Age of Heroes (Age of Heroes Chronicles)

Chapter 506

Chapter 506: The thing people do for love iv

Rhyssa believes in this world only she could understand Arial struggles and motivation. There are no equals to both of them.

They against all odds, unify the fragmented influence of power in the continent, carving an Empire that will last for Ages.

They both have bathed in blood; they both have piled a mountain of bones and spill a river of blood.

People said Arial is a tyrant and a devil King. But one needs to look at all sides. To the Zettelian, yes, Arial could very well be described as a Devil King.

But to the people of the Empire? He was their Wise Emperor, praised through all the four corners of the Empire.

Rhyssa wanted to ask people, which Wise Emperor did not shed blood?

How can you become a wise emperor without shedding a few blood? This era is the Era of unification.

Every Era has its trend. Unify and then break. Break and then unify. Now after they separated, the kingdoms is once again, united.

Rhyssa don't think it is easy for Arial to be the Emperor of such a large Empire, not without discarding some values that he have for the prosperity of his people.

The weight of the crown is not for anyone to bear. It is easy to put the crown on your head. It is not so easy to take it off.

To shoulder the lives of million in your shoulders sometimes you have to do what is necessary even though what is necessary doesn't mean it is right.

And Rhyssa understand this.

Rhyssa understand the very heart a person who sits on the throne need to have. A heart of a lion.

When the time came, a ruler might even have to throw away their humanity for their people.

And at the same time a ruler even needs to offer their heads for the people when the times call for it.josei

The purpose of a ruler is not only to rule. But to protect. The ideology of the Analects of the Three Teachings very much influence Rhyssa rule.

The people are the roots of a nation, and the roots should be strong so as to create a peaceful nation.

Benevolence is the foundation of a great country.

This is her belief and every policy of her administration has been in this spirit.

Then as she loom round, the woman finished packing the bread and handed the knapsack to her.

Rhyssa then ask after she realizes something.

'Where is Miss Ana?'

'Oh.' And the woman face turns a little sad.

'She was visiting her sister grave.' Rhyssa hearing this also shows a somber expression.

'Again?' She asked.

The woman nodded.

Rhyssa sighed and then she said.

'Tell her not to mourn the dead too much. If she has any difficulties in making business in the Cloud District tell her that I could offer help. She helps me when I first came here. I will also help her' Rhyssa said.

'I will tell Miss that Veiled Lady. She would be happy to hear it.'

Exchanging this conversation and saying farewell, Rhyssa went out and went to the city gate when she sees Rate was bringing someone into the group.

Rhyssa who was in horseback ride her horse to the group and look at the young man that Rate brought.

The man has blond hair, his locks shining like gold and his eyes were clear brown. He was thin but his face was handsome.

With clean and clear face, his face looks like the face of a young noble lord.

But Rhyssa snorted.

'Why did you bring a kid into our midst, Rate?' She asked and she grins.

Rate laughed hard.

'He does look like a kid, right?' As the others in the group also laughs. But then Rate face turns hard and then he said.

'But this kid is a genius in swordsmanship. Other than you, Big Sister, I doubt anyone would last ten second fighting with him.'

Hearing this, the group was shocked. How could they believe this kid that looks like he would be topple from even a passing wind can do that?

'Brother Rate, let me verify it' a strongman in the group said as he rushed towards the young man.

The harmless young man eyes suddenly glinted and his body emitted killing intent and Rhyssa creased her eyebrows.

This boy is not simple.

The boy held out his hand and a sheathed sword of one person in the group suddenly fly towards his hand.

The strongman was about to collide with him but he sidestepped like a flowing wind and dodge the rush.

Then the strongman assaulted the young man with a barrage of attack, but the young man dodging it like he was a bird feather and the strongman punch was the wind.

It looks like the punch is about to hit him but not one hit could even be said to be close to him.

Rhyssa with her perception found out that this young boy is too abnormal.

Then Rhyssa looking at the reflex of the young man and realizing what he was about to do, she spins her hand and the sands on the ground formed to become a spherical hard orb the size of a bead and floated into Rhyssa fingers.

The moment the boy was about to attack, Rhyssa flick the orb and it hit the sword of the young man and the trajectory of the sword change.

The young man because of the force of the strike could not hold on towards the swords and the sword falls to the ground.

'Enough.' Rhyssa declares and the strongman stops.

'You're qualified to enter this group.' The young man just smiles. But for some reason, Rhyssa could not feel at ease looking at the young man smiles.

That move…if it was successful…it would be too vicious. Rhyssa looked at the young man with trepidation.

'What is your name?' Rhyssa asked. The man looks at the sky like he was pondering and then said.

'My name is Louis.'

Rhyssa was perplexed.

'That doesn't seem to be a Ragranian name. They always have the character for their tribe in front of their name. Like Rate. Ratuer. Rakur and so on and so forth.'

'I'm not from Ragran.' The man calmly said.

'Oh. Where did you come from?'

'The Eastern Seas.' He replies. Rhyssa nodded. But she did not stop asking since she felt something was also wrong with the assumption that he came from the Eastern Sea.

'But the Eastern Seas does it have that kind of name?'

'No' the man answered.

'My family came from the Human Continent. Louise is one of the names of my ancestors and my father give the name to me so I would inherit his will.'

Hearing this Rhyssa was surprised.

'How did you come here then?'

'Adventuring and people said there is a land of opportunity here in the New World.' Rhyssa nodded understanding.

People who can sail the Seas of the New World are all extraordinary people and all have their own objectives.

'You heard of my rules?' Rhyssa ask. The man nodded

'And you will obey it?' Rhyssa sternly asked.

'Of course.'

Rhyssa ask everything she wanted to ask and then after a brief moment of silence Rhyssa nodded.

'Then you will join us. Don't make trouble and don't endanger the team and you won't have any problem.'

Finished saying this, Rhyssa turned her head as she rides forward and Rate pat the young man back.

'You're accepted, kid. Don't forget what you promise me.'

The young man nodded as the group began following their Big Sister. Louise looks at the back of the Veiled Lady and smiles.

Louise actually once saw the true face hiding beneath that veil once.

It was when he was a child when his family still lives in the Human Continent. He never forgets a face.

And her face is hard to forget.

She was his first love. And looking at her back wistfully, he takes a knapsack and whistling happily following the mercenary group.
