Chapter 467 I Work Undercover for Kang Ruicheng
Xu Youning slumped over the steering wheel, choking with sobs.
Besides her grandmother, she would never see Auntie Sun in the future.
Finally, she was left alone in the world.
No one would be waiting for her at home, and no one would force her to have breakfast. She would no longer hear those voices she was once familiar with for the rest of her life.
From then on, everything that happened in her life, illnesses, death and the four seasons of the year, would only be experienced by her alone.
She then realized how it felt to be left behind.
Then, Xu Youning began wailing.
Without her grandmother, she felt like a body with no heart. If it weren’t for the obsession to avenge her grandmother, she didn’t even know how she would survive.
However, no one could tell a lonely person like her how to move on in a world without her grandmother.
...
Xu Youning wailed and wailed. After a time, her phone suddenly rang.
She immediately knew who was calling. As her grandmother’s stiff and cold body came to mind, she stopped weeping in an instant.
She told herself to get over her sorrow and to do what she had planned.
She wiped off her tears and looked at her phone. It was Kang Ruicheng calling.
Xu Youning stared at the numbers with coldness in her eyes. Then she pressed “answer” as if nothing had happened, but she didn’t speak.
“I just heard about it. Did your grandma... pass away?” Kang Ruicheng asked with caution. It was rare for him to talk with Xu Youning like that.
He knew very well that Xu Youning’s grandmother meant a lot to her. Killing the old lady was equivalent to stabbing Xu Youning’s heart ten times.
“...Yes. She passed away yesterday.” Xu Youning answered in a hoarse voice.
Kang Ruicheng asked in a sudden low voice, “What happened? Wasn’t she fine a few days ago?”
“Obviously,” Xu Youning laughed in despair and said with a sneering tone, “Mu Sijue has long suspected me. A few days ago, after taking me to the island, he tasked his men to search my house for evidence. They told my grandma what I’ve been doing all these years. She was devastated, so she died on the way to the hospital.”
“...So, was it Mu Sijue who indirectly killed your grandmother?” It sounded that Kang Ruicheng was trying to sound her out instead of making an inquiry.
“Not indirectly. He did that directly!” As Kang Ruicheng had expected, Xu Youning shouted angrily, “Mu Sijue is the murderer. He killed my grandma! He planned for it!”
“...”
“...”
“Youning, come to me now.” Kang Ruicheng seemed to guess what Xu Youning was planning to do. He said in a low voice, “I know that you want to avenge your grandma. But you can’t defeat Mu Sijue yourself. Just come back to me, and let us discuss it in detail. I’ll help you.”
Xu Youning sounded as if she had lost her mind. “This is about Mu Sijue and me!”
“Again, you can’t defeat Mu Sijue yourself, not to mention you are still in his territory!” Kang Ruicheng roared, “Get back now before you can’t!”
“Do you think that I’ll be killed by Mu Sijue?” Xu Youning smiled grimly, as if crazy. “I’m not afraid! Because I’ll take down Mu Sijue with me, to the deepest pit of hell! And then your biggest worry will be gone. You should agree with me!”
With that, Xu Youning hung up and turned her phone off.
As the phone screen darkened, she regained her calm look, as if she wasn’t the crazy hysterical person from moments before.
She knew what Kang Ruicheng and Mu Sijue expected her to do. However, she would never let them get what they wanted.
With that in mind, Xu Youning wiped away her tears, then she stepped on the accelerator and drove straight toward the Number One Clubhouse.
Seeing Mu Sijue’s car in the parking lot, she knew that he was there. She took the elevator to find Mu Sijue in his office.
The door of his office was closed, and two men were guarding outside. She shouted coldly as soon as Xu Youning rushed out of the elevator, “Open the door!”
“Sister Youning. Seventh Brother and Young Miss Shanshan are in the office,” The two men stopped her with their arms outstretched in front of the door and said, “You may have to wait a moment.”
With anger in her eyes, Xu Youning broke their two arms blocking the door with a crack. As the two men lay on the ground wailing, she kicked the door open.
Yang Shanshan had been there for an hour. Although she had tried her best to tease Mu Sijue, he kept looking at his phone and looking toward the door, absentminded. When she asked if he was waiting for someone, Mu Sijue simply replied “no.”
At that moment, when Mu Sijue finally looked straight at her as she had expected, there came cracking noises from outside the door, which shocked her and destroyed the romantic atmosphere she had striven for.
“Who’s that!?” Yang Shanshan turned and looked toward the door only to find Xu Youning there. She stared at her and asked, “Xu Youning, did you do it on purpose?”
Xu Youning didn’t even bother to look at Yang Shanshan, let alone answering her question. She pointed to the door behind her and shouted, “Get out!”
“...How dare you say that to me!?” Yang Shanshan was first stunned and then angered. She stood up in rage and walked toward Xu Youning. “Who do you think you are? You’re not the hostess here. I’ll teach you a lesson today!”
With that, Yang Shanshan lifted up her arm with the intention of slapping Xu Youning—
Xu Youning looked down, covered with a threatening coldness from head to toe.
She raised her hand to ward off Yang Shanshan’s and twisted it hard, then she pressed Yang Shanshan against the wall, after which she cupped her slender neck while releasing her wrist.
Xu Youning moved with the speed of a ghost. Before Yang Shanshan could even say “ouch” because of the pain in her wrist, she lost her voice. She could only stare at Xu Youning with eyes that had been embellished with delicate makeup, while motioning for Mu Sijue to save her.
“Yang Shanshan, do you think that I don’t dare to hurt you because you’re Uncle Yang’s daughter?” Xu Youning seized her hard by the throat while smiling. “Listen, I’ll kill you right now!”
For a moment, Yang Shanshan thought that the Xu Youning before her eyes was not the one she had seen before.
In her mind, Xu Youning had always been like an angry hedgehog whom few people dared to vex.
However, the Xu Youning at that moment seemed like a desperate demon from hell, with a murderous look and horrifying eyes.
If eyes could kill, Yang Shanshan had no doubt that Xu Youning could kill her that way.
Xu Youning stared at Yang Shanshan’s face, thinking of the day when her grandmother was sent to the hospital because of the lady. Her eyes looked more and more malicious, and as she grasped Yang Shanshan’s neck, her knuckles paled.
If she seized any harder, she would break the lady’s neck to let her suffer what her grandmother had suffered two fold!
“Ah...” The sensation of choking nearly overwhelmed Yang Shanshan. She cried hoarsely, “Sijue, help... help me...”
Ever since Xu Youning went into the office, Mu Sijue had been sitting on the sofa watching her.
When he received Ah Guang’s call that morning on the island, he was told that Granny Xu had passed away, and Ah Guang found out the truth soon.
Ah Guang didn’t even get a chance to say how shocked he felt when he found that Xu Youning was a mole. He just asked Mu Sijue on the phone to tell Xu Youning in advance who had killed her grandmother, lest she misunderstood him after she returned.
However, Mu Sijue chose not to tell her.
In his eyes, since Ah Guang had found out the truth easily, Xu Youning could do the same, unless she didn’t trust him at all.
Then, it seemed that Xu Youning had been deceived by a carefully arranged trap. He thought that in her eyes, he was ruthless enough to kill an old lady, which she didn’t need to confirm with him.
He wondered, “Maybe Xu Youning has never trusted me. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be here visiting me with a murderous look.”
“The only one Xu Youning trusts is Kang Ruicheng.”
With that, Mu Sijue’s face became grim. He stood up abruptly and walked over to Xu Youning, then he grabbed her wrist and forced her to release Yang Shanshan.
Xu Youning broke away from Mu Sijue, then she looked into his furious eyes and asked, “Are you worried about her?”
Mu Sijue sneered. “Xu Youning, don’t you know that your cover was already blown? Are you here to seek your doom?”
“No.” Xu Youning shook her head. She gave him a fierce look and said, “Mu Sijue, I’m here to take you down with me to the bottom of hell!”
With that, Xu Youning suddenly took out a knife and made move to stab his heart.
“Ah!” Yang Shanshan covered her mouth with her hands and screamed, “Xu Youning... Xu Youning... someone please come! Ah Guang, come here with your men!”
In contrast, Mu Sijue, who was under attack, was extremely calm, and his gloomy face became horrifying.
He had expected Xu Youning to ask if he had killed her grandmother. In that case, he might have told her the truth.
It seemed that Xu Youning thought he was the murderer.
“If so, there’s no need for me to show any mercy to her,” he thought.
Mu Sijue nimbly eluded the knife in Xu Youning’s hand and caught her wrist. As he twisted it, Xu Youning felt the pain and subconsciously loosened her grip, then with a “bang” sound, the knife fell to the ground.
Almost at the same time, Ah Guang arrived with a group of men.
Except Ah Guang, all the others looked surprised.
Xu Youning had always been unyielding in their eyes, but she had always been obedient to Mu Sijue. It was simply a wonder of the world that she was fighting with him!
Xu Youning made trouble regardless of the consequences because she was waiting for them. Seeing most of them were there, she looked at Mu Sijue and asked calmly, “When did you find out that I worked undercover for Kang Ruicheng?”
Her voice sounded neither too loud nor too low, and her words shocked them all, as if a bomb had exploded in the large office.
“Sister Youning!” Ah Guang rushed over and shouted, “Don’t talk nonsense!”
“I said that I’m the mole who works for Kang Ruicheng.” Xu Youning gave Ah Guang a cold look and asked, “Didn’t you know?”
The group of men who had rushed over with Ah Guang all heard Xu Youning’s words clearly, causing an uproar...
