Cordy smiled slightly and gave Dicky both thumbs-up in encouragement, showing that she didn’t mind, let alone care about keeping up appearances.

As the teachers arranged the groups, they noticed that one of the children didn’t have both parents with her—even though elite private schools like this usually insisted on having both parents attending school activities.

Before things could get awkward, Dicky suddenly asked one of the teachers, "Can my mommy join us?"

"But your mommy's already here..."

"That's my mommy," Dicky pointed at Cordy on the stands.

The teacher simply presumed it to be a child's innocent banter, and didn’t dwell on it as she said, "Of course."

She went off to invite Cordy, who agreed to it since Dicky was so eager, and played mommy for the little girl.

As the relay was about to begin, Cordy and Dicky were close enough to speak to each other although they were in different groups.

"Are you good at running, Mommy?"

"Of course," Cordy said proudly.

Where do you think you got your athletic genes from?"

"So I got it from you, Mommy!"

Dicky exclaimed excitedly.

"That's why I won't let you win, okay? We're rivals, after all."

"I'll do my best!" Dicky said confidently.

The whistle soon blew, and the relay began.

The scene turned lively right then, and Cordy was fully focused, ready to take the baton.

And once it was her turn, she took it quickly and dashed forward, chasing down the next person with absolute advantage.

Dicky had already ran his leg, and was cheering loudly as Cordy started nothing —completely oblivious that Jessica was already running ahead of Cordy.

Jessica wasn’t athletic, and Cordy was quickly catching up to her even though she had been leading.

Just as Cordy was about to dash past her, Jessica suddenly slid up to Cordy—who was running at top speed.

Caught unawares as Jessica suddenly moved to her trail and unable to stop in time, they collided violently, and Jessica fell beneath her.

The crowd was stunned, and Dicky was left horrified.He quickly ran towards Cordy, but saw that his daddy had already beat him.

While the teachers and other parents shambled towards the two women, John had already helped Cordy to her feet, studying her from head to toe and asking worriedly, "Are you hurt?"

Cordy shook her head and pushed him away, since she really wasn’t hurt.

But that might not be the case for Jessica, who moaned in pain.

John finally turned towards Jessica, to find the skin scraped off both her knees.It was a gruesome, bloody sight.

One of the teachers quickly exclaimed, "Quick, Mr.Levine! You have to take her to the infirmary!"

John finally reached out to help Jessica, but her knees buckled just as she got up.

When John tried to help ehr up again, Jessica groaned, "Ow..."

The teacher promptly urged, 'Mr.Levine, you have to carry her."
