Chapter 1238

John really had no idea if he could take another blow, only for his shred of hope to be ultimately crushed.

He restrained himself, gulping endlessly while his large hand clenched into a fist unwittingly in clear restraint.

However, he still turned to face Cordy.

Yes.

Even if it was just a tiny shred of hope, his chest was still filled with it.

He looked at Cordy as her lips curled upward-a suffocating sight of beauty.

He thought he saw tears in Cordy’s eyes too and wondered if he had just imagined it.

After all, his own tears were blurring his own vision even though he was trying his best to blink them back.

“I thought it was over between us,” Cordy said softly, looking at John and his tense reaction. “We’ve gone through so much… doubt, death, and having someone else, that I really thought was one bridge too far.”

John looked at Cordy nervously, yearning so much to tell her that it was not the case.

He could admit that he really did forget about her in his amnesia, but when he saw her again, he could not stop himself from getting close to her…

Even so, he could not say a word just then, worried that he would choke with tears before he could speak.

He merely looked at her longingly, while Cordy’s voice was no longer choking with tears. ‘I don’t know if we would regain those feelings for each other. I don’t know how you or I felt before, or whether I could love you again without anything getting in the way…”

She and John had really gone through too much.

They had known each other for over ten years, and all the things they went through in that time would be more thrilling than what others experienced in a lifetime.

She was a little reluctant to lead that life again and sincerely hoped that life could be mundane again.

She did not know that she was becoming vulnerable with age, fearing parting in death and loss so much that she would rather not have anything at all, which was why she kept her distance from John.

She thought that if she parted ways with him and lost all her feelings for him, her life would really become normal for good.

But was that what she wanted-to have no desire, to live mundanely?

Cordy said, “If you don’t mind everything I’ve said, then yes, I’ll marry you-’

“No, I don’t mind,” John said resolutely before Cordy could finish.

To her, Cordy’s existence in his world was enough, and he would never ask anything of her-as long as she was there.

’Okay.” She smiled. “Then let’s get married.”

They could try again.

Again. novelbin

Ultimately, she could not stop her tears even as she looked at him.

He lowered his head in turn, seemingly doing his best to compose himself.

It was certainly bizarre that he would weep, but he was choking so much now that he had trouble calming down.

“Is the bridal gown still here?” Cordy asked just then.

If this wedding really was prepared for her, it would definitely still be here.

John nodded repeatedly.

’Then I’ll get changed,” Cordy said calmly, a stark contrast against John, who looked more like a little girl with his tear-filled face.

It was certainly a sight to behold, and Zoe had her phone out, sneakily taking multiple photos, having every intent to give them to Cordy as her wedding present
