Chapter 504

Chapter 504: The World that Throws Challenge after Challenge(8)

“Let it be Oregon, not Oxen,” Talia prayed in her heart after calming down. She then cursed herself for thinking like this, but the hope of Oregon being the one dying didn’t diminish from her heart.

Talia was convinced that the dead would be one of Oxen or Oregon since there was nothing harming the Void beasts outside the portal, and as for the Void beasts in the Sacred dimension, they were too strong even to be thought of dying.

While Talia went on a rampage, feeling the death of one of the Void beasts, the eight Void beasts standing outside the portal, waiting for Oxen, Talia, and Oregon, stumbled down to the ground as a sudden heart-ripping pain attacked them.

“How?” One of the Void beasts asked with a grave face as she clutched her chest in pain.

The other seven Void beasts had the same reaction since their faces had turned full of shock and horror, and they clutched their chests as a heart-ripping pain attacked them.

Somewhere in the Sacred dimension,

In the darkness of the space, a creature whose ends and beginning could be seen was peacefully sleeping.

“Ugh!”

Suddenly a groan filled with pain rang in the void, resulting in a wave attacking the nearby planets.

The sound wave turned out to be stronger than believed as, in less than a moment, it annihilated countless planets. Not every world contained lives full of divinity, but still, there were a few. They couldn’t even understand what had happened before the sound wave destroyed them and their world.

Suddenly the darkness in the area disappeared, as out of nowhere, a sun appeared and made the darkness recede from wherever it came.

It wasn’t the sun but the eye of the creature. Just an eye alone would’ve put a few universes to shame when it came to the size difference.

The creature was one of the eleven Void beasts present in the Sacred dimension, who had just felt the death of one of its members from the lower dimension.

Since all twenty two Void beasts originated from a drop of blood of Vritrasura, they were connected to each other. When Oregon died, every Void beast sensed it irrespective of their location due to having the same blood connection.

“What happened?” The next moment, a voice directly coming from antiquity rang in the area as the creature pondered over the reason for its sudden awakening.

The next moment, a screen appeared in front of the eyes of the creature, and a scene started playing out.

The scene was playing the death scene of Oregon, but the Void beast couldn’t see anything as everything was blurry.

Suddenly, the aura in the space changed as out of nowhere, eleven suns like eyes opened, lighting the space without end.

“Has the time come?” The eyes then looked in the same direction at the same time, and not long after, a question rang in the area.

The creature’s eyes then fell on the destruction he had caused with its awakening.

All the eyes blinked at the same time, and the next moment, the time started going backward wherever destruction had appeared.

The next moment, all the planets and lives in it came back to life, but the creature was nowhere to see it since it had left after calling for a sudden emergency meeting of the Void beasts, an unprecedented event in the last countless Sacred years.

(A/N: The year is denoted by Sacred in the Sacred dimension, with a Sacred year being equal to 1000 years of the time in the Primal dimension.)

Somewhere in the Multiverse,

“One of my children has died,” An androgynous voice filled with pain rang in the area as the screen played the death of Oregon. This time the screen wasn’t blurry. If anyone were there and were to see it, they would feel as if they were there when the scene occurred.

“Master, do you want me to take action?” A being knelt and respectfully asked.

“No. Revenge is a negative emotion that influences lesser beings. How can it influence an enlightened being like you? No need to do anything. Everything is predetermined in some ways,” The same androgynous voice rang again as it reprimanded the person for even thinking of revenge.

“Forgive me, master,” The kneeling figure apologized as tears started dripping out their cheeks. The person felt guilty for making the owner of the voice reprimand him.

The next moment, the screen stopped playing anything and disappeared, and a round of silence fell in a hall made up of materials that would make even Primordials feel jealous. A figure sat on a throne while a figure knelt on the ground not far from them.

The next moment, a soul having the same appearance as Oregon appeared in the hall. It had tears in its eyes as it bowed at the figure seated on the throne. It then muttered something in incomprehensible knowledge.

The next moment, the soul faded, and it returned to the Conspiracy continent, and not long after, it lost its consciousness, becoming nothing but a blank soul. It was then summoned into the depths of the continent, and since it was unconscious, it couldn’t even fight back as it got pulled.

With curiosity evident on Kores’s face, he stepped forward and grabbed the square card.

“Argh!” The next moment, Kores screamed in pain as out of nowhere, an intense pressure appeared and attacked him.

Kores wanted to release the card, but the pressure reached such an extent that his entire concentration went on to survive it.

The next moment, Kores’s veins started popping out as if an unweighable mountain were placed on his back, and he had to stand up. Not long after, his veins started bursting, releasing a shower of black & white blood.

As time passed, Kores’s bones started cracking, and then they turned into particles.

Kores finally gave up as the pressure breached the limit his body could handle.

First, his body turned into a paste, then tiny particles, and even it was disintegrated into nothingness.

Like Oregon became the first severe casualty on the side of the Primal dimension in the hands of Kores. Similarly, Kores became the first high-level casualty on the side of the Conspiracy continent since he was one of the members of the inner council.

A/N: This chapter becomes the first chapter of the book where any of the Devas had an official presence and a dialogue.

When I had thought of this storyline, I had planned to end this event by showcasing the absolute power a Deva held, but then when I began to write it, I decided against it since I wanted to write an adventure for Aakesh, where there were beings stronger than him. It would help Aakesh grow in his character and gain some empathy for others.

Should I’ve gone with the Deva entering, or is this the better one where Aakesh gets to adventure more?
