Chapter 38 the top ten motives 2

*********** At a middle level world******

---

*Sigh...*

A heavy sigh echoed through the skies as a giant creature soared above the forest, the sound drowning out the other noises for miles. The creature was shaped like a bulky lizard with wings—one of the overlords of the sky and this world. It was a dragon.

Its blazing red scales shimmered like molten magma, and its eyes glowed with a fierce red hue. The dragon's tail was long and thick, covered in rugged scales. Its large wings, folded behind its back, radiated power.

Fireblade glanced down at the world he had been reborn into and sighed once more. Tens of thousands of miles above the ground, the scenery was breathtaking. Once a high-ranking officer in the US Army on Earth, Fireblade had a beautiful wife and a young daughter, just two years old when everything changed.

"I miss you guys..." The words caught in his throat, but the pain he felt inside could not be spoken.

Spotting a large mountain that almost reached the heights of Earth's tallest peaks, Fireblade descended towards it. The mountain, known as **Heart Mountain**, was not the largest in this world—some mountains here were bigger some reaching the height of the earth atmosphere—but it held a special significance.

An urban legend surrounded the mountain: those who reached the top would be able to see their loved ones for just a minute, as though their memories had come to life. Though they could not speak, for Fireblade, that was enough. Many had tried to scale this mountain, but only a few succeeded due to its sheer height.

It was said the phenomenon could only occur once in a lifetime, and the process involved powers beyond comprehension.

"Well, I'm here..." Fireblade muttered to the air as his massive dragon body touched the peak, his gigantic wings folding behind him. The sun reflected off his scales, casting a fiery glow.

*Shhh...kolom, kolom...*

Fireblade heard the sound of flowing water. Suddenly, a thick mist enveloped him, blinding even his powerful sight. Not even a Rank 2 being like him could see through it.

His suspicions were confirmed—this was a law, a higher power at work. But which law? Fireblade didn't know.

Slowly, a space opened up around him, and he watched as his body shrank, morphing into his human form. He now stood at the front door of his old home, wearing his soldier's uniform.

*Knock, knock, knock.*

Unable to control his body, Fireblade watched as his hand moved to knock on the door. It opened to reveal a beautiful woman holding a crying little girl.

The flowers in Fireblade's hand dropped to the ground as he stepped forward. The woman smiled through her tears, wrapping her arms around him in a long embrace. Even the baby grew quiet, staring at her mother and the man before her.

"Babe... I missed you..." Fireblade whispered, a soft smile on his face.

"I missed you more," the woman replied, standing on her tiptoes to kiss him.

"Waa..." The baby reached out with her tiny hands, trying to grab their faces, causing the couple to chuckle.

With smiles on their faces, Fireblade and his wife entered the house. The vision ended as quickly as it had begun, and Fireblade found himself back on the mountaintop, his dragon form intact. The memory had been fleeting, but it felt so real, so vivid.

Tears rolled down Fireblade's face as he shifted back into his human form. He stood naked at the mountain's edge, staring down at the clouds below.

"My life is gone..." he murmured, gazing at the endless expanse. "Maybe I should've died with them."

Taking a deep breath, he contemplated the past, the war, his dragon form, and how he was now worshipped. Yet all that power meant nothing compared to the life he had lost.

"Perhaps... going back to the past is impossible. To do so would defy the heavens themselves." His voice cracked as tears slowly stopped. His heartbeat quickened as memories flooded his mind.

"But what wouldn't a man do for his happiness?" Fireblade thought as he stepped off the edge of the mountain and started plummeting downwards. The clouds engulfed him as he fell faster and faster.

"Going against heaven... It's been done before, at least according to those anime fans I used to hear about," Fireblade mused as the wind rushed past him. He was now 10,000 kilometers above the ground, but the earth below was still obscured by clouds.

He remembered his comrades-in-arms speaking of characters who defied the odds. "They aren't the first, and they won't be the last... and now, I have a chance. I'm a mythical creature—a dragon."

Fireblade's expression hardened as a spark of hope flickered within him. "For my happiness, I'll go against heaven itself and destroy anyone in my way."

*Roar!*

A mighty roar reverberated through the skies as Fireblade, in his dragon form once more, broke free from the clouds. His 120-meter-long body soared through the air, dwarfed by the colossal mountain beside him.

Ascending rapidly, Fireblade spread his wings, his resolve solidifying. "I will become so powerful that I'll defy the heavens... and I will change time."

His eyes locked onto a cloud formation that resembled two figures—a woman holding a baby. "I will see you soon," he whispered, determination burning within him.

### **Elsewhere in the Human City**

In a quiet inn, three beautiful figures sat around a small table. Each of these women had the beauty to shake entire kingdoms, and now they sat together, sharing drinks.

Before them was a round table with small cups filled with what was known as celestial wine. These three were none other than the Falcon Princess (Juliet), Doria, and Feng Yue, all in their human forms.

Laughter filled the room, a stark contrast to the deadly rivalry they once shared over who was the most beautiful. After surviving a war that tested life and death, they had grown beyond such pettiness and realized how much they had in common.

Suddenly, the laughter faded, and a strange silence settled over them.

"I've been meaning to ask... what are your plans now?" Doria's serious tone caught the other two off guard, and they shifted in their seats.

Juliet broke the silence. "That's a great question, Doria. I don't know about you two, but for me... I want to be stronger. I never want to go through what I did as a child."

"Oh, what happened?" both Feng Yue and Doria asked with concern.

"It's like this... I..." Juliet began, her voice trembling as she shared her story.

Juliet had been sold as a child to a rich family. Her biological parents were poor and couldn't take care of her, especially since they were young adults and unmarried. She had been unwanted, and by the time she was four, they sold her to a wealthy family.

Juliet resented her parents for it but held on to the hope that her new life would be better. Sadly, it only got worse. Though she was adopted by the rich family, she wasn't treated as a daughter — she was treated like a slave.

At first, things were fine. She was treated well enough, but when the family had their first son, everything changed. The mother focused on her business, leaving Juliet to care for the newborn.

Imagine a child having to take care of another child. But Juliet was a quick learner. She did everything she could to fulfill her role as a nanny. However, things took a dark turn when the father came into her room on her sixth birthday and forced himself on her.

It became a regular occurrence, continuing until she turned eighteen. By then, the son was sixteen...

Funny how he took on the traits of his father and slept with her too. To make matters worse, the mother also gave birth to twins—both female—two years after the firstborn. They were brats and made her life miserable.

At 25, she had had enough of everything and ran away. She was all alone, begging for food. So many times, she had to offer her body as a bargain for food—not even good money. Her life was filled with pain. She even became sick and almost died. That was when the Limit Breaker came, and she was finally free.

With no money for drugs, she had to do what she knew best—be "that" again. As a woman, the number of abortions she had to endure in that house, where both the son and father liked it raw, reached up to fifteen. At one point, she lost count. Her body eventually refused to cooperate, but they just bought lubricant and continued. The number of men she had to sleep with to survive was staggering.

Juliet was traumatized, and the sickness stemmed from STDs. Yet, she wanted to escape her life so desperately that she stole from a little kid and struggled to run away. Alas, she was caught and almost beaten, but the kid took pity on her and gave her some money before leaving. She used it to buy a capsule and entered it with her weak body, and now...

"I'm so sorry to hear that... so sorry," the two girls tried to comfort her in any way they could. Their hearts broke; Juliet's life was filled with misery. As girls, they felt her pain more acutely, their hearts churning as they listened. After minutes of comforting her, Juliet spoke up.

"So that's my goal now: to be strong and not suffer the same fate again. What about you guys? I want to hear yours," Juliet said, smiling slightly.

The two girls looked at each other, and Feng Yue spoke first.

"Compared to you, mine is nothing. As the only daughter of my rich father, I was looked down upon and tried everything to make him proud, but in the end, he told me he wanted a son, not 'this,' and that I could never be anything good. My motive is to change the whole multiverse's view on females—that we are something too," Feng Yue said, sighing.

"Compared to yours, mine is simple. I just want to live a good life, you know? I am an orphan, and my big brother took care of me until I grew up. I want to get strong enough to protect myself. That's it," Doria smiled, a bit embarrassed. Compared to the others, hers didn't seem as strong.

"It's fine, sis," they heard a voice and turned. There was Leo, sitting at the window with a smile, the curtain fluttering, framing his breathtakingly handsome face.

"I've heard everything you all said. No matter what we've gone through—especially Juliet—our reason for wanting to be stronger remains the same. We will always have each other's backs, right?" Leo stood up, walked to them, and sat cross-legged.

The three girls looked at each other and blushed but replied swiftly, "Yes."

Leo smiled, his handsome face glowing. "Mine is similar to my sister's: to be strong enough to protect us both. We promise to stay together and protect each other. After all, we are Hans." He smiled and placed his hand in the middle of the table.

The three girls looked at each other and placed their hands one after another on Leo's.

"We are one family, not differentiated by the races we belong to," Leo said, and the rest echoed.

No matter the past the top ten had gone through—their trauma, their pain, their joy—they all used it as a reason for their growth. They were all hungry for power. These are the top ten motives for their great thirst for power.
