode on, and did not bother to check whether the wolf was still alive. The wolf would have zero chance of surviving anyway. More puppets were coming behind the first one and they would assuredly step over the wolf’s body.

It was not that the zombie army could think by themselves and worked as a group. All of their actions were manipulated by Qin Feng.

He was monitoring everything from a vantage point. In case there was really any ultra beast that was so lucky and survived the stampede, his saber would finish the job.

Qin Feng’s legion charged on dominantly.

Not only that but Qin Feng continued to expand his legion by converting some of the stronger ultra beasts that he killed along the way into one of his own.

His consciousness was powerful enough to control a thousand beast emperors. Though S-tier ultra beasts were indeed more powerful, activating them meant that Qin Feng would lose control of the majority of the puppets. As such, Qin Feng did not intend to build an S-tier army. Moreover, the materials on an S-tier ultra beast were usually rare and precious. Turning it into an undead puppet meant it would waste its true value. Qin Feng was unwilling to do so unless the situation turned really dire.

Gradually, Qin Feng and his troops were getting nearer the edge. The closer they got, the more active his Absorption Ability becomes. His consciousness continued to expand wildly.

Not only that but Qin Feng began to see crystalline snowflakes materialize around him. ‘Are these formed due to my absorption?’ Peculiarly, the snowflakes were not cold and could even be infused directly into his consciousness realm.

Surprisingly, Qin Feng’s diamond starglobe size had been enlarged. It was a subtle yet noticeable change.

‘What are these? How can they alter the size of my ability core?’

Undoubtedly, the ability core would evolve as the ability user became more powerful. But this was different. The core simply got larger in size without affecting the consciousness level.

It was like how he had used the gaea crystal to enlarge his dantian by a few folds in the past. ‘If my crystal core were to increase by ten times in size, would it also extrapolate into my consciousness?’

The energy hidden within the frissure must be something more magnificent.

Qin Feng continued to drive the puppets to open up a path to reach the edge of the frissure.

The energy did not stop the probing of his consciousness. But other than raw energy, Qin Feng could not feel anything else down there. Since the ultra beasts were all rushing toward the edge of the frissure, Qin Feng reckoned it was best for him to see it with his own eyes.

He controlled the mammoth to slowly approach the frissure. He was now right by the giant frissure. He looked down and saw nothing spectacular. It was just another common glacier seen everywhere here.

Qin Feng could not tell where the rich energy was oozing out from. More importantly, he did not dare to go down there.

This was when his heart suddenly pounded. His sixth sense warned him of imminent danger.

Qin Feng retreated reflexively. He abandoned the giant mammoth decisively and sheltered himself in the midst of the hundred puppets.

As Qin Feng retreated, the edge suddenly went into a quake. The frissure that was already opened up by a thousand meters broadened once again.

The sudden crust movement dropped the unprepared ultra beasts into the frissure.

This time, the ultra beast did not explode.

Qin Feng could crisply feel that the odd energy had once again arisen from deep under the crack.

Qin Feng’s eyes became wide open. In front of him, a giant icebreaker slowly ascended from the frissure.

The ultra beasts that were floating near the edge of the frissure were exhilarated when they saw the ship. They flapped their hands and legs excitedly, trying to board the ship.

Though the ship was pretty large, it certainly did not have enough space to house all the ultra beasts trying to reach it.

Hence, the reason why the ultra beasts were fighting to get a better position near the edge was probably to board the ship first.

Qin Feng had his concerns. He did not know what might happen next. He could feel a huge risk lying inside the icebreaker.

He went through a lot to get this second life. This was not a risk that he should take.

This was when a familiar presence crept into his consciousness.

He immediately followed it and looked through the ultra beast crowds.

The man was Hu San.

Hu San had seen Qin Feng too, but he did not ask for Qin Feng’s help. Instead, he used Ice Morph and fought tirelessly through the crowded ultra beast.

Though these ultra beasts lived near the glaciers their entire lives, their mastery of ice-type ability was still way weaker than humans.

Now that these ultra beasts were racing to board the ship, Hu San joined them and charged forward fearlessly too.

Soon, Hu San had jumped down the edge and entered the frissure as well. The ultra beasts, who led the pack earlier and got into the frissure first, were mostly S-tiers. In other words, the closer Hu San was to the ship, the more danger he was exposed to.

Qin Feng was baffled by Hu San’s unwavering fighting spirit. Suddenly, he understood something. His thinking had taken a different direction too.

‘Why should I be deterred just because I am living a second life? I am at a bottleneck now and can’t get past this hurdle if I continue to hold back! I have already established a strong base, now it’s time for me to spring high! Isn’t this here the perfect platform for me?’

Shaking off his last bit of doubt, Qin Feng ordered all his puppets to jump down the edge.

An unknown power suspended Qin Feng in mid-air. Through his consciousness, Qin Feng ordered his undead slaves to bump the other ultra beasts away and swam determinedly toward the icebreaker.
