Chapter 176 Future Madam Yang
Chapter 176 Future Madam Yang
Yang Feng’s brows came together, creasing his perfectly fine forehead. The rumor? What rumor? His eyes trailed back to Su Meixiu who was waiting patiently at the door, standing tall and pristine, the same way she always confidently stood when she was around him.
Just then, he remembered the word of Zhao Moyao at the hospital. Her nickname in the office was Future Madam Yang. Was this the rumor bothering Zhao Lifei? He turned his head to her, watching as she snobbily ate her congee with a spoilt expression on her face. She was so passive aggressive, it amused him.
He caressed the back of her head. "I’ll address it." He said, leaning in to kiss her forehead, but she resisted and pushed him away. Seeing her like this, he quickly texted Chen Gaonan and his other assistants to clear up the rumor. Such a stupid rumor...he ensured it would never happen again.
Su Meixiu was confused at what he was doing until her phone dinged. She snuck a secretive glance and saw he was distracted with placing the most nutritious food onto Zhao Lifei’s plate.
She silently grabbed her phone out of her purse which was flooded with messages from her coworkers.
[Meixiu, dire news! Chen Gaonan announced that any talks about you as the Future Madam Yang is banned!]
[Oh my god, Meixiu! Is it true? President Yang has an official girlfriend? Chen Gaonan dispelled the rumors in the office about our boss being a monk or that you would one day become his wife!]
She lifted her eyes from the screen to see her boss urging Zhao Lifei to eat more. She ignored him, as if his words were air passing through her ears. She gave him the cold shoulder, but peeled the prawns for him and even deshelled the crabs. He reacted with a happy smile and would try to kiss her, which she reacted by pushing him far back before his lips could land onto hers.
Looking at this scene, Su Meixiu felt numb inside. It was the same one she had witnessed in the past. All of these women always purposely showed off their love in front of her in hopes of exerting dominance or placing some sort of territorial claim over President Yang. If only these women knew, in the end, the person who stood by his side the longest was none other than herself.
A doubtful voice whispered at the back of her mind, ’But none of these women came close to receiving the amount of affection Zhao Lifei was getting from Yang Feng...’
Su Meixiu felt her throat run dry the more she stared at them, for indeed, the voice was right. The love being showered upon Zhao Lifei was astonishing. In all her years working with Yang Feng, she had never witnessed him in this state.
Zhao Lifei did not pay attention to the bewildered woman standing near the dining table filled with breakfast foods, sourced from as many countries as possible, nor did she spare Yang Feng a lot of her time.
She found it amusing sometimes that the more she pulled back from him, the more he pushed and clung to her for attention. The less she gave, the more he wanted, but the more she gave, the more spoiled he became, taking a mile from an inch.
She had finished peeling the last prawn, placing it onto Yang Feng’s dish. He gobbled it down, savoring it like it was the best thing he had ever tasted in this world. He then looked at her, his eyes filled with high hopes that she would peel him another shrimp.
"There’s no more." She said, shaking her head at him.
Yang Feng looked at the empty plate and waved one of the maids forward, but she stopped him in time.
"Eating too much seafood in one day is not good for you." She stood up, cleaning her hands with the wet wipe provided by a maid who stepped forward the second she climbed out of her seat.
Yang Feng shot up as well, his eyes trailing after her and it wasn’t until she passed him did he grab her. "Where are you going?"
"I’m full, I need to change for our shopping trip." She mused, covering his hand with hers and slowly prying it away.
Yang Feng’s eyes skimmed the partially emptied plates of touched food and then to her silverware where she had two bowls of congee and a few bites of the other dishes. He deemed she ate enough. Pleased, he patted her head like a pet, to which she glared at him, raising an arm to hit him like a stubborn little kitten, but he caught her fist and with his eyes gleaming with mischief, he kissed it.
"Behave, little one." He chuckled and with one fluid tug, she collapsed against his chest. His arms snaked around her as he bent down to press one last kiss to her forehead.
"Change quickly." He added on.
"In order to look as good as I usually do, it takes time." She snorted, placing her hand on his chest to create some distance between them. They had company in this room and she did not want to overdo the public display of affection.
"I think you honestly look fine like this." Yang Feng snorted. He honestly couldn’t care less if she walked out in nothing but his shirt and barely brushed hair, or if she was to strut the streets in top-of-the-line fashion. She could be in the ugliest outfit possible, paint her face with clown makeup, and in the end, he would still view her as the most beautiful woman in this world.

After taking the bag from Su Meixiu and changing her clothes, Zhao Lifei had to admit, the secretary had good taste. The flowy white dress she brought was very modest with loose bellowed out sleeves reaching to the elbows and stopping a few inches above the knee. It hugged her in the right places, emphasizing her waistline and at the same time, it didn’t reveal too much. The outfit made her look youthful but mature.
After digging through Yang Ruqin’s room and not finding a single hair tool, she decided to just brush up her hair and leave it in a ponytail. Applying a light layer of make-up, she did a double look in the mirror before hurriedly rushing down the halls and down the wide staircase where Yang Feng was already waiting for her outside.
Su Meixiu was nowhere in sight and Zhao Lifei figured the woman probably left.
"All set?" Yang Feng prompted while stealing Hu Wei’s job and opening the door for her.
She nodded and climbed into the car. He got in after her, shutting the door and giving Hu Wei the signal to start driving.
"We’re not going to Imperial Star Mall?" She questioned when the car entered an unfamiliar highway.
"No, we’re going to a mall my mother frequents." Yang Feng had his men look into where she usually shopped and from the knowledge of the material things she loved, he already had a broad idea of what to get her in mind.
He turned his head to Zhao Lifei who was busy researching on her phone. He had a flawless view of her from there, her lean swan neck on full display. Lazily leaning his head on a propped up arm, he was about to release her hair so that it hid everything she had to hide, but she sensed what he was going to do and grabbed his fingers.
"Stop it." She warned him, like a mother scolding her naughty child. She never looked up from her phone, for she was too immersed and concentrated on getting the ideal gift to even think the perfect answer was right beside her.
"If you kiss me, I’ll tell you what my parents’ ideal gifts are." Yang Feng spoke up, a devilish smile appearing on his lips when she stiffened and slowly looked up from the phone. She looked at him, her eyes filled with heavy suspicion.
"My dear, if you continue to look at me like that, I’ll feel inclined to ask for more." His sly words prompted her to roll her eyes.
"Continue to negotiate and I might not even kiss you."
Hu Wei felt his cheeks flush from their flirtatious words. He thought this would be an easy job, but who would’ve thought he’d have to be the one to forcefully swallow this dog food and listen until his ears bled!
