Chapter 229: Encounter.

A dust cloud rose in the ring as the two people collided. The audience sensed a tremor passing through the ground. This impact was still contained by the safety arrays. You Zhichi smiled faintly. The others, who were looking down on You Xi Wang suddenly felt something fishy. 

The dust settled and two figures standing opposite each other came into vision. Klaus was standing tall holding his sword but his face was pale. You Xi Wang was still relaxed as his spear stood beside him. Klaus closed his eyes and some color appeared on his face. He said to You Xi Wang, "You are strong. I admit defeat." his expression was pained. You Xi Wang's attack dispelled his own attack and even managed to make him come to an abrupt stop. 

This showed how fine was You Xi Wang's control over his energy output and according to him this was just one of his cards. Klaus felt pained in admitting defeat but he had to show respect to the person who let him off easy. If the impact would have been stronger then Klaus might have sustained injuries. 

You Xi Wang sensed the pain in his voice. Klaus was a young man and the system has told him that he was being watched by some experts. During the fight, he had developed a good impression of the opponent so he said in a calm manner, "Those who can look past a momentary defeat will always rise higher. But if you want to give up then you better kill yourself. My opponent should be a cultivator who lives to defy heavens and not a sissy."

With that said You Xi Wang walked out of the ring. Klaus stood in the ring looking at the back of the retreating You Xi Wang. He smiled and spoke in a low voice, "One day I will win you."

You Xi Wang raised his hand without looking back and said, "I will be waiting for your challenge."

His demeanor made a lot of girls go mad, their eyes sparkled as soon as they set their gazes on his stalwart figure. He was simply a feast for their eyes. You Zhichi held her forehead and cursed in a low voice, "This poser." 

Behind her, Jack smiled and Misty chuckled. They were used to their captain pulling stunts like this. The teams then came to a big hall where 4 big rings were established. A man wearing samurai armor stood in the center of four rings. He spoke in a loud voice, "Today, we will be holding the second round of the competition. The rules are as such. 81 people will choose a lot. the one who is not paired against anyone will be then disqualified. Luck will not help you advance. Cultivation is 99% effort and if 1% luck. This is negligible. The remaining participants will be put into 9 groups of 9 people. They will fight against each other. The champion of the groups will advance to the third stage."

His words made people feel bad. After all, it was unfair to the one who is not paired and to is eliminated without a fighting chance. But the pressure the man gave off made all the protest die down before it was even born. The contestants did not delay and lined up in two queues. You Xi Wang felt a stare on his back and turned back to locate the source of origin. He saw a girl with green hair and green eyes looking at him with a curious gaze. She wore white battle armor. Her appearance was very warm. You Xi Wang could not take off his gaze. 

He sent out a mental transmission to the girl, "Miss, it is rude to stare at someone, you know?"

The girl was shocked to hear a voice inside her mind. She understood that it was You Xi Wang who sent her the transmission. She gulped a mouthful of saliva. It was fine till the first sentence but when she heard about his discovery she was in fright. You Xi Wang did send her a mental note to trust him for not leaking her secrets to anyone. Only then did the girl calm down.

You Xi Wang choose a lot from the box in front of him. It was a green ball with the number 24. You Xi Wang walked to the side and stood by his sister. He asked, "What is your number?"

You Zhichi spoke, "33."

You Xi Wang nodded and reported his number. Several of his friends came to his side as they were done choosing lots. And soon came a beauty with green hair. He was about to go over to talk to her when a group of burly men came over. The leader had a ball number 33 on his waist and beside him was a similar-looking boy with a ball 38. The leader stood in front of You Xi Wang's group and spoke to You Zhichi, "If you surrender before the fight I will spare your pretty face."

You Zhichi was calm and so was You Xi Wang. His calm hid a strong rage. You Zhichi spoke, "You can leave." her cold voice surprised the burly boy. He snorted and said, "I will break you to pieces in the ring." and he left. The guy with the number 33 seemed to be the leader but in actuality, it was the boy with the number 38 who was the leader. You Xi Wang was very calm and a smile appeared on his face. He was pissed because he heard their mental conversation. He then walked over to Gena Langford and with a smile said, "Hello, nice to meet you. I am You Xi Wang."

Gena nodded at him with a wry smile. She could not speak at all even the sign language might affect her growth and thus she did not learn it. She did not want to have any excuse to slow down her progress. You Xi Wang asked, "What is your lot number?"

Gena raised her ball and it showed 38. A very charming smile appeared on You Xi Wang's face. Yet Gena felt scared of this smile. She had a bad premonition. You Xi Wang asked after walking close to her, "Can you exchange your lot with me?"

Gena was confused. You Xi Wang sensed it and narrated how a person irritated him by being rude to his sister. Gena hesitated but then agreed. You Xi Wang thanked her and said he would invite her for a meal later. 

He parted with Gena as the contest was about to start and You Xi Wang spoke to his sister, "Kill them with Kindness."

You Zhichi nodded with a smile. She was going to make that man regret it. Are they taking her kindness and soft-spoken nature as a weakness? Humph, she will make him pay.
