The woman nudged the little girl, urging her, “What are you waiting for? Apologize!”
Celeste just stood there with her lips tightly pressed together. She didn’t say a word.
The little girl cried even harder, stuttering out an apology, “I’m… I’m
sorry…”
Mason’s expression hardened. He walked over to the girl and asked softly, “Did you throw the cup?”
The little girl nodded reluctantly.
He pointed at Celeste. “Do you know this lady?”
The little girl shook her head.
“Why did you throw a cup at her if you don’t know her?”
The little girl instinctively glanced at the woman beside her, who quickly interjected, “She was misled… She didn’t do it on
purpose.”
Mason shot her a cold look. “I didn’t ask you.”
The woman fell silent.
Mason turned back to the little girl. “Please answer my question.”
With tears streaming down her face, the little girl mumbled, “I… I just don’t like her.”
“Just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean you can hurt them. You have to take responsibility for your actions,” Mason said while standing up and grabbing her wrist. “Let’s go to the police station.”
Hearing the words “police station, the little girl started to panic. She struggled to shake Mason’s grip, crying, “I don’t want to go…. I’m sorry, sir. Please don’t take me there…”
The little girl’s crying and struggling only intensified. She was clearly terrified.
The woman beside her tried to intervene, “My sister has learned her lesson. Please don’t scare her. We can pay for your medical expenses, okay?”
Seeing the little girl crying so pitifully, the crowd started to sympathize
“She’s just a child. What does she know?”

“Schools won’t tolerate students who ruin their reputation. Parents will teach their children to avoid someone with such a malicious heart. No one will want to be your friend. Your parents will feel ashamed and disgusted by your actions. You should consider the consequences.”
His words scared the little girl into silence. Suddenly she burst into tears, “It wasn’t me… It was my cousin! I didn’t throw it…”
The crowd was shocked by her confession, all eyes turning to the woman who had been defending her little sister just moments ago.
The woman’s expression changed in an instant. Pointing at the little girl’s head, she snapped, “What the heck are you babbling about? I brought you out for fun, bought you so much stuff, and this is how you repay me? You ungrateful brat! You’re going to screw me over now by running your mouth?”
After saying that, she shoved the little girl away, “I must be out of my mind to care about you. You screwed up, and you deal with the consequences!”
She was about to leave, but Mason stretched out his long arm, blocking her path.
