300 The Lost Little Idiot
In this life, Chen Wei’er’s greatest wish was to give birth to a healthy baby. She would raise her child well.
However, when did she start to change? She began to ignore herself, He Xun, and even more so, the pregnancy preparation that she had mentioned several times. In truth, she didn’t take it seriously and formally.
Other mothers would start taking folic acid early in preparation for pregnancy. On the other hand, Chen Wei’er always talked about having a baby, but she never bought any supplements.
Chen Wei’er suddenly didn’t dare to look into He Xun’s eyes. He had been ignored by her so many times.
Did He Xun also have some complaints? Was Chen Wei’er really a good wife? Chen Wei’er fell into a state of self-doubt.
He Xun pulled his flustered and helpless wife into his arms. “Since you want a baby, let’s prepare well, alright? Don’t be distracted by other things.”
His voice was so gentle, and his embrace was so warm. Chen Wei’er felt emotional.
“Alright,” Chen Wei’er answered and leaned into He Xun’s arms. She nodded gently.
“You’ll have to write me a guarantee then. Otherwise, I won’t know if you changed your mind again.” He Xun pinched Chen his wife’s small face.
Chen Wei’er also hugged He Xun tightly and secretly swore in her heart that she would be more considerate and treat him better!
The next day, Chen Wei’er genuinely took a break. She went hiking with He Xun.
After asking the villagers, they chose the safest mountain with the least slope.
The mountain was not far behind the village.
Chen Wei’er had a camera hanging around her neck, and she chatted with He Xun as they walked.
“Hubby, look at that bird over there. It looks so strange!”
“Wow, this frog is so big.”
“Is that a dragonfly? The blue head is so pretty!”
He Xun listened to her childlike behavior and nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, I’ve never seen such a bird before.”
“It’s such a big frog. Stay away from it. Don’t let it jump on you.”
Chen Wei’er continued to point at everything she saw by the roadside and said, “Are those cucumbers hanging down from the shelf?”
She jogged over, tilted her head, and looked at the unknown specimen on the shelf for a long time. She then called He Xun, “Hubby, come here quickly! There’s a mutated cucumber here!”
He Xun smiled and walked to his wife’s side. He watched her point at a strip-like vegetable.
“This one must have mutated. I have never seen a cucumber like this before!”
“Of course, you’ve never seen such a cucumber before,” He Xun said helplessly.
Chen Wei’er tilted her head and waited for He Xun to finish his sentence. Then, she heard him say, “Because this thing is a silk gourd.”
“I just realized why I don’t like to eat silk gourds. It’s because they don’t look good!” Chen Wei’er quickly took two huge strides back. She looked away and pointed at another strip that looked different.
“Look, that silk gourd has also mutated. It’s different from these silk gourds!”
He Xun sighed and once again explained to Chen Wei’er.
“That’s a bitter gourd.”
Chen Wei’er bit her lower lip and felt severely unconvinced.
“You grew up in the city. How do you know about this?”
“When I was young, my eldest brother taught me to distinguish them.” He Xun rubbed his wife’s small head.
“You’ve never been to a village, but you’ve at least been to a supermarket, right? You will see all kinds of variety in the vegetable section.”
Chen Wei’er decided to shut up. To be honest, even when she had to cook for herself in her previous life, she couldn’t tell the difference.
Every time she arrived at the market, she would only look at the price and buy whatever was cheap.
However, she did not believe that He Xun knew everything. She had to beat him once! The two of them continued on their way.
A thick cloud floated over and blocked the bright sun.
Chen Wei’er patted He Xun’s shoulder in excitement.
“Hubby, that cloud is so beautiful!” As she spoke, she raised her camera and aimed it at the cloud—capturing the scene. She happily admired the photos she had taken, but when she turned around, she suddenly realized that she didn’t know where to go.
Chen Wei’er and He Xun were now standing at an intersection. There was farmland all around them, and they looked the same in her eyes.
When the villagers told them the location of the mountain, they said to keep going north. But where was north now?
He Xun looked at his wife and knew that she had lost her way. This little fool could only distinguish directions through the sun.
“How should we proceed now?” Chen Wei’er began to ask for help.
“I don’t know either…” He Xun, who was standing at the side, answered.
