Chapter 1320  Final Roll of The Dice (1)

The higher the dimensional ladder that was climbed, the greater the resources needed, especially if you were using the greatest of techniques and spells in existence.

As the last of the soul crystals were vanishing, Rowan did not pause in his movements because he had anticipated such a thing as one of the likely results of copying the Supreme Circles, he already had a solution in place long ago, and his consciousness called up the three metallic books that he had gained from his sojourn into the future.

These were the primary result of nearly a billion years of planning and his entire plan hinges on the power behind these books. He was playing a delicate game here, and the possibility that he might lose was very real, but that was expected. The only problem here was that if he lost this play he was about to make, there would be no way to recover from the loss. He would die, and his body, soul, and memories would be vanquished in such totality it would seem like he had never existed.

Rowan hated these lives where there were only two roads before him, and even though a lot of the times, with the dangers he had faced, it would seem as if this a situation that he had gotten used to, the truth was that he always had a backup plan to push him through the chaos, but in what was coming next, he would have no second option, and yet, the plan he was about to undertake was so complex and had so many factors that could influence the outcome, it was inevitable that a mistake would come up.

However, he had no choice, this was the lynchpin of the entire plan, and whether he succeeded or failed, the die had already been cast, and his life or death was now in the next roll of the dice.

The first six books he had previously summoned had already been consumed and they had caused the destruction of the Frozen road, and this was the accomplishment that was acceptable to the World Stele and was the entire reason it was supporting Rowan in this battle.

These last three books had been made by Rowan at the side using a slightly different method and although he was sure that the World Stele knew of these three books because its powers were parts of their creation, it was sure that it would be able to predict Rowan's actions with them, but that was where the Singularity was mistaken.

The World Stele had only allowed Rowan to create these books to assure Rowan of its willingness to work and cooperate with him, it saw these three books as a sort of insurance policy by Rowan so that he would not suffer a loss that was too great without being able to recoup anything in return, after all, inside these three books, there was a single drop of Primordial Essence spread across all three of them.

Rowan was sure that the World Stele would never allow him to keep that Primordial Essence and at the moment Thenos was awakened, all bets were off and it would seize back the Primordial Essence, but that was only a distraction created by Rowan because he did not need Primordial Essence at this time, Rowan sights were set on something else.

As powerful as Primordial Essence might be, it was a hot commodity that Rowan had no need for at his present dimensional level, what he was going to be pursuing in the future was the ability to process Aetherium, because if he could convert his nearly infinite ocean of Aether into Aetherium, then his powers would leap into a greater level.

Rowan was willing to let the World Stele believe that he was holding on to these three books because of his desire to claim the Primordial Essence within, and Rowan was willing to allow it to think that way until when he was ready to roll the dice.

The first six books could be tampered with by Rowan, but because those Reflections were basically made from normal energy and essence, the World Stele had a greater advantage over them than Rowan ever could, and if he wanted to do anything nefarious with those books, it could be easily be seized by the Singularity.

These last three were made from Rowan's dimensional essence and although the World Stele would be able to contest this power with him, Rowan had a hidden blade inside of these books.

The first six books were blue, corresponding to the energy of the Sirens and the power of Ascendancy, which was the unique energy of the Sirens, the seventh book was black, the eighth was green and the ninth was golden.

Rowan did not hesitate as he activated the seventh black book, and it combusted into ashes. The power of the Primordial Essence leaped from the destroyed book into the last two left.

The effects of that book's destruction were immediate as along the entirety of Doom Star, the realm went still as with a shrill scream, Calamity began to collapse!

A new cry of rage and disbelief began to resound alongside those of the Eye of Time and it was coming from the World Stele.

In this world of ruin and destruction, Rowan had only one ally who had been ensuring his survival all these while, and in this single act, he had made that ally an enemy. ®

Rowan's plan began deep in the past.

The two Ascendant Suns that entered into the past had seen the forces of Calamity devour the last of the mighty Ents, a race of sentient trees that lived on the surface of Doom Star for billions of years, they might not have seen the height of this civilization but Rowan did when his first Reflection was carried a billion years into the past of this realm by the World Stele.

He had seen the battle between the Ents and their enemy the beastly Ravagers, gigantic beasts that resembled mutated dragons who had an unreasonable procreation rate, that could see a single Ravager Queen giving birth to millions of broods in a single week.

The battle between this two powerful race was a thing of beauty and horror and he had learned a lot about the nature of battle in the higher dimension by observing them both.

Their wars had been spectacular but it was not Rowan's primary interest as the World Stele might have believed due to his apparent fixation in their battles, what he was fixated on was one of the aspects of Thenos's power which was the power of pure darkness that had been corrupted into Calamity energy.

Thenos was a being of pure light, but in the darkness of his mother's womb he had never seen light, and he died before he could know what the sight of it might look like.

He dreamt of darkness as a being of light and that dream was madness, but he had no way of differentiating the two. Over the many minor Eras, that dream of darkness filled him up.

This darkness that was inside of him had not been corrected so it came out flawed and his corpse over many Eras became filled with it to the extent that the corpse of Thenos, a being of light, was nearly converted into darkness by the time that the World Stele had found him again.

If the World Stele had delayed for a few more Minor Eras, then the realm of Doom Star would have perished, dragged down into the Great Abyss, as a once being of light had become entirely corrupted into a creature of malignant darkness.

In the beginning, the death of Thenos had banished the World Stele into the Nothingness but it slowly gained influence into reality when it began giving immortals the power to root their dimensions into the Nothingness, and with its influence countless domains sprout outside the domains of the Primordials.

At the dawn of the Supreme Era, except for major primordial domains or the domains of higher dimensional immortals who forcefully spent their essence and Aetherium to preserve their dimension in the Nothingness, there were no World Bearers who could effortlessly root their dimension in the Nothingness, it was because of this great service to reality that the World Stele was not banished once more into the Nothingness by the Primordials who saw that its presence was beneficial to the reality that they had created.

It was with this method that the World Stele slaved away for the Primordials throughout this Major Era until it could find a way to return to Doom Star where it saw the pathetic state of its owner.
