241 Ch. 241 Find A Way To Talk
“I am alright. I think I’m too tired.” Anxia took an extended breath to calm herself down. “Elliot, I’m going to take a little walk outside. We’ll meet in the corridor on my bedroom floor tonight. Is that good?”
Elliot nodded in agreement and let his mother go without glancing at Jamie. Elliot looked at Jamie with a questioning look while Jamie shrugged her shoulders, indicating she knew nothing about Anxia’s sudden strange behavior.
‘I believe my mother has started to accept you.’ Elliot began to talk to the woman through his hand gestures.
Jamie smiled gently at the little boy and moved her hand in response to the boy’s comment.
‘Yes. She has accepted me. I can feel it from her embrace.’
‘Then what happens? Why is she turning pale?’
Jamie shook her head in response and then invited Elliot to sit with her by Elliot’s grandfather’s bed.
‘Have you thought about it?’ Jamie asked little Elliot, who looked at her in confusion.
‘Thinking what?’
.....
‘Would you still not want to go if your mother asked you to go?’
‘No. I still won’t go.’
‘But…’
Elliot held Jamie’s hands, preventing the older woman from continuing as he looked at the woman sullenly. It was clear he didn’t want to bring up this topic again, and Elliot wouldn’t change his mind.
Seeing little Elliot’s stubbornness made Jamie wonder who this kid’s stubbornness had come from. Jamie held up both hands in surrender and tried to persuade him in other ways.
‘If I were to come with you, would you want to leave this place?’
‘Of course.’ Elliot answered without hesitation. ‘But, what about grandpa? You want to leave him?’
‘Looks like your grandpa is hopeless. I’d rather be concerned with your happiness than depend on someone with almost no hope.’
Elliot didn’t budge from his spot and seemed to think for a moment like he was a CEO looking for a way out when his company was on the brink of collapse.
All this time, Elliot did not have a familial love for his grandfather because he did not know what Zhou Yu Hue was like and thought that his grandfather’s nature was not much different from Loraine’s. But he was only willing to visit the hopeless older man because Jamie asked him to do it. By then, it had become a habit, and talking to an unconscious person made him find calm and peace for unknown reasons.
‘I changed my mind.’ Elliot made the hand language, stating his mind, making Jamie look at him in confusion. ‘I’m not leaving without you and grandpa.’
The black galaxy-like eyes were filled with a unanimous decision that Jamie felt sure she would not be able to waver over this boy’s determination.

That night, when Anxia met Elliot in the corridor on the second floor, the two of them walked into Anxia’s room holding hands. They chatted lightly and casually like an average mother-and-son pair. Hence, no one suspected they would discuss something highly confidential once they arrived in Anxia’s room.
That was Anxia’s original plan. She wanted to try to talk to her son with a heart-to-heart, as well as wished to introduce him to Richard. Today was the fifth day as the man had promised, and tonight Richard was coming to get her.
Originally Anxia planned to leave this place without hesitation. Even though she met Elliot here, she still planned to go and bring her son with them.
But now… she couldn’t just take Elliot away from here. Moreover, Anxia was sure Elliot would refuse her advances considering how much he adored Jamie.
She didn’t want to force the boy away, making Elliot hate her. Hence she wanted to wait for Richard’s arrival and discuss their next plans.
It’s just… as soon as Anxia opened her bedroom door, Anxia smelled a strange scent inside her room that made her feel suspicious. Her mother had sent someone into this room to set up a bug. Even her own mother couldn’t trust her; how could Anxia trust Loraine like a daughter would trust her mother?
Anxia looked hesitant to go inside, and she was in a dilemma about whether to go inside.
If Anxia decided to stay sleeping in this place, they wouldn’t be able to talk freely, and also… Richard couldn’t move into her room without hacking into this place’s computer system.
If the IT guys noticed something weird was happening with their system, they would know right away the island had an intruder, and time with Richard to discuss the next strategy would be very little.
What should she do?
“Mama, how about tonight we sleep in my room?”
Anxia widened at her son’s offer and wanted to scream out loud, ‘Ah, my son is such a genius!’ But she held it in and nodded once in agreement with her son’s proposal.
When they entered Elliot’s room and closed the bedroom door, Anxia walked deeper to investigate whether there was any suspicious device.
Elliot smiled, amused to see his mother looking worried as he searched the whole room, then walked over to his mother and invited her to sit on the bed.
“We are safe here, mama,” he said, relaxing Anxia’s muscles. “But just in case, we’d better not talk loudly.” he continued again in a lower voice, making Anxia chuckle in amusement.
“Elliot, you are so smart. I’m afraid you’ll join hands with your sister to trick your poor parents.”
“Is she as smart as me?
Anxia almost laughed out loud at how much confidence her son had. Ah, her son is narcissistic… just like the father.
Lori never boasts or sounds narcissistic, even when she has brilliant ideas that overwhelm them. But Elliot… was not only as brilliant and had a keen perceptive, but he was also super narcissistic.
Anxia lost count of how many times she’d heard Elliot tell her that all the female employees in this place fell in love with him and would give him anything he asked for.
This boy’s face may resemble Anxia’s, but his personality… more like Richard’s.
