Chapter 50 A deal
Chapter 50 A deal
Void appeared hundreds of light years away, not in the Abyss but somewhere far more intriguing. As a Rank 2 demon, he had unlocked something new. He could briefly move through the second layer of space, though it came at a cost—injuries from overexertion. Additionally, he could sense the fire element more clearly, though as a demon, it held little value. All he cared about was souls.

**{Element: Fire 10%, Gravity 1%, Wind 0.1%}**
Void smiled, pleased with his stats. He was undoubtedly strong.
He scanned his surroundings. A giant kingdom spread out before him, its inhabitants towering over the land—though none were taller than Void. Even the kingdom's strongest, the king of giants, only reached 50 meters in height, dwarfed by Void's colossal form.
Unfortunately, Void had appeared right in the heart of their kingdom, near the king's abode. Giants quickly surrounded him, their gazes sharp.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" asked a giant, roughly 20 meters tall. Despite his smaller size, his aura was powerful, marking him as an early Rank 2 being.
"Just passing by," Void responded with a grin, unconcerned. Fear was a mistake, especially when surrounded.
"We'll see. Our king wishes to meet you," said another giant, 23 meters tall, and at a quasi-low level Rank 2.
"Lead the way," Void said, picking up Linkir, who was holding Anya as they descended.
They were led to a grand hall, where 40-meter-tall giants stood guard. At the end of the room sat a colossal figure on a gigantic throne, exuding an oppressive, wild aura. It was clear this was the king, a peak Rank 2 being.
"My lord," the 23-meter giant said, kneeling along with the others. Only the giant guards and Void remained standing.
"What are you, and what business do you have here?" the giant king asked, his tone laced with curiosity.
"I am a demon, just passing by," Void replied, unfazed. Linkir stood beside him, her expression cold, ready to strike if ordered. She had become ruthless, completely devoted to her master's will.
"How ironic," the giant king mused. "Demons aren't usually as large as you."
"Different bloodlines," Void responded. "I hail from the Abyss."
"Ah, so the demons here possess weaker bloodlines despite being stronger than you?" the king asked with a thinly veiled trap.
Void smirked, aware of the trap. "Maybe," he replied cryptically, drawing a chuckle from the king.
"You're clever," the king noted. "Rise."
The kneeling giants stood, and the king's interest deepened. "Tell me about this 'Abyss.'"
Void grinned. "The Abyss is a realm—a vast, independent space much larger than your world."
"Do you even know how large this world is?" the king asked.
"As large as a universe," Void responded confidently.
"Then your home must be bigger, meaning more powerful beings exist there?" the king pressed, his voice excited.
"Yes, indeed," Void replied, wondering where this conversation was headed.
"I want to visit your world," the king declared, shocking the gathered giants into silence. They dared not speak without their king's approval.
"It can be arranged, but not in your current state," Void said nonchalantly.
"What do you mean?" the king asked, his aura growing more intense.
"You'll need to be converted into a primordial demon, but you'll likely die in the process because you're stronger than I am," Void explained.
"And how would I become a primordial demon?" the king inquired, intrigued.
Void grinned, already devising a way to gather more souls. "I need 10,000 Rank 2 souls from you."
The king frowned. Such a request would plunge the entire world into war. Each Rank 2 being was crucial, and gathering so many would require immense sacrifice.
Void knew this demand was almost impossible, but just maybe…
"I agree. I will gather them within a year. For now, I invite you to stay in the giant kingdom—for your protection," the king offered, sensing an opportunity.
"Let's make it official," Void said, surprising the king.
"How?" the king asked, puzzled.
"Just watch," Void replied, snapping his fingers. A 10-meter parcel appeared before him. Void clenched his fist, causing the air to crack as a small drop of blood floated above, absorbed into the parcel.
The parcel floated toward the giant king. The gathered giants craned their necks but saw nothing of significance.
The king studied the contract with a smile, then looked up at Void, who grinned in return. The king spread his hands, and his skin split as a drop of blood splattered onto the parcel, which absorbed it instantly.
"Done," Void declared with a wide grin.
"The deal is sealed," the giant king announced. "Escort our guest to his quarters."
"Yes, my lord," the 23-meter giant replied, leading the way as Void followed, with Linkir perched on his palm.
---
Void and Linkir were led to a massive room by the giant, who departed after explaining the castle's layout and their accommodations.
Now seated on a giant bed, Void gazed at Linkir, who held Anya cradled in her palm.
"Put her down," Void commanded, his voice devoid of emotion.
Linkir complied, setting Anya gently onto the ground. Despite her lack of clothing, Anya's dragon scales provided her with modest coverage.
"Wake her," Void ordered. Without hesitation, Linkir slapped Anya across the face.
The slap jolted Anya awake, her gaze darting from Linkir's cold eyes to the enormous, ominous figure towering above. Fear and confusion filled her eyes as recognition settled in—it was the same demon who had captured her.
"Where's my brother? What have you done to him?" she screamed, her voice trembling before hardening, bitterness lacing her words. Her Aeron form numbed her emotions, but the anger was still there.
"Silence." Void's voice echoed like a thunderclap, cold and dominating as he placed Linkir on the bed beside him. His dark gaze returned to Anya, who was now glaring up at him with defiance, mixed with desperation.
"You belong to me now. Address me as 'Master.'" Void's tone was calm, almost indifferent, as if her fate was already sealed.
"I'll never bow to you! I'll kill you!" Anya's voice erupted with fury, her Aeron power flaring as she charged toward Void, but before she could reach him, a casual flick of his finger sent her crashing into the wall.
**Boom.**
The impact reverberated through the room. The stone walls absorbed most of the shock, though a crack appeared where Anya had struck.
**Cough.**
Blood dribbled from Anya's lips as Void approached, a faint, cruel smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
"Another fragile toy," Void murmured, placing his foot on her, pressing down just enough to feel her bones strain beneath his weight.
Her scream was muffled under his heel.
Void continued his experiments, showing no concern for Linkir, who watched silently. Though she had endured Void's torture herself, watching him treat Anya this way stirred something within her—a flicker of discomfort.
After what seemed like hours, Void finally ceased, lifting both Linkir and a barely conscious Anya onto his shoulders. Their Aeron forms were now small and obedient, mere toys in comparison to his power. Though Anya had survived, something had awakened within her—a potential Void found... interesting.
---
**System Notification:**
{Host: Anya. Race: Void Dragon. Rank: 1 (Early Level)}
{Strength: Early. Speed: Early. Stamina: Early.}
{Blessing: Child of the Void.}
Void smiled. Anya had not only survived but had awakened the bloodline of the Void Dragon. A rare and powerful race—her value had just increased significantly.
Leaving the two behind, Void flew out of the castle, his wings carrying him far beyond the city limits to a barren wasteland.
The moment he landed, he felt numerous presences watching him from a distance—curious, cautious, but unwilling to approach. He paid them no mind.
Void summoned his sword from his system space.
The blade, 85 meters in length, gleamed white with intricate black patterns snaking along its edge. Nine crimson holes adorned its surface, each one pulsing with dormant power. Void's grip tightened around the hilt, his strength surging as the sword hummed to life.
He'd been restrained for far too long, but now, having advanced to Rank 2, he was ready to unleash his full power.
Void grinned.
"You will shake the very cosmos," he muttered softly to the sword, which responded with a low, ominous vibration.
Unlocking the first of the sword's nine holes, the temperature around him skyrocketed. The ground beneath his feet liquefied into magma, spreading out in a circle around him, scorching the earth for miles.
He unlocked the second hole, releasing more of the sword's true power.
**Shizzzz.**
The flames surged outward, burning everything in their path. This was no ordinary fire; it was a flame that devoured all, leaving nothing but ash and ruin in its wake.
The blaze extended far beyond the wasteland, reaching the borders of the giant kingdom. But just as it threatened to engulf the city, a sudden gust of wind—a force of nature—swept in, pulling the flames back, containing their destruction.
Void closed the sword's power, satisfied with the display. His strength had far exceeded his expectations. He smirked, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "Darkseid... next time we meet, I will utterly destroy you."
---
**Meanwhile, at the Giant King's Castle**
The atmosphere was tense. Giants of every rank—from the lowliest soldiers to the most respected generals—gathered before the king, awaiting his orders.
The king's voice boomed across the hall. "We are going to war against all other races," he declared, sending shockwaves through the assembly. Bound by ancient laws, the giants could do nothing but kneel in obedience, despite their rising unease.
"By the lord's will, we obey!" they shouted in unison, marching out to prepare for battle.
The king's decree spread rapidly. The treaties that had held the world's mightiest clans in check were now shattered, and the giants, war-hungry and eager for bloodshed, would be the first to break them.
Alliances were swiftly formed, and every major clan mobilized for war. The world plunged into chaos, all set in motion by a single contract—a deal with a primordial demon.
---
**Back with Linkir and Anya**
Linkir sat in silence, her form reverting back to its original wolfish shape. Anya, too, returned to her human appearance, her emotions rushing back now that Void had left.
"I'm... I'm sorry," Linkir whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I hate you... I hate you so much," Anya muttered, her voice thick with emotion. She had grown, now resembling a teenager rather than the child she once was.
"I had no choice," Linkir sobbed, averting her eyes.
"My brother always said... there's always a choice. Why didn't you fight him?" Anya's voice trembled, but Linkir couldn't bring herself to answer.
"You saw what he did to you," Linkir finally said, her voice barely a whisper.
Anya fell silent. The memory of Void's torment still fresh, her body shuddered with fear. She didn't want to experience that agony again.
"What do we do now?" Anya asked, her voice filled with despair.
"We obey him... and call him master," Linkir replied quietly, her words causing Anya to choke back tears.
