There was no mechanical bee on their way home. Since Claudia was with him, Grimm did not fly in the Starfall. It took them a long time to get back.

A month later.

The six Void Fortresses that appeared like blood moons were still hovering slowly at their most energy-efficient speed.

The Void Fortresses had already left the borders of the Dark Destroyer Kingdom. They were in the skies of the vassal states around the Darkglow Kingdom.

On their way, Grimm and Claudia had been stopped by sorcerers who mistook them for Acraepoids. Acraepoids had pleaded for help, they had flown together with the Acraepoids as well. It was common for an infiltration mission.

Rumble...

The Void Fortresses were humming in a deep mechanical voice as they passed through the clouds. They could see each other from the Void Fortresses.

Sometimes, the Void Fortresses would be covered by the clouds. Sometimes, they would be flying in great weather. Their vectors remained the same.

“Achoo! Master, the wind here’s a little bit chilly.”

Little Myna suddenly said while perched on top of Grimm’s shoulder.

“That’s because you fell ill after being contaminated by the abyss. I’ve warned you earlier not to eat the fruit and you just couldn’t help yourself. You feel the pain now, don’t you?”

Grimm glared at Little Myna before taking out a small vial of medicine.

“Drink it, you’ll be fine for two days. One of these days you and Garnigel are going to die from your gluttony.”

Gulp!

Little Myna swallowed the medicine in one gulp and shrieked,” Daddy Myna’s not gonna be as short-lived as that damned black cat!”

Ignoring the Myna, Grimm and Claudia landed on top of the Void Fortress. Grimm turned back and said, “I’m handing over my mission progress report to the Battle Command, you should move out on your own.”

“Heehee, don’t forget about our promise in thirty years, I’ll be waiting for you always.”

They had both returned to their human forms. Claudia spoke to Grimm in a teasing manner. She winked her eye; her lips slightly curved upwards.

“Okay.”

Grimm replied briefly before clutching his Sabbatic Goat Staff and walked slowly to the Battle Command within the Void Fortress. He handed in a report about his unintended participation in the collapse of faith mission as well as the mission report regarding the Abyss Moss in Fort Santalum to the Battle Command.

A Rank-1 Honor Badge Demon-Hunter Sorcerer could assign missions through the Void Fortress to alter the progress of the Demon-Hunting expedition.

But in most situations, a Rank-1 Honor Badge sorcerer’s income came from handing in mission reports.

Of course, Grimm did not forget the Demon-Hunter Sorceress who had set up the Abyss Moss cultivation magical array by substituting the energy crystal with bloodstone. He nominated her for additional mission rewards.

Half a month later.

The howling battle horn echoed alarmingly throughout the Void Fortress. A huge explosion followed. The massive fortress was shaking. A scarlet column of light had been ignited from the Prodigious Shatterer of the fortress.

Instantly, the vassal kingdom Port Granly’s Flame Burrows were reduced to ashes. Some of them collapsed from the aftershocks. It was pure chaos.

The Demon-Hunter Sorcerers had yet to infiltrate within, thus there were no signs of the abyss.

Since the Void Fortress was hovering at a slow pace, the Acraepoids of the vassal kingdom had enough time to escape. Other than a few Acraepoids who had chosen to fight, most of them had already evacuated.

Some of them retreated to the Darkglow Kingdom while a sporadic few were hiding in the deep mountain villages.

“No!”

The city guard wailed painfully after seeing the Flame Burrows collapse in the once prosperous city as if they were being wiped out by a giant hand in the sky.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Ferocious soul slaves were raining down from a high altitude. Some of the larger soul slaves that were tens of meters high terrorized the streets with their shrieks. Some of them were at the middle sections of the towering Flame Burrows. A few were charging at the root section of the Flame Burrows, knocking the burrows off with their sheer size.

The smaller soul slaves crawled into the Flame Burrows. The sounds of clashes, shock, and wails filled the air.

Sometimes, a patch of blood would flow out from the windows of the Flame Burrows.

Acraepoids who attempted to flee through the windows were being pulled by unknown monsters from behind back into the burrows.

The defensive Acraepoids here were completely insufficient to pose any kind of trouble to the huge soul slave legions. To put it simply, they were merely food to the soul slaves.

A while later, the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers flew down leisurely from the skies into the Flame Burrows.

Some of the sorcerers might get lucky and stumble upon unexpected loots. The unlucky ones could only destroy as many Flame Burrows as they could to earn more mission rewards.

With the sorcerers gaining the complete upper hand, the vassal kingdom that once inherited the glorious civilization of the Acraepoids which took a Level-3 Acraepoid, who had all the potentials to become an Infernal God, his whole life to build was obliterated in just mere moments.

Within the Darkglow Temple of the capital city.

Tens of thousands of Acraepoids were prostrated on the ground, singing hymns of the Darkglow Bible with their whole might, hoping for the Darkglow Infernal God to come to their salvation.

The priests’ loose robes were fluttering. Dark, glowing energy was burning profusely like fire.

Their power came solely from the Darkglow Infernal God. As the Acraepoids’ sang their hymns and prostrated collectively, they summoned almost twice the amount of Darkglow power than their usual prayers!

The main priest turned into a twenty-meter tall dark flame. His sight was set on a twenty-meter tall scaled monster that came down from the skies. With his finger, he pointed at the monster and shouted, “Divination, Darkglow Arrow!”

The priest’s incantation conjured up dense Darkglow energy. The energy converged in the form of an arrow which was a few meters in length. In a swift voice, the arrow flashed past and pierced through the scaled monster.

The scaled monster had a surprising vitality.

Though it had been pierced by the Darkglow energy, and the hole left in its wake began to burn fiercely with Darkglow energy, the monster was still howling and charging toward the tens of thousands of Acraepoids that were prostrating at the square.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Although the other priests were unable to conjure up any divination powers, they could increase their battle power in a short amount of time. In the blink of an eye, the harmless-looking priests charged toward the monster.

Suddenly, the main priest opened his eyes. His black flame aura increased to a whole new level. The Darkglow power streamed in continuously to recharge the temple.

The main priest no longer cared for the scaled monster that was at the end of its life. He set his sight upon the powerful sorcerer who was sitting on top of a flying red carpet behind a thirty-over-meter tall ice-elemental monster.

Huff! Enveloped within the fierce Darkglow powers, the main priest gracefully turned over a page of the Darkglow Codex in his hand.

“Power of the Infernal Gods, source of the Darkglow, the unceasing cycle of life and death!”

Powerful divine energy gathered around him as he chanted his divination. His skin was visibly withering; his pair of eyes turned murky. His breath began to weaken, yet the aura of his energy had increased into a terrifying state!

The sorcerer on the red carpet raised his head and looked at the sky.

A large, dark, flaming long palm was closing in gradually with the sorcerer as its target.

The Level-3 great Demon-Hunter Sorcerer shrugged as if it did not bother him.

In mere seconds, the hundred-meter huge hand appeared to be suppressed by an external force. It disintegrated after a brief struggle. It posed no threat to the sorcerer on the red carpet whatsoever.

“Hmph, you sure have the guts to channel the World Lord’s power in front of so many Stigmata Sorcerers, you really don’t know your place.”

The sorcerer on top of the flying red carpet sounded sarcastic.

The main priest of the Darkglow faith looked up into the sky. The blood moons were ever so mysterious. They were filled with an air of animosity and mystery, inducing fear and despair.

The Darkglow powers on the main priest began to weaken. His body withered like an old bark before collapsing on the ground.

“Ahh....”

The soul slaves came pouring down from the skies. Some charged in from the ground in a huge rumble. They were headed toward the square. The faithful believers that had been praying to the Darkglow’s powers screamed in terror. They ended up becoming food for the monsters.

***

The Noble of Port Granly witnessed the destruction of the city that he took more than a thousand years to build. He looked at the vassal kingdom that belonged to him.

He moaned as he regurgitated dark-green blood from his mouth.

The splattered blood was bubbling on the ground like boiling water.

“Heeheeheehee, the curse on your body has spread into your internal organs. Tremble and witness the destruction of your menial world under the sorcerer’s will in your final moments.”

Another vassal kingdom that tried to resist the sorcerer’s will had been completely obliterated.
