Chapter 773

Zoe racked her brains, but she simply couldn’t remember when she had ever told Yelena that Jay was her father.

Still, that wasn’t important. She needed to leave with Yelena right now if she didn’ want unnecessary trouble.

A waitress arrived with their food, at which Zoe promptly made up her mind. ‘Excuse me, but can you box that up for me?”

“What?” The waitress did a double take, but quickly replied, “Oh, yes, we do, but we do charge an extra fee…”

“Sure,1 Zoe said. She immediately took a tissue off the waitress to write on. “Here, this is our address.”

“Okay.” The waitress left with the plate of food.

“Are we leaving, Mommy?” Yelena asked in surprise.

“Yes, we are.”

“Why? I don’t want-1 want to enjoy my birthday! Bad Mommy!” Yelena immediately refused to leave, since it was a rarity to celebrate her birthday.

“Be a good girl, Yelena. We can celebrate at home too. I’ll buy you a big cake, okay?”

“No, I want to celebrate with Daddy!” Yelena snapped. She quickly got off her chair, looking ready to look for Jay, which left Zoe’s face turning pale from shock.

She promptly scooped her daughter up in her arms, looking utterly upset and tearfully miserable. Yelene screamed, “Bad Mommy!”

“Be a good girl. We’ll celebrate at home, and I’ll buy you any toy you want.”

“I want Daddy!”

“He’s not your daddy!” Zoe snapped sternly.

“Waaaah!!!” Yelena started to bawl, leaving Zoe speechless. Yelena’s ability to cry at a split second would be a waste if she didn’t make it into showbiz.

They were at a luxury restaurant as well, and a little ruckus would cause a huge commotion.

Zoe didn’t indulge Yelena, however-it was a matter of principle.

She promptly turned towards Clara and said, “Pack Yelena’s things. We’re leaving.”

Clara nodded; she promptly packed the bag beside her and picked it up, while Zoe carried Yelena out of the restaurant.

Yelena was still crying on the taxi home, and refused to let Zoe carry her; instead throwing herself into Clara’s arms.

Zoe sighed, feeling a little guilty since they were supposed to celebrate Yelena’s birthday.

She made a stop to get a cake before they reached home. The rest of their dinner arrived by delivery just as they arrived home.

Nonetheless, Yelena was still huffing on the couch and refused to talk to Zoe. But with Clara’s persistent cajoling and coaxing, the little girl eventually gave in to hunger. Her eyes still welled with

tears while she ate, however.

She even asked grumpily, ’Mommy, why did you stop me from meeting Daddy?”

“I told you, he’s not your daddy-“

“You lie!” Yelena complained.

Zoe didn’t want to argue with a three-year old child, and so did her best to divert her attention to other things.

However, after finishing dinner and moving on to the birthday cake, Yelena remembered it again as she made a wish, saying, “I hope Daddy will celebrate my next birthday with me.”

Zoe rolled her eyes-what daddy was this girl talking about?!

After blowing the candles and finishing the cake, Zoe took Yelena for a bubble bath together. It managed to cheer up the little girl considerably.

Before Zoe returned to North City, she would always bathe with Yelena as she wasn’t that busy then.
