Chapter 38 Relieving His Childhood, A Childish Victory

While Alister was deep in thought for his next plans in this world, Alister heard a knocking sound on his door. He got up from his bed and opened the door.

What Alister saw after the door was opened was his parent's tall figures along with his younger sister Alice. His father was Kris Wright while his mother was July Wright.

Alister didn't have that much impression of his parents. After all, even if they were his biological parents, but he wasn't emotionally attached to them due to his past life experience.

As much as possible, he wanted to alienate himself from his parents. After all, fetters such as family bonds would only become his weakness and he didn't want that to happen.

The only exception to that was his lovers since he wouldn't choose a weak girl who couldn't accompany him on his path to godhood. After all, even Lynn was quite powerful as she was the second strongest in the world.

'Speaking of Lynn, could I meet her this early? It's quite interesting to meet the child version of Lynn. As long as I meet Lynn this early, the two of us could become childhood sweethearts and go to the same school or something like that.'

'Of course, I'll only do that after I dealt with Yun Ren and prevent Alice's abduction.'

That thought process was only in milliseconds. If Alister had wanted to, his SSS-rank reaction time and speed could easily traverse the world in microseconds.

Since it only took milliseconds, it has only been a blink of an eye since Alister and his parents made eye contact with him after the door was opened.

After seeing Alister, his father Kris immediately asked him, "Son, are you ready to attend preschool?"

When Alister heard Kris' inquiry, he shook his head and responded, "Father, can I not attend preschool? I am a prodigy, I don't need to attend preschool!"

Alister's childish words only made Kris take his words lightly. After all, it was just a rambling of a child which was mostly nonsense.

Kris decided to lecture his son, "Sigh, Alister. When I was your age, I also thought I was a prodigy. But I realized I was the student with the lowest score in my class."

'It's not my fault that you are dumb.' Alister thought but he decided to listen quietly to his father's lecture.

It took a quarter of a minute's worth of his father's preaching until his father was done. It was too long that his younger sister was already carried by his mother as Alice had fallen asleep.

"Ahem, are you listening, Alister?"

"Yes, father. I am listening."

"So are you ready to attend preschool?"

"No, father. I am too smart to attend it."

When Kris heard his son's reply, he sighed and shook his head again. Afterward, another round of preaching occurred.

This time, it took half an hour. It was too long that his mother had left with Alice.

So outside Alister's room on his doorstep was the father and son having a long lecture.

Whenever his father asked him to attend preschool, Alister would deny it and his father had to continue his lecture again. This cycle continued for at least six times until his father's throat was parched from the continuous preaching.

'Fuck! My son is too stubborn! Did he inherit this from his mother?!'

Kris didn't expect that having a son was this difficult especially when his son was too stubborn and kept on insisting on his idea.

"Wait, son. I shall return."

Feeling that his throat had already gone dry from the continuous preaching, Kris went to the kitchen to drink a pitcher of water.

After feeling refreshed, Kris continued another round of preaching to his son Alister.

Knowing his father's intention, Alister only scoffed and mocked his father in his mind, 'Father, father. My mental fortitude has been tempered after slaughtering a billion humans and zombies yet you don't see me acting like a psychopath.'

'It will take more than this if you want me to listen to you.'

His father was stubborn, but Alister was also stubborn. The father and son continued another round of preaching and it took too long that July had to call the two of them for dinner.

After Alister and Kris ate dinner, Kris continued to preach to his son again but Alister kept on insisting on his opinion of not attending preschool.

In the end, Kris realized that his son wouldn't give up and he didn't want to waste a week preaching Alister so he reconciled with Alister.

Afterward, since it was bedtime, Alister went to his bed with a smile on his face. It was the smile of victory.

"I have to say, it's quite fun reliving my childhood. Even my father's preaching could no longer affect me."

"Father thinks that he was smart enough to force me to answer high school-level exam papers next week to decide whether I am a prodigy or not. But even if he had forced me to answer college exam papers, that would only be child's play."

When Alister recalled his victory against his father, he showed a childish grin on his face as he looked above the ceiling, lying on his bed.

Afterward, Alister remembered something when he was reading his father's mind which caused him to frown.

"It seems that my father had already suffered from the million-dollar debt at this time. It was only two years after that he sold Alice which means that he was at his wit's end at that time."

"From a rational perspective, this is indeed the best choice. Sacrifice Alice to free himself from debt so that he can continue to raise me. Unfortunately, they never expected that Yun Ren didn't trust them and still caused them to die in an 'accident', leaving me as an orphan."

"My goal for now is to earn money to help my parents free themselves from their debt. And the easiest way to do that is to use my mind control superpower, go out on an adventure, be labeled as a missing child, and then get myself a rich and powerful Godfather."

After drafting his plans in his mind, Alister went to bed.
