The next morning, Natalia was woken up by an annoying burst of her ringing phone.

The refreshing fragrance of a man wafted to the tip of her nose. Natalia’s eyes shot open all of a sudden.

??

Beside her, Alex seemed to have been awake for a long time. His violet eyes were clear and bright. They were both laying in a suggestive position. Although nothing happened last night, Natalia could feel the tingling warmth from the pair of hands resting on her waist. Her face and ears turned red.

The phone was still ringing. Natalia inhaled deeply. She big Alex a demure “good morning” before picking up her phone under Alex’s calm gaze.

Vasili’s name that danced across the screen filled Natalia with disgust. After a brief pause, she unabashedly pressed the answer button in front of Alex.

“My dear Natalia, I’ve been made aware of the controversy that happened yesterday. I’m very sorry that such a slip-up happened yesterday.” Vasili’s voice rang from the loudspeaker.

This obviously hypocritical apology came too late. Based on Natalia’s years of understanding of Vasili’s character, this marked the beginning of his next scheming attempt.

As expected, in the next second, Vasili continued without a pause, “I’ve arranged a press conference for you. I’ll personally fetch you to the office. We’ll come up with a PR strategy.”

Natalia’s lips curled into a contemptuous sneer. Vasili was truly putting in a lot of effort for Irina. The so-called public relations must be to protect Irina and his company!

However, she was no longer the foolish Natalia from the past. If Vasili wanted her to take the blame and shoulder all responsibilities, there would be a price for him to pay!

After washing up, the long table on the hotel terrace was filled with Natalie’s favorite breakfast dishes. Obviously, Alex went out on his way to find out what she liked to eat.

“Mr. Bruch, these look delicious. Thank you, I love them.”

Natalia sat across from Alex and sipped her juice. Her fork was wrapped up with a piece of bacon as she scanned for her favorite garlic sauce among the many sauces on the table.

Alex immediately saw through Natalia’s intentions. “I’m sorry, your favorite garlic sauce isn’t here. I hate garlic, with a vengeance. I can’t accept something like that appearing in my sight. I can’t tolerate the smell. That smell reminds me of werewolves. It makes me nauseous!”

As he spoke, Alex’s brow remained furrowed. It was the first time Natalia heard him express his preferences so clearly, considering how expressionless he usually was.

Natalia understood. “It’s okay, Mr. Bruch. I can see where you’re coming from, but…”

Natalia’s tone changed into a playful one as she teased, “You hate garlic sauce like you hate werewolves. Are you a vampire? They’re both natural enemies to vampires after all!”

Her joking tone stunned Alex.

Yes, he was indeed a vampire—the descendants of the noble Bruch family.

Natalia finished breakfast, packed, and was ready to leave. Downstairs at the hotel, the car Vasili sent her had been waiting for her for quite a while.

Vasili claimed to fetch her personally, but eventually, he merely sent a driver.

“Mr. Bruch, I’ll be leaving.” Natalia stood in the doorway with her purse in her hand, bidding Alex goodbye.

Alex put down his cup of coffee and slowly walked toward Natalia from the lounge area. “You already have my number on your phone. You can call me if you need anything.”

Once again, the broad palm landed on her palm-sized waist. Alex tightened his grip and brought Natalia closer. “We’re already legally married. You should call me ‘Hubby’, shouldn’t you, Mrs. Bruch?”

Natalia felt her face burn as a sheen of pink colored her cheeks.

She reciprocated Alex’s hug involuntarily, wrapping her arms around Alex’s waist and resting her chin on his muscular chest. “Yes, Mr. Alex Bruh, my dear hubby,” she murmured.

With that, Natalia tiptoed and planted a soft kiss on Alex’s cheek.

The kiss surprised Alex. He was lost in thought as he watched Natalia’s shy figure escape the room.

Would such a sincere smile still appear on her face after she learned that he possessed the blood of a Sanguis? Could she really accept that her partner was from a different race—a vampire?
