Chapter 610

Lucas had a smug look on his face. “Aha! So you’re admitting to it?”

Stumped, Cordy turned pale; however, she quickly decided to change the subject.

Since she couldn’t beat him, she simply gave up, not wanting to suffer him any further.

“Where were you going? Why were you in such a rush?” she demanded.

Lucas, however, was suddenly dumbstruck.

Cordy frowned-wasn’t he supposed to be immaculate in verbal fencing? How did such a simple question stump him?

He eventually sighed and muttered, “I…I needed to pee.”

“Aren’t you heading in the wrong direction?”

“I was still dazed from sleep, okay?” he snapped, his voice a little loud just.

“Why are you getting so upset?” Cordy was angry too-it seemed they just had to argue with every other exchange.

Lucas was stumped again while Cordy pressed him, “Are you kidneys really that good? Go relieve yourself already!”

Lucas flushed; as he left, he snapped in displeasure, “My kidneys are perfectly fine!”

With that, he turned around and ran into the bathroom in the ward, slamming the door loudly shut.

Cordy in turn took deep breaths, and told herself not to get petty with him.

In theory, she was older than him by six years; she had no reason to get upset with a child.

With that, she began to pack-Patrick had been hurrying her multiple times, and she was afraid he would rush to the hospital if she didn’t make it back to the hotel soon.

When Lucas stepped out of the bathroom and saw her packing her things, he asked, “Are you getting discharged already?”

“Yeah. The doctor just told me that I’m fine,” she replied.

Lucas said nothing else. He took his clothes to get changed in the bathroom, before packing up everything he bought as well.

However, he was also throwing most of it into the trash can.

He really was a wastrel.

Naturally, Cordy didn’t care since she had no reason to.

She went to get changed as well. Once they were both done, they were once again wearing matching couple outfits.

Cordy watched as Lucas scowled; this time, she wasn’t about to stand for it. “Why did you buy the same coat if you don’t want to dress up like me?”

“How the f*ck would I know that I’d keep running into you?” Lucas snapped in annoyance.

Cordy pursed her lips, since she thought the same.

They were supposed to encounter each other once by chance, and it should’ve ended there.

Somehow, they ended up stuck with each other.

Still, Cordy said bluntly, “I’m leaving the capital once I leave the hotel.”

In other words, they wouldn’t see each other ever again.

“See you never,” Lucas replied eagerly.

Cordy ignored him.

They headed out of the hospital after they had packed up their belongings, where a car waited outside the entrance.

Lucas went right inside, while Cordy planned to get a cab. Lucas snapped impatiently at her, “Well? Aren’t you coming?” Cordy was surprised, and he added, “It’s the hotel’s car. I asked them to send one.”

He really was quite smart.
