Alric's soul left his body for a moment as he read the details of the cultivation art in front of him.
It was none other than Yao Shi, the person who rose from obscurity to fame in the Sacred dimension.
Yao Shi was one of the legendary characters in the history of the Sacred Dimension, and people had been looking for his inheritance for countless years. Only the various notes left by the man had created hundreds of other cultivators who had begun in the same manner as Yao Shi.
Alric couldn't help but release a helpless smile as he read the requirement for cultivating the art: an Expert-level talent in alchemy.
In the Sacred Dimension, talent was graded on several levels, starting from Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, Master, Legendary, and Sacred.
Yao Shi possessed legendary-level alchemy ability, whereas only four cultivators had been born in the Sacred Dimension with Sacred-level alchemy ability. Those four and Yao Shi were the five greatest alchemists to take birth in the Sacred Dimension, with Yao Shi being the fifth due to his slightly poorer talent than the other four.
Expert-level talent came right in between all seven grades of talent, so having this requirement for future cultivators made sense. He had only reached the Advanced level, which was unfortunate for him. His qualifications didn't meet the requirement.
Having Advanced-level talent in alchemy wasn't a minor thing, as there were only six or seven people with aptitude like him in Thorr City. While there was only one person with Expert-level talent in alchemy in the entire Kingdom, that man was the royal alchemist.
There might not even be one Expert-level talent born out of hundreds of millions of Advanced-level abilities. But when Alric reached the price section, he couldn't help but chuckle humorlessly.
"Not possible to afford!" Alric mumbled as he put the art back on the shelf, not placing it at the top like the first one.
Even his father wouldn't have that much liquidity, let alone his brothers. At the same time, Alric also had a goal in mind.
Once he had enough stones, he would buy the art. Even though his talent didn't meet the requirement, the knowledge written in it was still more valuable than anything. He would certainly benefit from the actual art if only notes could help so many cultivators.
Then, Alric started looking for a different cultivation art that he could qualify for or somehow afford.
While Alric was finding a cultivation art for himself, the store welcomed a new customer.
The man qualified as a new customer only because he had never been inside the store before today. It was none other than Jacques, who couldn't gather enough courage to enter the store yesterday.
After hearing the sound of footsteps, Aakesh turned in the direction of the store's door. When he found the man to be Jacques, Aakesh attentively looked at him, thinking about whether the man would enter the store today.
The scene didn't go like yesterday, as the man didn't waste any time outside and immediately stepped into the store after reaching the door.

Jacques's heart skipped a beat as he saw the blue-skinned non-demon looking at him. He was not particularly surprised by the store's grandeur because Garos and Elera had previously told him about the shop and its owner.
After not being able to enter the store yesterday, Jacques went to Garos and Elera for the solution. There, the couple solved Jacques' doubts about the store.
After learning that the store owner stayed peaceful and didn't get violent, Jacques's heart got sufficient courage to enter the store. Although Jacques hardened his heart, he felt a pressure forming on him when he saw those indifferent eyes.
Jacques took a deep breath and tried to smile as he approached Aakesh.
"Hello, store owner! I am Jacques." Jacques respectfully greeted Aakesh and extended his hands for a handshake. Jacques's tone was continuously trembling as if the store owner would eat him at any time.
"I am Aakesh," Aakesh responded, and he only glanced at the extended hand but didn't extend his own hands.
Jacques didn't have any choice but to take back his hands. At the same time, he did a fake cough, using the same extended hand to cover his face.
"Store owner, can you tell me more about the pills?" Jacques removed the awkwardness from his face with a smile and asked. Despite a slight tremble in his tone, he maintained respect.
Aakesh's face remained as expressionless as ever, and he introduced all five pills in one breath. Since Jacques had asked more about the pills, he must already be aware of their names. So Aakesh didn't hide anything and shared all the information with Jacques, like how an energy meditation pill could allow early and intermediate cultivators to meditate for twelve hours, while the result would be ten hours for late and peak Divine Transformation level cultivators.
The more Jacques heard, the more shocked he became in his heart. The price of the pills in this store was steeper than in other stores, barring the energy purification pill. But once their effects became known, the high cost didn't seem to matter.
Jacques would have no issue even if Aakesh sold the energy meditation pill to him at twenty lesser Sacred stones, the double price.
"Is there a limit to the sales, or can customers buy as many pills as they desire?" Jacques asked after calming down.
"A customer can only buy three pills from each category."
'Finally something normal!' Jacques heaved a sigh of relief, as selling limited pills with these effects made sense.
"Store owner, how many pills do you have in total?" Jacques asked as he decided to buy all the available pills. After learning the effects of the pill, if there was still some hope left for competition between his pharmacy and the store: it all disappeared. Now Jacques became certain that he had lost the battle for monopoly over the city.
The only saving grace for Jacques was that not everyone could buy pills at this steep rate, so his business would still bring in revenue.
