Chapter 57

Hal and Zoe finally kissed, and the camera zoomed down from wide-angle to a close-up… which clearly captured Hal pushing his tongue into Zoe’s mouth.

Zoe did a double take, and her fists were clenching harder.

However, she stayed still until Jay barked, “Cut!”

And with that, Zoe immediately pushed Hal away.

The actor certainly knew why Zoe was upset, but he could not help it-she was beautiful, and her lips were irresistibly soft!

He might even have kept going if the director had not yelled cut and if Zoe did not push him Nonetheless, Zoe turned and started to stride off without caring if the take was good.

Hal quickly chased after her. “Zoe.”

Zoe wheeled on him, her expression icy.

away.

“I’m sorry, I just…” Hal apologized, and growled through his teeth, “The director told me to get into

it so that it’s more believable, so that we’d get further into character…”

Still, Zoe smirked and asked, “Jay Parker told you to use your tongue?”

Hal realized right then that Zoe was in a terrible mood.

She was angry just now, but she was spiteful now, with her eyes suddenly turning red!

“Yes, it’s to make it more believable,” Hal quietly said.

“Hmmm…” Zoe smirked again.

That man just said he could cut the kiss for her, and now he had the actor take advantage of her.

She should have been used to his deceit by now.

As she led her assistant back to their trailer to have her makeup removed, Cordy was already waiting for her outside in her car.

She certainly saw the scene just now, as well as what Hal was doing.

She also thought she was imagining things, but Jay seemed to be glowering as he sat beside the

camera.

“Sorry to keep you waiting,” Zoe said as she got in her car, having put on a cap, a face mask, and aviator sunglasses.

“It’s fine. I’m free for the day anyway,” Cordy said politely.

“Let’s go.”

Cordy had Walter drive them to a restaurant.

Zoe only took off her disguise after they entered the VIP room Cordy booked. novelbin

Just as they were about to sit down, the door opened again.

“Quinn,” Zoe beckoned.

Quinn Summer entered and leveled a curious look at Cordy.

“This is Cordy Sachs, my bro-”

Zoe paused for a moment before correcting herself. “She’s looking for an endorsement from me.”

“When did you become so hardworking?” Quinn teased her, naturally not minding that someone else was joining them.

“Do take a seat, Ms. Summer,” Cordy said, offering her a handshake. “I’m Cordy from Starstream Group.”

“I know you,” Quinn flashed her a friendly smile. “You’re Kyle Jessop’s fiancee.”

“Ex-fiancee,” Cordy corrected her.

Quinn appeared taken aback and quickly said, “Sorry.”

“It’s ancient history now,” Cordy said nonchalantly, quickly changing the subject. “Pleased to meet you,”

“Likewise.”

The three women sat down-Cordy had sent Vince home early since they were all ladies here. While a waiter started to bring in their food, Cordy said solemnly, “Ms. York, if you don’t mind, I would like to discuss a potential endorsement deal for Starstream Fashion…”

However, Zoe bluntly said, “I’ve seen your company’s brochures, but the designs of Starstream Fashion were too bland. There’s not much that sets them apart from other companies’ designs.” Since she had not spoken to Zoe before, Cordy did not expect her to be so candid.

From her perspective, people who achieved any success in showbiz would usually be slick. Naturally, she preferred Zoe’s forthrightness.
