Chapter 124: 12 Commands

"Asking me? Why?"

"Just stop pretending. Will you old bastard? I hate you. I hate you from the core of my heart. I always envied you. You were always a good child who was both handsome and intelligent. You were admired by everyone and because of you no one ever appreciates me. You were like a shadow on me. Because of you I never got to shine but you were nothing just an early bloomer. What a shame! I really thought that you would turn out stronger in future instead of it, you just became a roguish person. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, because of you I got the opportunity and see I became the lord."

"Shut up!"

Severus punched him.

"I am tired of all this. Hey old man, are you going to kill him, or should I do the honor?"

"I will"

"No" Selena interrupted.

"Please don't kill my father" Selena wanted to guard her father, but Severus grabbed her hand and stopped her.

"You can't! Selena. He had done deeds which are so horrible that I find shame even to speak"

Selena cried inside Severus' embrace. It was as if her whole world was crashing down.

Winds swished inside the room.

Soon combat started and both the brothers started fighting.

Noworry would have loved this fight.

Sigh!

I will be getting an earful after he wakes up.

"Indeed" Desella who was disguised as a maidservant whispered in Severus' ears.

"Stop scaring me like this Desella"

"Oh, my, my. You too can be scared?"

Soon a beautiful stage decorated with flowers was turned into a battleground decorated with broken shards.

"This is interesting huh! I never thought these old bones would have so much strength left"

Severus balled his hands into fists. Anger surged inside him.

The familiar black sword smoothly came out of his sheath, the movement as fluid as water. Inhaling out, he swung the sword, as if it were natural and in one clean stroke, sliced the Shui Song's throat.

His neck was cut open, blood spurting out from countless blood vessels on his previously pale skin. A white bone protrudes out, his Adam's apple was visible now. The sword, having hacked off the throat muscles, halted a bit when it hit the bone, but with one firm blow, the bone snapped. Like a hot knife slicing butter, the black sword, now covered with blood, went through the guy's neck.

All that remained was his beheaded self. His head fell with a clunk on the floor, hair matted with his own blood, making a gruesome scene. A look of shock was etched on to it, till the end, he could not accept his death. His eyes were bloodshot, mouth partly open as if he were about to scream, but he could not.

That was because the entire incident took place so fast that he did not realize it.

"Coward! Killing someone using underhanded methods is just vicious. I disgust the people like you the most"

The entire incident happened so swiftly that everyone just stared. It took them a few minutes to understand what happened.

As soon as senses came to Selena she screamed and went weak on her knees. She sobbed as hard as she could. It was a pathetic sight.

"It's over"

Severus excluded a chill like no one else. He swiftly went ahead near Shui Song corpse and crouched as he shouted," Desella"

Desella understood what he wanted to say, and she threw a glass bottle towards him. He agilely caught it and opened its lid. The glass tube was a simple glass bottle with a syringe on one of the heads. It looked like a big injection. Severus poked it on Shui Song's chest just above his heart. Dark Blood started filling the tube.

The dark red color of the blood gave everyone chills on their body. It was scary. Some women even fainted due to excess pressure in the air while some gagged. The scene wasn't gory, but it was indeed brutal.

"Let's go"

With that Severus left the space followed by Desella.

Inside the Hall

Gui Song felt sad and grief about his brother's death but there was nothing he could do about it.

"Maybe it was the karma"

He wiped his tears and collected himself.

"Since the current lord is no more, I Gui Song, as a direct descendent of the Song family, seizes the lordship."

As he crowned himself next lord many people's faces turned ugly. If it had been any other occasion, they wouldn't have accepted this in any case but now, the things were different. The members of the royal court were aware that the whole castle was surrounded by these invaders so it would not be a wise decision to oppose them. They gritted their teeth in anger but nodded, nevertheless.

Gui Song observed each and everyone's reactions. He made a note in his mind to deal with them later. As for now, the most important issue was to free Noworry from spells aftereffects and the second was to establish his rules. Since Severus was gone there was nothing Gui Song could do about it. With Severus' capability if he had decided to leave then it would be useless to go after him. After all, he was not a reckless child.

"Good. Since no one has any objections with it then we shall proceed. Shino takes hold of administration and assists everyone with afterloads. Clear this scene immediately and send the visitors back"

The teenage boy kneeled on the floor." Yes master"

He ran off to complete his tasks.

"Shires take Selena to her chamber and assist her"

A young girl who was the same age as Selena bowed down.

"Yes master"

She saluted Gui Song. After her salute, she picked up the dazed Selena and assisted her. In an hour everything was returned to normal except the corpse of Shui Song. Not everything can be returned to its previous state. Human life is fragile but still, no one has the right to test its fragility. Since Shui Song tried harming humanity thus he was punished by a human.

"Rest in peace brother. I hope we can be brothers in the next life too."

Suddenly chilly winds started blowing and covered everything in the thick layer of the mist. However, no matter how thick the mist was, there were two people who were continuously treading on the path filled with it.

Desella shuddered as the cold increased. Even her teeth started chattering. "Where are we going, Severus? It's so chilly"

Severus who was in front was holding a lantern in his hands. He was using it to lead the way. "Wait"

"Wait your ass! This is so spooky and cold."

"…"

"I bet it's not as spooky as you"

Severus deadpanned.

It took her some time to understand what Severus meant.

"Hey you~~"

"Who are you calling spooky huh?"

"Is anyone else present here?"

Desella turned her head sideways and after confirming that there was no one she shook her head in denial.

"Is that so?" Severus asked.

Desella got confused but then it struck her.

"Damn you punk! You are calling me spooky"

"I will freeze you here to death. Apologize"

"Hey~~"

"Hey~~Severus! Apologize"

Severus pointed towards an open place inside a forest.

Gasp~

Desella gasped!

In front of her, there was a big stone monolith that was flat in shape and had a pole attached to its surface. To describe it in general it looked like a mini table present in the middle of the forest. The monolith was not a plane but was carved. Tiny designs were carved on it. Around its corner, there were twelve white pearls which looked exactly the same as a thousand yarn pearls.

"This is the tablet of god"

"According to Song family legend, Tablet of God was a scripture that was bestowed upon the Song family by Hades. After being happy with Song's family devotion and sacrifice Hades blessed the theme with this tablet on which there were twelve commands. It was said that if ever anyone misused the thousand yarn pearl which was a blessing then the blessing will turn into a curse. Shui Song probably used some taboo thus he lost his powers as well as the blessed pearl turned into a curse which not only afflicted Gui Song but Noowrry too"

"But why did he do it, Severus?"

"Human emotions are something which is the most unpredictable. You never know what people perceive. Even a single syllable can be interpreted and perceived in various ways. Human nature can do anything, but it all sums up to what we actually want to do in our life. Our success and inability define our place in society. Society controls our brain and manipulates it, bringing chaos in human life. As far as I understand the situation, my guess is that the twelve commands were nothing but the twelve ways to lead a peaceful life. Alas! Someone from the Song family did something atrocious that led the tablet to erase all twelve commands. With time this knowledge was lost, and the warning of ancestors fell into deaf ears and it led to everything."
