Chapter 575: Trials

No Skyfiend from the Ten Tribes ancestral lands could ever pass the Wall. 

It is not because they could not fly higher than twenty feet. 

It is simply because there is an invisible barrier that causes the Dark Things that could fly unable to fly around the vicinity of the Wall

Those that crawl in the ground would feel pressured. Those who dig the ground could not dig the soil of the Wall.

There is no force in heaven and Earth and this is the meaning of that word. 

No creature that flies in the sky, no creatures that dig the Earth, or crawl the ground, none, should be able to bring down this wall.

Aegir shook his head and once again look at the gate and recognized something. 

Some people probably did not notice it. 

It is not because it is not obvious but most people would only look at the gate and the Wall for a brief moment before they quickly enter itjosei

Most people wanted to leave the Shadowlands as fast as possible and enter the Three Kingdoms quickly. 

Even though some people know there is a war inside the area, it is better than to be eaten by some denizens of Darkness.

And they could still fight for glory and there is always a chance that you could live a prosperous life inside the Three Kingdoms.

Since everyone is in a hurry, how could they have time to wonder the beauty of the Wall and the Gate. 

They might exclaim seeing it and shocked at it, looking from afar, but when one in front of it and pressured by the people behind them, they would go even faster.

And the other reason was that none of them know the lore as extensively as Aegir. Since he was young he possesses a great memory. 

There is rarely anything that he had forgotten.

As such, he remembers the word of the Elders about the gate. 

He come closer to it 

But he was far enough from the drove of caravans and other people that is streaming inside the gate

Dust rises up because of how fast some would ride their horses to enter the gate. There is no chaos. It is not because they are well behaved and well mannered

If this is normal days, those warriors riding their horses would cut the line and would ride their horses arrogantly toward the gate, cutting through the caravans. 

This would then lead to conflict as the pride of tribe people are not to be provoked. There are cases of war between tribes simply because of simple reason. 

But because nobody wanted to sacrilege the Wall.

The Divine is watching. 

This is the belief of everyone that is seeing this Wall. 

All of their life, there is no Wall here. But suddenly, in a day, a tall wall and a crystal gate appears. 

How could they not be shocked?

Some people riding toward the gate look at Aegir and the few dozen people behind him and they were curious. 

But they did not stop since everyone have their own problems. Some brought their tribespeople. 

Others are by themselves, some are tribespeople who were exiled or people who have created their own village outside of the ancestral lands, scattered all over the New World.

They were very quick in leaving their village once Darkspawn started appearing in the Old Road and in villages.

Just because they live outside of the ancestral land did not mean they forgot the stories of the ancients.

The Darkness appearing and shrouding large swathe of lands, the news of a Crystal gate and a large wall that appeared out of nowhere easily convince these people to leave their village and quickly seek a chance of survival.

No one mess with each other and no one seems to care about Aegir group. 

Aegir also did not care about those people as he seems more interested in the gate 

There is lines and character carved on the gate like some kind of words or alphabet that no mortal could see and read or understood.

Ancient language of the Gods probably. Or might be the scrawling of the deities and the divine and misinterpreted by mortals as languages or letters and alphabets.

Aegir was not the only one among his tribe that look upon the gate with awe mixed with fear.

Some of the young women look toward Aegir with a feeling of awe and the old among them look at Aegir beaming with pride. 

The wise men among them noted that last night miracle probably had something to do with Aegir

Old lore, old stories that is forgotten is now being remembered. Old prophecies attributed to the ravings of lunatics and antiquated men, today, it is respected.

Most of these people had never travel this far from their ancestral land. 

The farthest they probably have gone to is probably to the edges of the Green Plains or maybe around the Green Lake

None of them travel so far toward the Godstree. None of the ten tribes that lives in the ancestral land and far from the Godstree had ever reach these part

They have never been a need to

Most of them would have to pass through the Three Tribes and even if they pass the Three Great tribes, they would still have no power against the forces of the Darkspawn

When the Wall appeared, the Three Great tribes, those who set outpost on the Shadowlands went back into the Three Kingdoms.

They left their ancestral land without hesitation. Most of them went to their respective kingdoms.

They did not feel attachment to their ancestral lands unlike the other ten tribes.

The reason is because most of the Three Great tribe heirloom and their wealth, their riches, their properties, their families and legacies were all inside the Wall

Before the Wall appeared, there was great dark shadow that envelop the area around the ancestral lands of the Three Great tribes. 

It envelops the area of land around the Godstree. That is how it was for thousands of years.

And the Three Great tribes, most known for their prowess and their wide ranging use of abilities, with most of them blessed more than others in the amount of people that were gifted among their tribes, take the charge to control and kill the dark thing that spawn out from the moat of darkness around the tree.

It is also a curse given to them hence none of the other Ten Kingdoms care that much about the Three Great tribes hunter that was stationed near the source of that Darkness.

They created kingdoms inside that darkness and they developed it for millennium, living in the darkness. 

This kingdom is hidden from the Ten Tribes. Why them? Why do these three tribes did not live like the other? Why do they take the charge?

The three tribes would say that their ancestors were virtuous and could not see the suffering of the Thirteen Tribes

The truth however is more…. darker than that

The Three Great Tribes was blessed more than others not because the Creator loves them more. 

It is so that they could redeem themselves. This is what the knowledge in the book had told Aegir

No matter how many times the Three Great tribes told the people their stories, their virtuous deed that is trying to wash away the real story, the Elders of the tribes would tell the story of the Three Great tribes and their betrayal to Nasrana

And so, nobody venerated the Three Great tribes. The Ten tribes do fear them. But they do not respect them.

How could one respect a traitor and a betrayer?

The Three great tribes were also the one that most wanted to kill the prophet. They killed the Prophet beloved and they were cursed for it.

All the thirteen tribes that participated in that evil affair was cursed by the Creator, and this land, this New World was their trial place.

But none is punished more severely than the Three Great tribe.

For millenniums, they have guarded the Darkness and for millenniums, sons lost their fathers, fathers lose their son and so on and so forth. 

The story of the Three Great tribes is s a story of repentance and sacrifice. 

To repent they have to sacrifice. 

There is a reason why the powerful three great tribes did not just sweep the land and conquer all the ten tribes even though they were the powerful ones.

Doing so would only bring destruction to the Three great tribe. Luck and fortune of their tribe had been severely damaged by the sins of the past.

They waited for the appointed time. The time where the Darkness would move away from the area where they make their kingdom.

Like the waves of the sea ebb and flows, so does the Darkness. There is a trial. And in this trial, the Three Great Tribes could finally release itself from the curse.

And this trial is not only the trial of the Three Great tribes
