A Failure's hopeful Journey

Chapter 238: Abrupt Changes.

The trio ran through the forest, skipping from branch to branch, using the thick cover to their advantage. You Xi Wang had a superior soul sense detection range and would take a detour before they encounter any magic beast. They had normal weapons and these weapons were not very useful in the long run.

After running for 30 minutes they came to a cliff. You Xi Wang manipulated the cliff wall and dug a cave inside. He made a vent overhead for airflow, after his team moved inside he closed the opening. Chen Yuping was surprised to see him using the fourth element. Gena had long known about his five elemental affinities but still, it was weird to see such a scene. 

You Xi Wang took out some dry wood twigs and sticks he picked on the run. He set them up and with a snap ignited the fire. Then with a wave of his hand, the fire falcon's carcass appeared in a corner. You Xi Wang took out a normal dagger and started to process the bird for its meat. 

Chen Yuping spoke, "Bro, how long are we hiding?"

You Xi Wang replied as he cleaned the feathers carefully, "Three days."

Gena Langford and Chen Yuping glanced at each other. The latter asked You Xi Wang, "Why?"

You Xi Wang replied, "The others will look for weapons first. They will disturb the serenity and balance of the island beasts. If any high-grade beast decided to hunt them. What will we do then? Do you want to try venturing amongst such fierce beasts?" his tone was calm but the fact he put forward increased the tension inside the cave.

You Xi Wang sensed the mood and said, "Don't worry, in three days the others will locate the weapons for us." his words confused the others. The boy smirked and called out his spirit beast.

"Maya" he spoke in a soft voice. The white-furred beauty walked out of his shadow with grace. You Xi Wang fed her the blood of the fire falcon and some of the bird's meat. He spoke, "After eating, go and recon the others, you can track them right?"

Maya nodded and spoke with her spirit bond, "I will do it big brother Xi Wang. You can count on me."

You Xi Wang ruffled her head with a sunny smile on his face. Maya returned the gesture and she also rubbed her head against him. The scene was very mellow. The three people and one beast ate the fire falcon meat with pleasure. You Xi Wang carried utensils with him. He used the blood to fry the meat. It may be gory but the nutrition was extremely important. 

After the meal, Maya went out to complete the task assigned by You Xi Wang to her. She used her stealth skills to the peak and within half an hour she located the other six people.

At this moment they were all sitting inside a cave. They were eating the dry rations. 

Maya transmitted the scene to You Xi Wang via micro camera she placed at the edge of the cave entrance. This camera was a piece of elven tech. Fenny has mastered the remote broadcast. So this was a very cool tech for recon and scouting. 

Inside the cave, Klaus Van Claud spoke, "We need to get our weapons first. If You Xi Wang is given a chance to act against us first it will be very bad."

Zen Shoto spoke, "His eyes give me a feeling of danger as if a beast glancing at its prey. Also, he has a night hound. That too a hybrid. You can not imagine how fast a sneaky Night Hound is. If it is standing behind you. You won't be able to sense its presence."

Well, what he said was correct. Maya was right behind him when he said this. The white-furred beauty almost made a sound to have some fun. The group of people decided to look for weapons and kill all the beast they find on the Island during they tried to eliminate You Xi Wang.

If they were to know that all this was transmitted to You Xi Wang on a holographic screen. The targetted person was sleeping with his right leg resting over his left leg. He was as if this is not a survival contest but a vacation. The other two people were annoyed by his casual behavior but they also knew it was not good for them to make a move right now. 

The night fell and Maya returned to his side. You Xi Wang did not ask anything. The beast sat down on all fours, yawned, and went for a nap. Gena Langford suddenly stood up and walked up to You Xi Wang. She patted his arm. The boy woke up and saw big starry green eyes glancing at him. He asked by raising his eyebrow. "What happened?"

Gena Langford ade some hand signals to him. You Xi Wang understood that it was about the original guy making a promise to her about helping her in regaining her voice. You Xi Wang asked her to sit down and then he took a hold of her wrist. The boy then placed his palm on her throat. He sensed the structure of her throat with his soul sense. 

Turns out that it's not that her throat is with vocal cords. But it can be said that her vocal cords were blocked. They were blocked by spirit energy seals. You Xi Wang ook back his hand and spoke in a solemn voice, "Does anyone in your family knows about making spirit seals?"

The girl nodded at first and then shook her head. You Xi Wang asked, "Have they left your family? What does this reaction mean?"

The girl used her hand symbols to tell him that her grandfather was the one who knew about the spirit seals, he has already passed away. You Xi Wang nodded and sighed as he spoke, "Does that mean no one in the family knows about his existence?"

Gena nodded and told him that it was his mother only, growing up she was told the stories of her grandpa. She took out a piece of paper from her sleeves. On the slip, a weird design was inscribed. You Xi Wang smiled suddenly. He said, "The day you memorize this design will be the day your spirit seals will open.

This is something left by your grandpa right? I can only say he left all his inheritance to you. You will know when you memorize it. All the best. If you can memorize it, it will be the counterspell for the spirit seals. Did you never try to read this?"

Gena Lanngfordahd tears in her eyes. She shook her hands saying that she did not know until now. She always thought that it was a random drawing of some sorts."

You XI Wang spoke, "It will be fine you will be free of these bound in two days. Go Study."

Gena bowed to him in gratitude and left. The spirit seals were similar to arrays but they were engraved with condensing the thin spirit energy into threads. It is as if embroidering a design with the spirit energy thread. The only way to open the spirit seals would be a counter design, that Gena was holding in her hands. 

It was not her fault as well, after all, the doctors could not even detect that she had vocal cords. Thus the situation. You Xi Wang saw Chen Yuping sleeping and Gena was mediating. He shrugged and went to sleep with his head resting against Maya's belly.

The other six people however were running through the forest cunningly and carefully. Any strong moment might alert the beasts and then it will be a great problem. They were searching in different directions. Before Maya returned they decided to communicate with each other if they discovered the weapon vault box. 

Suddenly the whole island shook with a thunderous roar. You Xi Wang sat up instantly while Gena and Yuping also woke up. You Xi Wang frowned and said, "Let's go this is not a magic beast, "We need to check the source and make sure the others are not in danger, or Elder Hippie will yell at us."
