Chapter 217 – Textbook case of a tsundere (3)

Truth was, even though she wasn’t his little aunty, he was pretty much already having her cooking every day. Luckily, his little uncle would shamelessly invite himself over for dinner every day. And he’d even bring him with him! Thinking about it this way, his little uncle wasn’t entirely useless.

Next door to them, Lin Yiyi had walked inside of Meng Yuran’s private booth and saw Lu Xun.

Lu Xun had already pulled out the chair next to him.

By the time Lin Yiyi was seated, he had wiped the plates and chopsticks for her.

What amazing service!

Lin Yiyi looked over at Meng Yuran. “Your classmates left already?”

“Uh huh.”

Meng Yuran moved his cold look away from the affectionate Lu Xun and onto his mother. “They need to go work on their homework.”

They had been waiting for Meng Yuran’s homework to copy from, so once they got their hands on the homework that was fresh off the press, they quickly bid their farewell and took off.

What an awful thing that the teenagers who were so well fed and only wanted to roll into bed and take a nap still have to finish their homework in tears?

Luckily, they were friends with the valedictorian! With the valedictorian’s homework in hand, of course they’d just copy it!

Lin Yiyi nodded after she heard that. Then, turning toward Lu Xun, she asked, “Your nephew is just next door. How come you didn’t go join him?”

How was he so shameful to bump food off her instant son?!

Lu Mingzhe has such a pitiful past and he was the teenager’s only relative. He should be more caring toward him, not coming over to this side to have dinner. Where was his self-awareness as a parent?!

Lin Yiyi’s judgmental look poked at him.

Had she not known that both Lu Mingzhe and Meng Yuran brought with them their own friends and didn’t want it to be awkward as their friends were not familiar with each other, she almost wanted to put them in the same private room.

At the time, when the two teenagers learned of her plan, they immediately expressed that they had more friends coming and that that would be a very, very bad idea!

Lu Xun felt even more unjust for himself.

“He didn’t want to eat with me.” He played the misery card. “Besides, there were so many of them. I can’t possibly fight over the food with them.”

There were so many of them. There was no way he would stand a chance among that group of teenagers, alright?

He had been there himself. Teenagers that age had a very good appetite. He worried that there wouldn’t be enough food for him!

Meng Yuran gave him a look. He didn’t want to have Lu Mingzhe’s food but his was okay?

The teenager was even more displeased now.

Lu Mingzhe walked in when Lin Yiyi was about done eating. He wasn’t surprised when he saw the three of them inside of the private room.

When Lu Mingzhe walked inside, Meng Yuran’s ice-cold look moved away from Lu Xun and aimed straight at him.

Lu Mingzhe did not pay him much attention but found himself a spot and took a seat.

Lu Xun figured that his classmates, much like those of Meng Yuran, had taken off to go finish their homework at home. He said to him, “You don’t have to wait for me. Don’t you still have homework to do? I know your school has a lot of homework. Don’t mind me. I’ll head home later.”

“I have already completed them.”

Lu Xun was speechless.

Lin Yiyi quickly chimed in. “I asked Zhe to wait for me. I’ll give him a ride home.”

Give him a ride home? Whatever for?!

Lu Xun and Meng Yuran were on the same wavelength at that very moment and both had the same thought in mind.

Lu Xun, “He’s a healthy adult with plenty of money. He can find a ride home himself.”

Meng Yuran sneered. “It’s poor form to always be scheming to bump a ride from someone else, don’t you think?”

All of the sudden, the two of them had a lot of tacit understanding.

“You will still have some time to review if you head home now. Little kids shouldn’t stay up too late at night,” said Lu Xun. “Besides, I haven’t seen Shanshan yet. I miss that little girl. She even gave me a call after school today.”

No way he would head back so early. He should first send his annoying nephew home!

Meng Yuran paused a little.

Then he said to the uncle and nephew duo. “No need for the trouble. Why don’t the two of you head on home together? It’s almost 8 o’clock and almost Shanshan’s bedtime.”

Lu Xun and Lu Mingzhe, “……”

Meng Yuran was still on his side up to just a minute ago. How could he!

This ungrateful little brat!

Lu Xun stared at Meng Yuran with a disgruntled look.
