154 Ch. 154 The War Had Began
Raymond accompanied Michele to rest in the room and tried to find out what had made his wife suddenly quiet. As he recalled, his wife was fine even after the plane landed at London airport. But somehow, his wife suddenly got sick after meeting his brother. Well, his wife was still fine when she met Richard, but her mood changed when she met Anxia.
“Michele, are you sure you’re all right?” Raymond patted his wife’s back in his arms.
“I will be fine.”
“Will be? Does that mean you’re not okay now?” Raymond heard a heavy sigh from his wife. He lowered his head to look at his wife.
“Michele, honey. Tell me, what is troubling you?”
“Nothing. I’m just exhausted.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m one hundred percent sure.”
“So this has absolutely nothing to do with Qiao Anxia?”
.....
“...” Michele bit her lip when she heard her husband’s question.
Raymond always had a subtle way of getting what he wanted. The man was also brilliant and brought Michele into the man’s wordplay.
“What’s wrong with my brother’s wife? You don’t like her?”
“I…” Michele didn’t know how to answer since her nemesis was her brother-in-law’s wife.
“Michele, I don’t know what your relationship with Anxia was like in the past, and neither do I know why you two pretended to be strangers and decided to avoid each other. But right now, you are my wife, and Anxia is my brother’s wife. We are all a family, and I hope we will remain one in the future.”
Michele knew that very well. She knew Raymond cherished his family, and she knew Richard did too. Michele would counter Anxia and bring up the past if it weren’t for this matter. She would make Richard see the truth that Anxia was a ruthless assassin and a traitor.
But Michele couldn’t do it for the bond between the twin brothers, and she didn’t want to ruin their relationship. Thus, she restrained herself, buried the anger deep in her heart, and tried to move on. But it’s really tough to do.
Thinking of Anxia laughing and cheering triumphantly at the sight of her helplessness made Michele uncomfortable, and she didn’t want to let Anxia cheer to see her depressed.
The hatred Michelle had once felt came back, blinding her eyes so she couldn’t see Anxia wasn’t looking at her with a mocking laugh.
Anxia only looked at Michele warily and had no interest in carrying out her plans. Even though she still hated Michelle and hadn’t completely forgotten her past grudges, Anxia decided to be kind. She also felt it was time she stopped hating Michele, considering that Michele had absolutely nothing to do with the Wong family’s conspiracy against Zhao.
In the evening, they all sat relaxed by the fire while enjoying a light meal.
Michele complied with Raymond’s request and put the past behind her. She would try to accept Anxia into this family and accept Lori to be close to Eugene. After all, Lori was Eugene’s closest cousin. She believed her son would be happier if he had a sibling not too far apart in age.
However… her decision changed entirely due to an incident.
That night, Michele tried to approach Anxia, sitting on the long couch enjoying her tea. She wanted to restart their introduction from the beginning and hoped that their relationship wouldn’t be too awkward after this.
After all, the purpose of their coming here was to console Harmonie, who had recently broken up with her fiancé. If her relationship with Anxia were terrible and their husbands had to advise and comfort them, their purpose for coming here would have been in vain.
Little did they know Harmonie wasn’t too melancholy about her relationship with her fiancé. She became quiet, but as soon as she arrived at the London airport and saw Lori’s face, Harmonie returned to normal again.
All Harmonie needed was a new environment, and her two older brothers had provided that, and that was enough for her.
However, Richard and Raymond thought that the entertainment they were about to plan was not enough to boost their youngest sister’s mood. They planned to hold a picnic, watch the theater and visit a famous acrobat circus in London.
Alas, they wouldn’t be able to do all that if their two wives hadn’t reconciled.
Seeing Michelle, who first approached Anxia to make peace, made Raymond proud and happy. However, just as Michelle was about to call Anxia, ??the woman who was a former assassin suddenly stood up and spun quickly and bumped into Michele accidentally.
The cup Anxia was holding collided with Michele’s arm, causing all of its contents to spill out and stain Michele’s clothes.
“Oh no. I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you were behind me.”
Richard raised an eyebrow at his wife’s statement. There was no way Anxia didn’t know Michele was behind her. The girl had keen instincts and hearing, even more perceptive than him.
‘Xia Xia, what else do you have planned?’
Michele thought Anxia’s tea spill was a pure accident, so she didn’t really mind it. “Don’t worry about it. Accidents could have….” Michele didn’t continue her words when she saw the amusement in the girl’s eyes. Anxia didn’t smile, and her expression looked like she was feeling guilty, but the light in her eyes couldn’t lie. Anxia was laughing at her!
“Yes, we can’t foresee an accident, can we? Thank you. You are really nice,” Anxia said with her fake sweet smile, enraging the other party’s rage.
“Right. Do you mind accompanying me to the locker room?”
“Of course not. Please come with… ugh!” Anxia had already taken a step to leave, but she didn’t expect Michele to kick her on the heel, causing her almost to lose her balance.
Anxia would have fallen over if she didn’t have a good balance and her hands immediately rested on the couch she was sitting on. Anxia turned to Michele furiously without noticing that her fake smile had disappeared.
“Oh, my, are you okay?” snickered Michele.
Anxia bit the inside of her cheek, trying to hold back her emotions because she didn’t want everyone to see her real nature.
A mysterious thing happens. No one knew why everyone could see an electric glow connecting Anxia’s eyes to Michele’s as if both ladies were preparing for war.
