Looking at the screen displayed in the arena, everyone could see the current ranking of the students. It had been more than an hour since Orion and Aurora stepped out of the dark zone, and now, the first sixteen students who were required to qualify for the next round had successfully made it to that round.
The sixteen students gathered in a spot as they awaited further instructions, and after a few minutes, Ganesha appeared and congratulated them.
"Congratulations to all of you for making it this far," Ganesha complimented everyone and they had a smile on their faces. However, Ganesha also noticed how some of the students were exhausted and panting heavily.
The judges noticed this as well, so they announced that everyone had been given a resting period of three hours before the next challenge began.
Seeing this, Mia muttered a few words to herself as she stood up from her seat.
"Alright, let's get started."
However, Dahlia wondered what was wrong but Mia simply smiled and said. "Let's go, Dahlia," She held Dahlia's hand and pulled her up from her seat and out of the arena.
"Princess Mia, where are we going?"
"Hehe… We're going shopping."
"S-Shopping?"
"Yes. I told you we would be going out, didn't I?"
"Yes, you did."
"And what else did I say?" Mia asked with a naughty smile on her face as she looked at Dahlia, knowing that the cute vampire elf might not have the courage to say it.
Meanwhile, Dahlia's ears had turned red the moment she recalled what Mia wanted them to do for Orion, and Mia couldn't help but chuckle softly after seeing the cute look on Dahlia's face.
"You're so easy to read, Dahlia."
"..."
"You were thinking of babe doing something naughty with you, weren't you?" Mia bumped Dahlia's butt with hers and Dahlia's face reddened even more.
Seeing this, Mia burst into laughter again, and she locked her arms with Dahlia's.
"Come on, Dahlia. Time isn't on our side; we have to hurry," Mia pulled Dahlia, and the two hurried towards a teleportation array.
Of course, Dahlia's face remained flushed because she knew exactly what they would be doing after shopping.
It was the naughty idea Mia had whispered into Dahlia's ear. But even Dahlia couldn't deny the fact that she couldn't wait to do what Mia had in mind.
Mia had wanted them to buy groceries with the hope of making Orion a delicious meal once he returned back to his room, but the reason why Dahlia's cheeks became red was because Mia wanted them to welcome Orion back home as though he was their husband.
It might be weird but Dahlia was definitely interested in doing this with Mia.
With that out of the way, Dahlia refocused her attention on what was currently important.
As they made their way to the nearest teleportation array, Mia noticed the screen displayed by a crystal ball and she could see the remaining sixteen contestants walking towards their seats to take a short break.
Mia also noticed Orion's facial expression and she clicked her tongue with a smile on her face. "Just look at him."
"Who?"
"I'm talking about Babe, just look at him. The next stage of the tournament hasn't begun but you can see how mentally prepared he is for what's to come next."
"His Highness, must really want to win the tournament."
"Yes, that's right, but…" Mia paused dramatically while placing her hands on her hips."I think he deserves to relax and have fun for once, don't you agree?"
Dahlia hesitated to reply as she began to fiddle with the hem of her maid uniform. "I do, but is this why you wanted us to go shopping for groceries?"
"Yep, babe has been working so hard in preparation for the activity club tournament, so we'll cook him a special meal. Something that shows him how much we care about him."
"Working together to prepare a meal for His Highness really sounds nice," Dahlia muttered and her cheeks turned pink.
"I know, right? And I'm sure you can't wait to get started."
"No, I can't."
"Perfect!! Let's head to the city and get everything we need. Then we'll make it a surprise to look forward to," Mia said excitedly, but then her eyes suddenly twinkled mischievously. "And while we're at it, let's stop by the boutique."
"The boutique?" Dahlia tilted her head with a puzzled look on her face, but Mia leaned close as her silver-colored tails swished excitedly behind her while she whispered a few words into Dahlia's ear. "Yes, the boutique. Don't you think we should pick up something… a little daring to welcome babe back properly?"
Dahlia's eyes widened and her cheeks turned beet red. "Princess M-Mia, I-I."
"What? Don't act so surprised!" Mia teased and locked her arms with that of Dahlia's again. "Come on, let's go before all the good stuff is gone."
The two kept walking until they arrived at the teleportation array. The array shimmered as the two stepped on the platform, and a moment later, they appeared in the capital city, underneath the academy.
Upon arriving at the city, the girls could see how the street was filled with the laughter of children and the chatter of merchants.
A few crystal balls hovered in the sky and were displaying the replays of everything that had happened so far in the beast-taming tournament.
However, there weren't a lot of people interested in watching what was being displayed.
There were several reasons why only a few people were watching the tournament right now, and one of the reasons was that most people had watched what was currently being displayed on the screen, so they decided to return to what they were doing prior to when they started watching the tournament.
Meanwhile, others weren't interested in watching the tournament because they had one thing or the other that they were currently preoccupied with, and this was how everyone went about doing the things they needed to do.
But one of the main reasons why the city was currently bustling with people of different races was because in this city, the merchants were much more than that of other cities, and the air practically smelled of money as well.
Anyway, with that out of the way, Mia and Dahlia headed toward the market district.
Mia was currently holding Dahlia's hand while she walked hurriedly through the street with a huge grin on her face.
Meanwhile, Dahlia couldn't help but giggle at how the beautiful Kitsune princess looked happy.
It seemed like it was the first time Mia was stepping out of the academy and the excitement on her face looked like that of a child.
"Isn't it wonderful here? There's so much energy here! Look at that stall—oh, and that one over there!" Mia tugged Dahlia's arm as she pulled Dahlia toward a fruit vendor.
Dahlia followed her as her eyes darted from the towering buildings to the colorful stalls. Then she perceived a strong aroma of freshly baked bread, and Dahlia admitted with a smile on her face. "It's nice."
"The City is not just nice; it's amazing," Mia grinned while picking up a bright, star-shaped fruit. "Babe would love stuff like this, so let's get a few of these. But what do you think we should make for him? Something fancy or maybe something hearty?"
Dahlia reached for a basket of blue vegetables while she replied. "His Highness will be exhausted after the tournament so he would probably like to eat a simple dish. How about we make something comfortable for him to eat?"
"You see? You're beginning to know more about him every day," Mia beamed and Dahlia smiled as well, her eyes still on the vegetables she was holding.
The two ladies bought what they needed and the moment they were done, they decided to check around the market.
As they moved through the market, Mia chatted animatedly with the vendor while Dahlia quietly inspected almost every ingredient she laid her eyes upon, but after gathering the ingredients they needed, the duo arrived at a small boutique tucked away in a more quiet corner of the city.
The display window was filled with elegant gowns and daring outfits that sparkled under enchanted lights.
"Come on Dahlia, let's see if we can find something special inside," Mia said while pulling Dahlia inside.
Mia hesitated at the door as her hand gripped the handle tightly. "I don't think we–"
"No excuses," Mia interrupted before dragging Dahlia in, and as the two walked in, the first thing they noticed was the shopkeeper who happened to be a beautiful lady with dark angel wings.
"Welcome, beautiful customers!! Are you two looking for something specific?" The gorgeous fallen angel asked with a beautiful smile on her face.
Mia returned the smile and replied. "We're shopping for a surprise. Something bold."
The shopkeeper's eyes twinkled. "I have just the thing." She said and gestured for Mia and Dahlia to follow her.
Mia browsed through the racks of clothes in front of her and held up various dresses for Dahlia to try on. "What about this one? Or this? Oh, this would look amazing on you, Dahlia. What do you think?"
Dahlia shook her head furiously with her face looking as red as a tomato. "I-I don't think I can–"
