Chapter 344: The True Mentalist.

You Xi Wang and You Zhichi kowtowed the lady. Griffin Tallus smiled and said in a calm voice, "Get up you two." 

The two youths stood up. The boy was surprised when he properly saw her face. The lady smiled, "You cannot read my mind. Can you?" 

You Xi Wang did not hide and shook his head. He asked, "Why is it so, Great grandmaster?" 

Griffin Tallus smiled and said, "Firstly, you can call me grandma. What is with this mouthful great grandmaster? Secondly, the reason you cannot read my mind is that before I passed this knowledge to Animus, I developed the protection methods. As the time passed, my understanding and research on this topic had advanced to the level where I can read the spirit energy in the world." 

The siblings were shocked. They looked at each other with surprise in their eyes. Griffin Tallus smiled and said, "I know that you are eager to learn, but before I teach you anything, you will have to catch up with all the pending work. Chi'er will have to learn mentalism, while Wang'er catches up with the spirit runes."josei

You Xi Wang sighed and said, "Grandma, that subject is boring." 

Griffin Tallus smiled and said, "Then find a way to may it interesting then. Also, you naughty kid will stay down here. Chi'er will come inside the treehouse with me to learn mentalism. This place has a flight restriction set up. So you will have to climb the spiral staircase." 

She said, pointing at the wooden staircase protruding from the side of the twenty-men thick trunk. You Xi Wang sighed and sat down on the ground. As You Zhichi followed Griffith Tallus, the latter said, "Boy, these stairs are all locked with spirit runes formations. If you can not comprehend them, you will be falling, and also, the spirit runes change every ten seconds." 

You Xi Wang pursed his lips and You Zhichi said without turning back, "Do not roll on the ground. I will tell Aunt Bei if you did and see how you get teased." 

She only got a reply, "BULLIES." 

He was not interested in studying the spirit runes compendium. He sat down on the rocking chair and said to the system, 'Oye, start the homework.'

The system said, [What will you do if I did a strike?]

You Xi Wang raised his eyebrow and said, 'You can surely try. Not like I consider you use anyhow.'

The system would have a vein blowing from his forehead if he had any. This guy was so shameless, that he had to give in. You Xi Wang waved his hand and out came a huge book filled with spirit runes and their uses. He used the soul energy to make the book flip open.

At the top of the tree, the trunk was emptied into a big room. Griffin Tallus lived opposite the style of You Zhen Long. The lady asked, "Chi'er, that refining demon is your ancestor?" 

You Zhichi was confused by the nickname but still nodded. Griffin Tallus said, "Well, he is an odd one. I can never stand the sight of his noisy self. Anyways, tell me something, do you know that your brother is not your brother?" 

You Zhichi was shocked but then she nodded. Griffin Tallus asked, "I can read it all but I would like you to tell me what you feel." 

The celestial maiden smiled and said, "When my parents passed away, my brother was broken and he fell with them unable to suffer the pain. When he woke up from the coma. We went straight to the graves of my parents. There he paid respect and prayed for my parents. His worship was sincere and he evoked the spirits of my parents. My mother could see through him and so could my father. 

That was when I found out that he was not my brother. However, I did not tell him because he was suffering the pain that my brother should have. Gradually, he did everything he could to make me safe, do right by our family. There was one instance when I joked with him and the guy rushed back home and banged his forehead on the floor so hard that it started bleeding and he kept begging me to not think such ideas.

He did not even hold on to his dignity for the sake of my thoughts, yet if anyone else was in the place, they would have to kill him or some of the family members to make him kneel. Imagine, this guy stared in the eyes of the god of destruction when he said he will kill us all so that You Xi Wang can cultivate faster, and replied, do not leave me alive or I will kill you miserably no matter what it takes. 

What else should a brother do? He is not completely my brother but better than my brother was. I accepted him as my brother completely, although I did not tell anyone in the family, it does not matter." 

Griffin Tallus nodded and said, "You are a big and kind-hearted girl, Chi'er. Since you have accepted him after knowing his reality I will not say anything. It is good that he is the way you have said he was. Come let me guide you." 

The difficulty mentioned by Animus supposedly did not exist for these two people. The lady taught You Zhichi all that she knew while keeping an eye on You Xi Wang. She found his soul force to be scanning the rune compendium page by page and did not say anything. Everyone has a different way of learning. 

You Xi Wang was sleeping and the system was working his ass off at the moment. After two days, the system said, [Yo, look at this. Your great grandmaster is so bloody genius that she place ever changing rune on the staircase.]

The boy woke up with a yawn and asked, "What is happening?" 

The system sighed and said, [Syncing all the data with you.]

You Xi Wang shivered when the data was flowing in his mind. The boy said, 'You, how much data did you comprehend? This should be illegal.'

His brain was buzzing with pain. As he stood up from the rocking chair and walked forward to the staircase. He snapped his fingers as soon as he raised his foot high. As he climbed up he snapped his fingers. The thing was that he could see the spirit runes floating in front of him like they were a string of data codes on a computer screen. 

His speed did not decrease but increased. The snaps became louder as he input more counter energy in the decoding. This speed of advance shocked Griffin so much that she had to stand up and come out to see the process. 

She looked at You Xi Wang climbing steadily and sighed, "This brat has mastered the ever-changing rune. Am I the true mentalist or is he?" 

You Zhichi smiled behind her and said, "Grandma, he had half of the knowledge down already. He just became even more proficient under your urging. The guy is a lazy brat through and through, otherwise, his skills would have defeated the grandmaster last time only." 

Griffin was surprised and asked, "You mean, he is already on par with Animus." 

You Zhichi nodded. Griffin Tallus said, "This unfilial disciple of mine, he is being caught up by a guy wet behind his ears. I wish I could go down there and smack his teeth out." 

The celestial maiden smiled and chuckled as she said, "Let me, show you something." 

She showed her a video of Celestia and Lily shaving Animus bald. Griffin was happy and surprised. When You Zhichi told her the identity of the two girls. The lady gave up by saying 'The younger generation is getting ahead of the elder.'
