A Failure's hopeful Journey

Chapter 209: Awakening.

The team stood outside the edifice. They had just finished their discussion about the martial spirit. Fenny was about to say something when the space outside the space locking array fluctuated. She yelled, "Alert."

The team immediately fell into formation, secured the captive dark dweller in the middle. The cold weapon holders took the front supported by the gunners. The two brawlers were left free. The snipers took brought up the rear. They switched the sniper guns with spirit bows. As soon as they detected the slightest malice they will take action regardless of the opponent's realm of cultivation. The space cracked and a woman in a white robe appeared in front of them. 

Yuki spoke, "Who is it?"

The woman spoke, "It seems that my material nephew has a really good team. I am Animo Albus, You Zhichi is my disciple while your captain is my martial nephew." her words had just finished when Yuki's com echoed with You Zhichi's voice. The heavenly maiden spoke, "Yuki, my master is on the way to you guys. Also, where is Xi Wang? I tried to contact him but seems like his com is out of reach."

Yuki replied, "I will get back to you in a bit big sis, Senior is already here." the other side replied with a hum and Yuki nodded to Fenny without turning her head. Fenny spoke, "At ease." her words made the team put down the weapons. They all then bowed to Animo Albus, "FORGIVE US FOR BEING RUDE SENIOR."josei

Animo Albus nodded in repetition, this team was well disciplined and these kids apologized to her. Even though they were not wrong for being alert this apology signified their stance to her. She took a step forward and the jade stones buried around the building flew over to her. The team became somewhat uneasy, and Animo Albus spoke, "Don't worry, with me here. I want to see who dares to interrupt the proceedings."

The team nodded and stood behind her, leaving the sack of a dark dweller whimper on the ground. Animo Albus raised her head to glance at the top of the edifice. She spoke, "Stage two, sword intent. This little guy is indeed a monster among monsters." 

Yuki and the others took off their masks. Neo spoke, "Senior, thank you. You are the first person who did not see this guy as a handsome male god but a monster."

The rest of the team chuckled and Animo Albus smiled. She found it very interesting that these little guys were not afraid of her identity as a Nirvana Rebirth expert. Well after some thought it was natural. These guys could deal with a primal soul realm cultivator so it was fairly easy to get along with Nirvana Rebirth experts who had a calm temperament. Their cherry mood changed when they heard a soul-shaking wail from the top floor.

On the top floor, Edward Colt knelt on the ground wailing in pain. His left hand was on the floor, twitching slightly, detached from the body. In the previous attack, You Xi Wang cut off his hand. He roared and looked at You Xi Wang who was covered with a golden glow. He spoke in his hoarse voice, "You bastard, I will make you regret this." then with his right hand, he fished out a pill and chewed on it. Then he picked up his twitching left arm from the floor and joined it back with his left shoulder. 

The pill he ate was the taboo pill. Rejuvenation Embryo Pill. This pill was capable of healing any amputation. This pill was tagged as taboo because the method to procure this pill was abominable. The blood of 100 fetuses was extracted from pregnant women and then it was refined in a pill along with some other herbs. As described the pill did its work and the detached tissues started to reconnect at a speed visible to the naked eye. 

You Xi Wang still stood calmly, looking at all this as if it had no effect on him. Edward Colt soon stood up and wielded his sword. Then he rared at rushed at You Xi Wang. This time You Xi Wang did not retaliate and just kept fighting with Edward Colt as if it was a sparring battle. Soon the intent of the weapon accumulated again and this time You Xi Wang did not use it instead he changed his weapon. He did not store purgatory back in its sheath but let it fly in the void and he took out his Divine Thorn (the golden Spear). 

He started to face Edward Colt with his dance of the War God. The battle was intense the two people were dripping with sweat. You Xi Wang had a lot of small and big cuts on his body while the same was true for Edwar Colt. You Xi Wang has been accumulating the intent of weapons. This accumulated intent was not to attack Edward Colt. He accumulated it to awaken the martial spirit sleeping deep in his blood. This was a condition to awaken the spirit. The God of War would only awaken when the pinnacle of weapon intent is sensed and assimilated in the blood inside the body. 

You Xi Wang called for the system in his mind, 'System, start assimilating the intent of weapons in my blood.'

The system immediately responded, [Are you fucking kidding me? This shit needs you to be calm and not a battle-raging maniac. How do you expect me to do this?]

You Xi Wang replied, 'I will keep my mind clear. He cannot affect me. Neither can his blabber. I have a way to solve his mouth problem. You just start the process.'

The system cursed You Xi Wang, still it went on with the process of assimilating the intent of the weapon with his blood. While You Xi Wang suddenly exchanged the golden spear with his Mitsubishi dagger leaving the spear out just like his sword. Edward Colt stabbed You Xi Wang, he was prepared for a parry but how was he to know that You Xi Wang would let his sword cut stab through his right pectoral. What's more shocking was that You Xi Wang even rushed forward to close the distance with him. Then this battle maniac teenager raised his left hand and the dagger in his hand stabbed through Edward Colts lower jaw coming out of his tongue. If You Xi Wang exerted more strength then this knife could have penetrated his head. Yet he left him alive to help him accumulate more weapon intent. 

Inside his body, the system slowly assimilated the intent of weapons condensed in his soul sea with his blood. The blood was sharp and if not for the protection and control of the system this intent of weapons could have shredded You Xi Wang from inside. This process needed one to be extremely calm but You Xi Wang was doing this while fighting. He believed that if one wanted to awaken the martial spirit of the War God then he should be in a war to do that, because how could you be a god of war while at peace. 

You Xi Wang was fighting with the mute Edward Colt without holding back. Now the white battle suit was stained with blood and the wounds were hideous. You Xi Wang called for Maya to cast an illusion over Edward Colt to help him catch some breath and allow the system to fasten up the process. 

But Edward Colt was also a genius. He realized what Maya wanted to do when her eyes flashed white. He interrupted the process and just like when a high-speed train is abruptly stopped, it will derail. Maya also suffered a backlash and she coughed up blood. You Xi Wang shared the burden. He staggered and also coughed up blood. Edward Colt saw this sight and was ecstatic. He slowly walked up to Maya step by step with a cruel grin on his face. 

He used his soul sense and said, "Young master You, now you will die like a dog. Hahaha, did you understand?" his crazy laughter rang out on the floor. Despite being injured he laughed out loud. To him You Xi Wang was dead, on the other side, the staggering boy stabilized. His eyes glowed with golden light. He raised his head to the sky and roared. The roar was so strong that the glass windows shattered directly. Edward Colt was shocked by this sudden change and before losing his consciousness he spoke to Maya with his spirit bond, 'Maya, Hide.'

Maya had her beast instincts. She cowered when she heard the roar and when You Xi Wang spoke hide. The beast did not delay and ran away using the shadow steps. Inside the room, there was a blinding golden glow.

Downstairs, everyone saw the blinding golden glow. Animo Albus spoke, "Call You Zhichi, over. Only she can stop the rampage of the War God. We are all retreating to some distance. Let's go." her tone was calm but in her eyes was an glint of fear, interest and anticipation. The whole team retreated with her word. They all knew what has happened. The War God was woken up.
