Noah smiled and ruffled her head hair.

"Why do you think so?"

"Mommy is different when she talks to you,"

Mackenzie said while tilting her head as she doesn't know how she should phrase it.

Noah didn’t want his daughter to get involved in this matter at a young age.He carried her back to her room.

When he returned to Madeline's room, the sobbing had faded and he even heard laughter after some moments.I should not underestimate this Xander guy.

Noah knocked on the door with a heavy heart.It took some time for Madeline to answer, "Come in"

He saw Madeline sitting on the sofa beside the window when he entered.Her eyes were sull red but she had wiped off the tears on her face.He glanced at the phone on the table and asked, "Lord Trenton had lost his power, are you happy?"

Madeline nodded.Her emotions were not as strong as before when she cried in her arms.

"I thought you would be so happy that you'll cry."

Noah looked at her knowingly and she just smiled back faintly.

"I was indeed tormented by him to the point of going crazy.When I thought that he could no longer give me some troubles when my life was getting smoother in the future, I felt relieved.So, I’m naturally happy."

Her eyes were getting teary again but she suppressed the tears.

Noah’s facial expression was getting gloomy and his fingers tapped anxiously on his lap.

"You're looking for me for something?" Madeline asked.

After learning that Xander was fine and sharing the joy of defeating Trenton, she felt relieved and had visions for the future.She did not pay much attention to Noah.She was just simply asking.

Noah could feel her inattentiveness.He immediately went to her bed and removed his shirt.

Madeline tugged his arms, "What are you doing?"

"Going to sleep."

He shook off her hands and said.He was just wearing a shirt and it was the one that she had removed earlier.

She felt guilty looking at the wounds and scars on his muscular body.

Madeline dumbly watched and forgot to stop him.

Noah had expected her to come over and stop him.

However, she was just standing there looking at his wounds.His annoyance was slightly reduced.He curled his index finger and knocked on her head.

Madeline came back to her senses and glared at him.

She quickly stopped him from unbuckling his belt by putting her hands on his hands, "Go back to your room to sleep!"

However, she felt weird looking at him wearing shorts in his pants.

Noah knew what she was thinking and reached out to remove the shorts.

"Stop moving around and sleep."

Madeline stopped him and climbed into the bed.

Noah smiled and lay down beside her.He reached out and hugged her tightly.

"Have a little talk with me," he said softly.

She pushed herself away from him, "Let’s talk then but don’t simply touch me."

"Alright." Noah agreed.
