Chapter 202 202. ACT {22}:- Awkward Dance.
The dorm room was now filled with the beautiful sound of the lyre playing as Mia pulled Dahlia away for a dance.
Mia hummed the song that matched the tone of what the lyre was playing while leading Dahlia in a series of simple steps.
"P-Princess Mia, what are you-?"
"Relax Dahlia, and just follow my lead."
"But we can't be doing this right now."
"I know, but you could use this chance to learn how to dance. Who knows, maybe babe would be interested in dancing with you one day?"
"W-with me?"
"Yep, now follow my lead if you really want to learn how to impress him."
Dahlia nodded with a small smile on her face and she slowly began to follow Mia's footsteps.
She completely forgot about the dinner they were meant to be making.
This was because Mia had never danced before, and since Orion was a prince, it wouldn't be shocking for him to know how to dance. But what if he suddenly decided to ask her to dance with him? Wouldn't it be a shame for the personal maid of the elf prince to not know how to dance?
It would certainly be a disgrace, and Dahlia would never want to be a disgrace to her prince, so she decided to learn everything she could about dancing from Mia.
However, to her surprise, it turned out that Mia didn't know how to dance either.
Dahlia thought that Mia could dance and that was why she wanted to teach her. But it turned out that Mia was just as inexperienced at dancing as Dahlia, but this didn't prevent them from doing what they initially agreed on.
Since Mia wanted them to dance, she was determined to make sure that they danced according to the rhythm of the song that was being played on the lyre.
While they danced, the two were clumsy as they moved their bodies while trying to emulate a formal dance. Since it wasn't working out, they slowly changed it to a freestyle dance where they could dance however they liked as long as they were happy while dancing.
And so, this was how both ladies began to dance awkwardly around the room. Mia continued to spin and sway her hips while making some awkward dance moves to try and impress Dahlia.
Of course, this brought a smile to Dahlia's face and it didn't take long for the Kitsune princess' positive vibes to infect Dahlia, causing her to join her in dancing even more awkwardly.
The two girls stepped on each other's toes occasionally, but this didn't stop them from dancing. Instead, they continued to dance in time with the rhythm of the song, filling the entire room with laughter, before they finally became exhausted and decided to take a breather on the couch nearby.
While still breathing heavily, Dahlia turned towards Mia to thank her. "Thanks for letting me do this, Princess Mia."
"You're welcome, Dahlia," Mia replied with a smile. She was pleased to see that Dahlia was feeling a bit more relaxed now.
She had noticed how tense Dahlia had been while chopping the vegetables, so she thought that she'd helped her loosen up by making her dance.
Meanwhile, Dahlia appreciated what Mia did and now she felt more calm and she didn't feel tense anymore about their upcoming dinner with Orion.
Rather, she couldn't wait to have a wonderful time with Mia and Orion now.
But while she was imagining how the dinner would turn out, Dahlia suddenly noticed the crystal ball in the corner of the room flickering a bit; then she turned towards the screen displayed on the wall, and she saw that Orion and the other fifteen contestants were getting ready for the third round of the tournament.
"Princess Mia, the third round is about to begin," She swiftly informed Mia.
"Really?" Mia sat up straight to take a look at the screen as well and she could see Orion and the other contestants preparing to begin the third round of the tournament.
The third round was focused on direct combat between beasts and their beastmasters.
The battle would take place in the arena and the first to take part in it was Orion, and his supporters roared loudly in the arena as they cheered for him.
Of course, his supporters were none other than the beautiful female elves of his kingdom.
"Prince Galdur!!! You can do it!!"
"I love you, Prince Galdur!!"
"Your Highness, you're the best!!"
Dahlia watched as the female elves supported Orion with every fiber of their being. Even her friends were cheering on and supporting Orion just like every other elve in the arena.
"It still feels amazing whenever I see other elves cheering on His Highness like this."
"Yeah, he's really amazing, and it's nice to see how so many elves believe so much in him."
"But doesn't His Highness ever feel pressured by the expectations his royal subjects have towards him?"
"Of course, he does; that's why he trains a lot so that he won't disappoint his fans and family. But you won't see him telling anyone about this because he tries to act calm and collected whenever he is participating in tournaments like these. But deep down, babe is just as worried as anyone about failing"
Dahlia nodded in understanding. Now she knew why Orion was always so hardworking and why it was always rare to see him spending some of his time just having fun.
This also enabled her to see why Mia was truly the best girl Orion could have as a girlfriend because it always seemed like she knew everything there was to know about Orion, and Dahlia couldn't wait to feel this way towards Orion as well.
Leaving that thought aside for now, Dahlia redirected her attention back to the screen where Orion's adoring fans cheered him on and her smile widened a bit when she looked at her friends on the screen again.
Her friends were the same female elves Orion had introduced to her on the day he had helped her remove the runic mark that had been on her skin for decades.
Mia also noticed the girls on the screen as well, so she asked. "Are those girls your friends?"
"Yes, they are," Dahlia pointed at the girls she was specifically close with.
"Wow, your friends are livelier than the other elves around them."
Dahlia giggled, knowing that this was true. "That's because they respect His Highness a lot."
