Han Zhifan was just two meters away from Cheng Weiwan, but she didn’t respond in the slightest as though she hadn’t noticed someone was approaching at all.

Han Zhifan didn’t disturb her but just stood at the bathroom door, quietly staring at her.

After an unknown amount of time, he saw that the skin of her fingertips was peeling from being washed for a long period of time.

He thought about what the housekeeper said to him when he went upstairs.

If no one interrupts her, will she hold that position forever?

Han Zhifan stared at Cheng Weiwan’s fingertips for a moment, which were unbelievably pale and peeled. In the end, he couldn’t help but walk over and stand behind her.

He was so close to her, yet she didn’t react at all.

“Cheng Weiwan, what are you doing?”

She seemed to be completely unaware of her surroundings. She kept her head down and repeatedly washed her hands.

“Cheng Weiwan?” Han Zhifan cried Cheng Weiwan’s name again. Seeing as she didn’t respond again, he reached out and grabbed her arm.

With someone touching her, it still took her a minute to raise her head very slowly.

Through the mirror, Han Zhifan could see that her empty pupils had no focus.

From what he remembered, her eyes were very pretty, calm as the ocean waves, and beautifully charming with the power to make people feel at peace. Now, he couldn’t find that breathtaking look in her eyes. The lifeless glow in her eyes was like a sharp dagger, stabbing his heart.

Han Zhifan’s breathing was painfully stifled as he instinctively furrowed his brows.

Cheng Weiwan didn’t see Han Zhifan’s expression changing. In fact, she was still frozen in place. After a while, she realized someone had touched her arm. Then she slowly turned her head and scanned the hand Han Zhifan was holding onto then she traced her gaze up Han Zhifan’s arm, bit by bit. In the end, her eyes met Han Zhifan’s eyes.

She had a dazed expression, appearing not to recognize him.

When his gaze met hers, Han Zhifan pushed down his heartache and spoke again. “Just going to use the toilet.”

His voice confirmed that it was him, Han Zhifan, standing in front of her. She instinctively lowered her eyes and withdrew her gaze.

She continued to stand on the same spot for a short while. Then as though she realized what he just said, she quickly turned around and walked out of the bathroom.

By the time he stepped out of the bathroom, Cheng Weiwan was nowhere to be seen.

Han Zhifan walked out of the room and pushed open the door to the baby’s room next door.

Cheng Han was still sleeping. Cheng Weiwan sat in a chair by the bed, watching over Cheng Han.

This time, she wasn’t the same as she was earlier in the bathroom. She didn’t notice he was getting closer. He pushed the door open and took just two steps when she turned her head and looked over at him.

She silently and quickly withdrew her gaze.

Han Zhifan didn’t utter a word either and walked over to the bedside while staring at Cheng Han in bed for a while. Then he shot the nanny a look. After she left, he bent down and sat on the nanny’s seat.

Han Zhifan and Cheng Weiwan sat on opposite sides of the baby’s bed.

The two of them didn’t talk, so the room was incredibly quiet.

But after a short while, Cheng Weiwan woke up.
