Chapter 52 Netter Roommate
Xia Xiaoluo almost walked into the classroom as the class bell rang. Because she was kind of late, the back row was already full, and there was only a vacancy next to that jerk, Fang Ruichen. However, Xia Xiaoluo would like to sit in the first row to listen to the teacher’s instructions rather than to sit with him.
Fang Ruichen waved to her, but she just ignored him and sat in the first row.
Fang Ruichen was annoyed at once. The reason why he came early in the morning to occupy the seats was to sit with her, not for listening to the lesson together but bickering with each other, and the most he wanted was to sleep in class with her. Unexpectedly, he never thought she was that ungrateful. He pounded on the desk, which caught surrounding classmates’ attention.
“What’re you staring at? It’s time for class. Listen carefully!” He murmured angrily to the others.
He did feel unhappy, but he could do nothing to change Xia Xiaoluo’s mind.
It was a Marxist philosophy. Although the old professor wearing black-framed thick glasses on the podium poured out his words unceasingly, the students did not listen to him at all. Those in the back rows were playing phones, reading novels, and chatting...
Sitting in the first row within sight of the professor, Xia Xiaoluo could do nothing, and she was somewhat regretful, for if she knew the situation, she would have sat with Fang Ruichen. Thus, at least she could take out her phone and played some games.
Seeing her painful condition from the back, Fang Ruichen gloated over that, and he texted a message to her.
Xia Xiaoluo felt a vibration from her jeans pocket. Thinking it was a message from Ling Tianyi, she immediately took out the phone, but she didn’t expect that it was from that jerk.
“Little Pig Xia, don’t feel good in the first row, do you? This is your punishment for refusing my invitation. You ask for it! I curse you enjoy a boring time in the first row. LOL!”
Xia Xiaoluo did feel extremely bored. After reading his message, she could not stand it anymore and raised her hand.
Noticing someone’s hand up, the professor stopped and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Professor, I’ve got an upset stomach. May I go to the restroom?” Xia Xiaoluo pretended to be painful, waiting for the professor’s reaction.
“Oh, I see! Yes, you may leave earlier if you don’t feel well. Health is the most important thing.” As her wish, the professor let her leave the hell-like classroom.
Bending over, Xia Xiaoluo put her hand on the stomach and left the classroom with a painful look. However, when the old professor looked back at the textbook, she turned back and showed a provocative smile to Fang Ruichen, which made him angrier.
After leaving the classroom, Xia Xiaoluo went back to her dorm, since there was still an hour before lunch. Dorms in Dwichen’s College were all well furnished with kitchen, balcony, and bathroom, and even with fridge, air conditioner, microwave oven, and electronic oven...
Each dorm was a double room with good environment!
Entering her dorm where she had never been to, Xia Xiaoluo saw a short hair beauty leaning on the bed, who was using her laptop surfing the Internet while eating potato chips.
“Hello, I’m Xia Xiaoluo, your roommate.” Xia Xiaoluo began her introduction first.
“I’m Luo Xixi, not only your roommate, but also your classmate.” Luo Xixi played her laptop on the bed lazily.
“Well, I think you look familiar, so I might have seen you in the classroom before. Why didn’t you go to class today?” Xia Xiaoluo asked.
“That professor teaching Marxist philosophy is famous for his good nature. Although his lesson sucks, he never calls the roll and never ever flunks anybody. If it’s so, why do I need to go to class? I don’t want to waste my time in the classroom. I just wanna surf the Internet in my dorm and enjoy myself!”
“Wow, good for you. You know what, the Marxist philosophy is too boring. I pretended to have the runs and left in the middle of it.” Xia Xiaoluo thought her roommate was brilliant, for she had such a foresight.
“There’re so many people in the college, so it’s our fate to live in the same dorm! For the sake of that, I tell you, among all the lessons in this semester, you can merely skip the Marxist philosophy, and it’s the only one you won’t fail. The toughest one is the General English. If there’s a lesson, there’s a rolling call. No, to be exact, the foreign teacher of that course takes pictures in his class to check those who skip his lessons at the end of the semester. As for the other courses, less rolling call, but tougher in the final.” Luo Xixi finished her words, getting a bottle of water for herself—she was thirsty because of the chips.
After drinking some water, she continued, “Xia Xiaoluo, I’ve told you all the things I know, so I’ve fulfilled my duty as your roommate. As for how to skip class properly, it depends on you.”
“Thank you, Luo Xixi. Well, do you always stay in the dorm?” Xia Xiaoluo asked.
“I live in City F, not far from here. For me, everywhere is the same as long as there’s Wi-Fi.” Saying that, Luo Xixi went back to her bed to go online.
Xia Xiaoluo put her things away and got a little bored. She stole several glances at Luo Xixi, who was busy surfing the Internet, and found she was absolutely a beauty with good looking, and an inappropriate crew cut. Through the sports clothes and bags aside, Xia Xiaoluo could tell she was totally different from those Kardashians in Dwichen’s. Anyway, she liked a roommate like Luo Xixi, who would never bully her.
Xia Xiaoluo’s stomach rumbled. She touched it and said to Luo Xixi, “Er, it’s almost noon. I’m hungry. How about we go for lunch together!”
“No, thank you. I’ll eat instant noodles. Going out for a meal will take me at least one hour, while I can spend it on the Internet. Things in the fridge and cabinet are all my stocks. If you don’t mind, just help yourself.” Luo Xixi didn’t look up but playing her laptop.
Xia Xiaoluo did not mind that, and she picked out two cups of instant noodles, some hams and other ingredients, and walked to the little kitchen in the dorm.
She was good at cooking, so it just took her about ten minutes to serve two cups of instant noodles with hams, a plate of sliced beef, and a bowl of vegetable soup made from the only lettuce from the fridge.
“Luo Xixi, lunch’s ready.” Xia Xiaoluo called her with pride, and she would like to show off her cook skill.
“Wow, it’s awesome. Xia Xiaoluo, I love you. Today I can have a good lunch.” Luo Xixi looked at Xia Xiaoluo’s “masterpiece” excitedly.
However, although there was a delicious meal, Luo Xixi would never forget her laptop. She put it on the table, playing it while eating.
“Xia Xiaoluo, I never thought the instant noodles you make is that tasteful.” Luo Xixi exclaimed.
“I don’t make it simply with boiling water, but cooking it in a pan. I also add some hams and preserved vegetables in. Don’t just eat what’s in your cup. I sliced the beef jerky you bought, and I’ve made vegetable soup. Instant noodle is too greasy, but you can enjoy it with some soup.” Xia Xiaoluo was very proud. She liked the praise about her cook skills from other people.
“You are an ideal type of womanhood!” Luo Xixi’s words made her blush.
The lesson in the afternoon was the awful General English. No matter how difficult for Luo Xixi to leave her laptop, she had to go to the classroom with Xia Xiaoluo.
Fang Ruichen had been looking for Xia Xiaoluo all the noon; he had searched the canteen, dance room, and all the food stands outside the campus, but in vain. He had called her, but she didn’t answer it. He was both angry and anxious, and about to drive himself mad.
Finally seeing her, Fang Ruichen just grabbed at her arm, “Xia Xiaoluo, where did you go?”
“I’ve got an upset stomach and went to rest in my dorm. Isn’t that okay?” She stared at him with anger.
“You do have the runs?” Fang Ruichen asked.
“Of course!” Xia Xiaoluo kept telling him a lie, but Luo Xixi didn’t care about what they said and merely went to sit in the last row of the classroom. Xia Xiaoluo followed her, sitting next to her, while Fang Ruichen sat down by her side without hesitation.
“There’re so many seats. Why you sit here?” Xia Xiaoluo didn’t want to sit next to him, for fear he would play tricks with her.
“I just like here. It’s a nice seat with good Fengshui.” Fang Ruichen leaned back with a comfortable look.
“Fine, then you keep your nice seat. I’ll change my seat.” Saying that, Xia Xiaoluo was about to stand up when Fang Ruichen pulled her back.
“What are you doing?” Xia Xiaoluo stared at him.
“No changing.” After that, Fang Ruichen whispered to Xia Xiaoluo before she talked back, “You must obey my order this month. Forget it?”
“Humph!” Xia Xiaoluo could do nothing but stay where she was.
Fang Ruichen succeeded, so he felt very pleasant and started humming. Xia Xiaoluo covered her ears and said, “Big Pig Fang, stop! It doesn’t sound good!”
Fang Ruichen didn’t mind her complaint, keeping his humming. After a song, Fang Ruichen pushed her hands aside and said, “From now on, you’ve got a new task, occupy a seat for me every day. It must be in the last row, and you must sit next to me to serve me whenever I need. What’s more, don’t call me Big Pig Fang. You’re my sidekick, so you must call me boss.”
Xia Xiaoluo was busy with planning how to skip more courses according to the information Luo Xixi told her, so she just said to him, “Come on, my boss. What if I want to skip a class?”
Fang Ruichen smiled. He didn’t expect that Xia Xiaoluo didn’t like study just like him.
However, he didn’t want to miss the chance to spite her, so he said on purpose, “Don’t skip any class. You don’t want to study hard, but I want. You can’t involve me in.”
“Ugh!” Xia Xiaoluo scorns at him, how could someone who sat in the last row every time and slept in class claim that he wanted to study hard. If he loved to study, she could have been a professor at the college.
“It’s settled! Tomorrow’s Appreciation of Classic Poetry is in the first and second class period, so don’t forget my seat. If you want to take a good seat, you must get the school an hour earlier. Aha, Xia Xiaoluo, you can’t sleep late tomorrow.” Fang Ruichen smiled smugly.
Xia Xiaoluo had no choice but obeying his order, for it was her fault to give him a handle!
