Mysterious energy at the bottom of the lake?

Grimm’s interest was piqued when he got the information from the translucent Water-Crystal Turtle. Indeed, he had sensed that something was different when he drew natural energy from the surrounding environment.

However, Grimm did not take it too seriously as it was something normal for a sorcerer. After he heard about it from the translucent turtle, he could not resist finding out what the mysterious energy was.

Blop!

Grimm dove into the water after activating his Sorcerer Barrier.

The water in the lake was filled with air bubbles and it limited his visibility to only a few meters away. Hence, Grimm deployed his Ultrasound Positioning Sorcery to explore the surroundings of the lake, then, a black and white image of the surrounding was formed in Grimm’s mind.

There were no signs of other lifeforms under the water and the temperature was about twenty-one degree celsius, it seemed like the rule of the Fire Element had intensified the pressure towards the water, and it had caused an energy level of high intensity.

The lake’s depth was more than ten meters. Grimm stepped on a giant rock that had been sitting on the bottom of the lake and bent down to analyze the rocks with a touch of his finger. However, no signs of any special elements were found. Grimm took a stroll while he mildly controlled the surrounding force of nature, as if there were palms touching his body gently.

“Master, it is here.”

The translucent turtle transformed into a tiny crystal ball and led Grimm to an aperture in between rocks that were randomly stacked on top of each other. Grimm then felt that there was a hollow weak point.

A weak point could be sensed by Grimm when there was a weak point on the material space within the relative boundary.

Grimm was very excited as he could guess what he might be encountering, could it be the World Aperture between the Shadow World and the other worlds?

‘This seems too good to be true.’

At that moment, Grimm imagined how wealthy he would be if he discovered and leveraged an aperture that could potentially shock the entire Sorcerer World. This could be the game changer for the Stigmata Sorcerers that traveled to this world by using a large amount of their wealth to alter the rule of the Destiny Lever in order to get the Void Fortress into the foreign world. Also, setting up a base in the foreign world could be done within a time frame much shorter than it currently was. Unlike invading the Shadow World, the sorcerers had suffered attacks from foreign lifeforms for months.

Well this...

Grimm became even more excited, he wandered around the rocks trying to think of the best way to move them away.

A few moments later, he put away his magic staff, and slowly pushed some of the smaller rocks out from the lake with his own force combined with the water elemental energy in the surrounding.

Thump!

Grimm threw the rocks down and used his spells to summon the Greedy Flame Giant.

The giant still had wounds around its body and it was resting until it was forced to awaken by Grimm’s mental strength. It stood up slowly as the space was limited to fit its five-meter tall body.

Due to natural instincts, the translucent Water-Crystal Turtle had a sense of fear towards the giant that was formed by the main element of Fire.

Grimm ordered the giant to guard the entrance of the lake, while he turned to the translucent turtle and asked, “Why are there only low-ranked Amonro Guardians if you are the sacred lifeform for the Amonros here?”

“It is because they have gone to the underground space to move the Great Bloodfalls Lavawyvern” The translucent turtle replied.

‘Hmm?’

‘Great Bloodfalls Lavawyvern? This seems to be the last wordings from the Scarecrow of Soul Grafting Sorcery.’

“The Great Bloodfalls Lavawyvern?” Grimm asked.

The translucent turtle replied while it lied down on the back of Grimm’s hand, “I had rarely left this place all these while and not even once have I seen the Great Bloodfalls Lavawyvern myself. However, the Amonro Guardians here described that the Lavawyvern was huge in size, and its breath carries very highly offensive power, it was the partner for the Lava Giants during their time of governance in this world. However, the Lavawyverns have now become livestock to only produce toxic gas for the Amonros in the Enigmatic Castle.

‘The Enigmatic Castle? The Amonro’s Circuit Bomb Launcher?’

‘If that was true, then could the Lavawyvern have been the source of the Demonic Blood Moss that was being made into bombs?’

Grimm was not interested in understanding the ties that the Amonros had with the Lava Giants because knowing those would not bring any benefit to him. He was more interested in the past history of Lava Giants going into the Shura World. It was actually because of the huge amount of wealth that might come along if he was able to locate the aperture; an amount which would be unimaginable to the Demon-Hunter.

Wealth from the Shura World should greatly surpass the Shadow World if they were able to defeat the ancient Lava Giants’ Army.

However, the World Aperture would gradually recover itself if it were not being constantly applied with damaging force, not to mention it was already originally being sealed. Hence, it would also be unrealistic to seek for an aperture by tracing back through historical leads.

“I wonder how the Amonros moved the Lavawyvern? There were sorcerers everywhere in this land that could easily notice such a huge lifeform, not to mention the Amonros had been annihilated by the sorcerers and were nowhere to be found.” Grimm replied with a sneer.

“Eh? No, no, Master you have misunderstood me. The Amonros had been using the Camphoragate to control the Lavawyvern in the Lava Layer; it escaped this place by entering into the underground Lava Layer and then fled while it was still in the stomach of the Lava Dragons.” The translucent turtle explained.

‘The Lava Layer?’

Grimm was amazed by what he was getting from the translucent turtle and replied: “Lifeform living in the Lava Layer? It would be required to have at least ten thousand degrees of resistance toward the fire elemental energy... Unless it is a Fire Spirit lifeform!”

As Grimm obtained information from the translucent turtle, he realized that something valuable could be discovered, he started to move the giant rocks at a faster pace.

If Grimm found nothing from this underground lake, he should probably focus on stopping the Amonros from moving the Lavawyvern away from the deep underground.

Discovering the Lavawyvern would be a turning point for the sorcerers as they might be able to produce treatment medicine against the Demonic Blood Moss within months, it would give them an advantage during wars in the future.

A sorcerer might even be awarded a Rank 3 Honor Badge with this discovery.

When Grimm came to think of this, his heart became even more excited!

About three hourglasses had passed; Grimm moved away a piece of giant rock with a diameter of more than ten meters, and suddenly a spark of Lightning Force appeared.

Gruuu...

Water bubbles started bubbling from within the lake and Grimm was amazed by it as he exclaimed, “This is impossible! Could this be the breaking point of the Lightning Energy?”

There was a giant rock at the bottom of the lake, more than ten meters deep, lightning energy was interwoven calmly like a mirror. The Lightning Mirror was formed at a collapsed space, spanning around a few hundred meters. However, only the part where Grimm had moved the giant rock was interconnected with the material world.

There were dim rays of pale purple and green light shining through the Lightning Mirror, which was a jaw-dropping moment for both Grimm and his translucent turtle.

Grimm was shocked by the presence of the Lightning Energy here at the breaking point, and it still remained at its “Original” state, however; the translucent turtle did not understand what this could possibly mean.

No!

Grimm calmed himself down and observed the surroundings and came to a conclusion that this Lightning Energy was not formed naturally. It might have already been here even before the Water-Crystal Turtle was born, formed by a powerful lifeform.

He then fell into silence.

It was obvious that such a secret would not be accessible by Grimm, and now that he had bumped into it, it might put him into a dangerous situation if he continued to move forward and explore blindly.

Should he stay put and develop himself to become stronger before exploring the secret? Or should he reveal this to the Stigmata Sorcerer to get rewarded in return?

Both sides of the outcome had caused Grimm to sink deep into his thoughts as both would bring different benefits to him.

If he were to explore it by himself, he could be able to discover resources that allowed him to reduce his time as a low-level sorcerer and at the same time reduce his risk of losing the opportunity.

However, no matter which choice Grimm made, he would have to discover the cause and the purpose of having a Lightning Mirror here.

There might be clues for Grimm to reveal the secrets behind the two severed branches.
