Chapter 1619 Unveiling The Plans II
The Prince and the Old man looked around in fear, but they couldn't see who was speaking.
The Old man wanted to call for support, but then the voice came again.
"Calm down, there's no point in you shouting, it's not going to change anything. Do you think I'm someone who's afraid of those guys in here?"
The Old man was frightened, he knew the conversation he was having with the prince wasn't ideal, and it wasn't anything anyone else should hear. His entire family didn't know what he was up to, well, a few are aware, but not everyone. He has had this thought for a long time now, and after the Emperor took most of the top experts in the world into the God's tomb, he decided it was the perfect time to execute his plan.
The death of the Sixth and Third Prince made things easier for them since the number of people they needed to get out of the way reduced, but he didn't think anyone would find out even with how careful he was.
"Who are you?" He asked, although afraid, he wanted to know who this mysterious person was.
"I'm sent here by his brother. To think he wants to kill all his brothers, who would've thought sibling rivalry will get to this extent?"
The Old man looked around, "Since you're sent here by one of the Princes, then it means they already know what we plan to do."
"Naturally, you didn't hide properly, and I feel like you picked the wrong candidate."
The prince looked at the Old man this time with a cold expression, "What's the meaning of this?"
The Old man was about to respond when Grey, Klaus, Alice and Reynolds stepped out of the void. Void and the bunny leader were left to ensure no one could sense what was happening in there.
"You see, we don't really care about the life and death of the other Princes, if you had asked, we would've actually worked with you to deal with the others. Of course, this piece of trash here wouldn't have been involved." Klaus was the one who spoke this time, he took a seat and picked up one of the fruits there, taking a big bite.
Grey and the others took a seat beside him, looking at the three guards that wanted to move but were too afraid to even take a step. The Old man could barely think of something to do, much less these guys who weren't even as strong as the prince sitting there.
"So why are you guys here, exposing yourself?" The Old man asked.
"To make this fun." Klaus shrugged, "If we had spoken to you before or after he came, it wouldn't be any fun now, would it?"
The prince looked at the four and his eyes widened, "You're the four recruited by Seventh."
"Oh, you recognize us, I'm surprised." Grey didn't expect the prince to recognize them.
He has seen the prince once, but they haven't had any form of interaction. He didn't expect the prince to remember them even after just seeing them once.
"The Seventh Prince's men? Aren't they all First stage Sovereigns?" The Old man asked with a baffled look.
The prince nodded.
"First stage Sovereigns dare to act so impudently before me?" The Old man roared, and just as he was about to stand up, he felt a chill run down his spine, as Reynolds stood by his side, he didn't even sense when Reynolds left his seat to stand beside him.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, you'll only make them mad." Reynolds placed his hand on the Old man's shoulder and forced him to take a seat.
The Old man felt like his world was about to crumble. He realized the difference between them was night and day. If only one of them could do this, he didn't dare to imagine what the others were capable of doing. Against these people, he didn't stand a chance.
"Why are you people here?" He asked, still fearful.
"Two Princes are dead, we want to know who's behind it." Grey replied.
"If you've been here from the start of the conversation, then you should know it has nothing to do with us." The Old man calmed down.
This was one of the most important families in the entire Gnome world, there's no way they would kill him when he didn't have anything to do with the deaths of the Princes.
"How are we sure you're not only saying that to save your skin in case anyone was listening?" Klaus raised a brow.
"I said so much without even batting an eye, of course I didn't know if anyone was listening. If I did this, I would've said it when he asked me." The Old man felt like beating Klaus up, just like most people who've had encounters with him.
"You don't get it, I don't say I don't believe you, I'm just wondering if you're also lying to him." Klaus looked in the direction of the prince.
This time, his words caused a reaction with the prince.
The prince looked at the Old man and asked, "Did you have a hand in their deaths?"
"I already told you I don't. If I did I would've told you to ensure you have some trust and faith in me that what I want to do can be achieved." The Old man said with an annoyed expression.
"Can you say you completely believe him?" Klaus asked, before the Prince could answer, he added, "Remember this is someone who wants to kill all your brothers, what's hard with him lying to you?"
The Prince took a glance at the Old man who was getting enraged with Klaus's words.
"I don't know your names, but Necromancers are all beneath us, if you think just because you're following the Seventh Prince you can speak to me however you like, I have some terrible news for you." The Old man was incensed with what was happening.
"Don't worry, we'll deal with you. Also, we didn't come here under the Seventh Prince's order, rather, the First and Second Prince sent us here. They guessed one of you guys might be the one pulling the strings." Grey chuckled, taking one of the fruits there as well.
The Old man and the Prince exchanged glances.
The Old man took a deep breath and said, "You're not acting, which means you want something. Tell me your price and you can pretend you didn't hear anything."
"Haha, I like smart people." Klaus laughed and then said, "First off, empty your treasury, then we'll know you're serious."
The Old man wanted to stand up, but he felt the weight of a mountain on his shoulder, and then he saw Reynolds looking at him menacingly.
"What's the meaning of that?" His voice was cold, even though he was backed against the wall, he wasn't the type to back down.
Klaus cleared his throat and said, "You should empty your treasury. Or do you have a hearing deficiency?"
The Old man's face contorted as he replied, "That's my family's life savings, if you believe I'll do that, then you're crazy."
"Wiping out what's left now, and losing your treasury, pick one." Grey asked with a calm voice.
"My ancestors have assisted the Emperor for years, he will never agree to it." The Old man said coldly.
"The Emperor isn't here now, is he?" Klaus asked, "The First and Second Princes make the decisions in the absence of the Emperor, and we've been told to execute everyone if you're indeed plotting against them. It doesn't matter if you did it or not, as long as you're plotting against them, you and your entire family should be wiped out."
"If you're willing to take the chances of waiting for the Emperor's return, you can only see him in the afterlife, after he's dead, and you and I know that will take thousands of years."
The Old man felt his entire body grow cold, it was as if a cold water was dumped on his body, he couldn't believe what was happening right now.
He looked at the Prince and asked, "They're all First stage Sovereigns?"
The Prince nodded.
Grey and Klaus laughed and said, "You believe those two can hold us back?"
"They'll be killed as well, we don't have any plans of leaving any of them alive." Klaus laughed.
The Old man didn't believe there is anyone below the Mid stages who could fight with the duo in the mansion, although he isn't as strong as Grey and his friends, he didn't believe there's a possibility of First stage Sovereigns being able to defeat Fifth stage Sovereigns.
Unfortunately for the Old man, Grey and Klaus were no ordinary First stage Sovereigns, well, they weren't even First stage Sovereigns, they had both broken through to the Second stage within the last few weeks. Also, they weren't ordinary Second stage Sovereigns.
