Chapter 284

February 24th, 2021, 11:30 (U.S.T 23rd, 10:30)

Washington D.C., the White House’s Oval Office, U.S.A.

President Trump’s video call with President Suh Hyun-woo of Corea ended three hours ago. When he was done, he immediately called Chairman Victoria of the USSC. He notified her about how Corea had general intelligence about the USSC. Chairman Victoria had ordered him to use every available tactical weapon against Corea.

If America used another tactical nuclear weapon like the proton torpedo against Corea again, that could come back to haunt the nation, for it used nuclear weapons against a nation that did not own any. However, chairman Victoria pressed on. She concluded there was only one solution for the issue about the Corean government being aware of their actions and presence.

They had to be victorious in the war against Corea and punish every government official, including the president, as war criminals, then reorganize the Corean government and appoint individuals who were pro-American. That was the only way the USSC could continue to hide its existence from the public and manipulate America from behind the scenes.

Chairman Victoria had already instructed Rocky, the member of the USSC council in charge of the Department of Defense, to have the Joint Chief of Staff prepare to launch nuclear weapons as soon as President Trump gave the order. President Trump approved the use of all nuclear weapons against Corea and gave the authority to the Secretary of Defense, John Wayne.

Over 500 rounds of ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles) were set to be launched to the Corean Peninsula as its military marched to Tokyo. The American air force’s nuclear weapons center inputted the coordinates for the missiles being operated by the 20th missile force. The missiles were all ready and standing by for launch.

Out of the 500 rounds of ICBMs, 100 of them were equipped with nuclear warheads. In short, the American military was attempting to wipe out every military facility in Corea off the map.

“Mr. President! Place the missile’s launch key here, and input the final launch code here, sir.”

Lieutenant General Bob Perry, the commander of the air force’s global strike command (the global strike command was in charge of all of the air force’s nuclear weapons, the 8th air force’s B-1B tactical bombers, B-2A bombers, the 20th missile force’s LGM-30G and LGM-30F ICBMs), visited the White House himself and explained the functions of a console housed inside a briefcase to the president.

There were already two keys in the console. One was the Commander-in-Chief DeMarcus Dunford’s, and the other was Secretary of Defense John Wayne’s.

“I understand.”

President Trump pulled out a small golden key from a safe and placed it to the slot Commander Bob Perry had pointed to. Then, he inputted the codes on a display screen.

“It’s done, Mr. President! Every process is complete, and all we need now is the final order, sir.”

The approval process for the use of nuclear missiles, which could put an end to humanity, consisted of four stages, and the final process had just been completed.

“Set the time of launch to when the Corean military starts marching into Tokyo.

“Yes, sir. We have received your final approval, Mr. President!”

Lieutenant General Bob Perry recorded the president’s approval on a recording device. He got up from his seat, saluted the president, and walked out of the Oval Office with the briefcase housing the launch console.

When the three keys were inserted into the console and the president inputted the launch code, the launch button became active at the three missile bases under the 20th missile force of the air force.

Seoul Jongro-ku Blue House national situation emergency center, underground bunker, the president’s office.

“Mr. President! Did things go over smoothly with President Putin?” Chief Secretary Na Sung-tae asked with a concerned look on his face.

“Ah, yes! President Putin actually accepted the offer enthusiastically.”

“That’s a relief. I was concerned with what we would do about the war if Russia started to intervene as well.”

National Security Director Oh Jang-soo, joined the conversation and responded with a confident tone, “Russia must be checking the situation in real-time as well, and they should be aware by now that our military power is not like it once was through their intelligence agencies. I am sure Russia will not be able to easily deny our requests now.”

“Haha, I hope Russia and Putin think that way as well. It seems Minister Kang is running a bit late.”

Chief secretary Na Sung-tae glanced at the clock hanging on the wall.

Speaking of the devil.

When the president mentioned Minister Kang, the intercom alerted the president of the Minister of National Defense’s arrival.

Knock, knock knock.

“Apologies, Mr. President. Sorry for being a bit late, sir.” Minister Kang Hyun-soo opened the office doors and bowed.

“Yes. We were waiting eagerly. Now! Let’s go.”

The chief secretary and the national security director both stood up with the president.

They were all scheduled to watch the march to Tokyo from the Joint Chief of Staff’s command center. The president and his entourage took the Hyperloop mothership connected to the B2 bunker in Yongsan and headed there.

Seoul Yongsan-ku B2 bunker (ROK military joint command center)

Ten minutes later, the president and his entourage arrived at the B2 bunker in Yongsan. They took the elevator and arrived at the command center.

“Salute to the president!”

“Loyalty!”

When President Suh Hyun-woo entered the command center, Chairman Kang Ui-sik and 100 of his men all saluted the president in a disciplined manner. President Suh Hyun-woo also saluted the men.

“Loyalty!”

“At ease!”

President Suh Hyun-woo had visited the command center multiple times, but the tension was at an all-time high that day. It wasn’t this tense when the war against China broke out. Every single person in the room was anxious, from the lowest ranking NCOs, to Cos, and even the generals.

In ten minutes, the largest offensive operation in Corea’s history would begin. So, all the well-trained soldiers in the command center were feeling tense.

“Everyone! I know you are all hard at work. Thanks to your efforts, the citizens of our nation and myself are all able to sleep peacefully at night. I am grateful for all of your hard work, and I beg you to do your best until the war is over.”

There was no planned address by the president when he visited. However, he saw how tense the atmosphere of the room was, and he attempted to use it to ease the tension of the men and raise morale.

“Mr. President, your seat is here, sir.” Chairman Kang politely pointed to a seat set at the center of the command center.

“Ah! Chairman Kang, thank you.”

When the president took his seat, the Minister of National Defense, the National Security Director, and the Chief Secretary all sat down as well. Then, the chairman and other military generals took their seats. They were 10 minutes away from marching into Tokyo.

A large digital map of Tokyo was on display on the main screen. The other screens placed on both sides showed the multiple digital maps of America.

“RJ to 1945, stage 5 will commence in 10 minutes!” Someone’s voice rang across the entire command center. All eyes in the room started to watch the numerous screens.

When 10 minutes finally passed, Vice-chairman Shin Sung-yong, who took the command for this mission, stood up from his seat and alerted the start of the mission through his headset.

“We will now begin the fifth and final stage of RJ to 1945. Order each force that is prepared to march into Tokyo to begin.”

When Vice-chairman Shin gave the order, every communication operator swiftly relayed the order to their respective forces.

February 24th, 2021, 12:00

The Chuo Highway, Uenohara, Yamanashi Prefecture, Honshu, Japan

Orders to start marching into Tokyo came through the army’s strategic command to the 20th armored division. They were standing by at the Chuo Highway 15km away from Uenohara, 15km away from the road leading to Tokyo.

-We will now start the march to Tokyo. Each force’s battalion commander is to move along their designated route swiftly. Move out. –

Major General Ahn Gook-jin, the division commander of the 20th armored division gave the order to march. Over 1,000 tanks and armored vehicles all fired up their engines and started to speed towards Tokyo.

The 16 FAH-91SP Peregrine Falcon choppers flew along with the tanks on the ground in a horizontal formation to guard the skies.

Vrooo~ Vrooo~

The 26th armored battalion, which took the lead for the brigade as usual, started to rev up the engines of the White Tiger tanks and started to mobilize towards Tokyo.

“All right, let’s take down at least 100 Jap tanks!”

“Ah! Master Sergeant Oh, sir! Don’t you think 100 wouldn’t be enough? I think we need to at least take down 200, wouldn’t you agree, sir?”

“God! Staff Sergeant Kim and Master Sergeant Oh, you’re both full of bluffs. This is not good!”

“What did you just say? Huh! How dare you butt in on a conversation between NCOs when you’re just a sergeant?”

“Ah, yes! Sorry, sir.”

“Haha, Sergeant Yeom! Just watch out for what’s ahead of us and keep driving! Don’t ram into the enemy tanks before we reach Tokyo.”

“Sir! How could a driver of the top gun make such a stupid mistake?”

“Hey! See! You’re bluffing as well.”

“Ha ha ha, is that so? I don’t think so, sir. I’m just speaking the truth.”

“Shut up, sergeant.”

The crew of the 712 tank was joking around to ease up before the battle started. The sounds of cannon fire from the rear rang across the area. Explosions started to litter downtown Hachioji, the first gateway to Tokyo. The 20th armored division’s artillery brigade must have started their attack.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The continued sounds of cannon fire had alerted the men of the 20th armored division that the march to Tokyo had finally started. They were not anxious, but rather full of confidence and morale was high.

The rounds fired by the division’s artillery brigade had turned downtown Hachioji into a living hell. The high-rise and low-rise buildings all collapsed after being hit by the 155mm rounds. The entire city was being engulfed by hellfire after the 91st artillery battalion used their C-137 Fire Drake MLRS to launch 200mm rockets.

The Japanese citizens who could not evacuate were crushed by the collapsed buildings or killed by the shrapnel of the rounds. Their bodies were all torn up and unrecognizable. The Corean military had sent out drones to spread flyers warning the citizens to flee. However, most of them did not think that the Corean military would attack the city and stayed behind. Thus, civilian casualties in Japan started to rise rapidly.
