Alexander The Great Mage

Chapter 76 - God Crystal Weapon

Chapter 76 - God Crystal Weapon

"What's happening with the sword?" Princess Anastasia demanded.

"It's… Recognizing me as its owner." Alexander said.

Princess Anastasia frowned slightly, but didn't say anything about it. She was still distracted and affected by the news that her gentle grandpa was once a ruthless murderer of his own siblings as well.

Very soon, the sword stopped glowing. Alexander looked at it with great interest.

He gave it a few swings, and found that it had perfect balance, as though it was custom made for him. Additionally, he felt a really strong connection with it, as though it was part of him.

"I feel like it's a part of me." Alexander muttered. "Maybe…"

Whoosh!

The sword disappeared.

"Hey! Where did…" Princess Anastasia began.

Whoosh!

The sword appeared once more in Alexander's hand.

"Woww… That's awesome!" Princess Anastasia breathed out in wonder.

With surprising speed and agility, Alexander struck the cave wall with his sword.

Slash!

The sword cut through the solid rock like a hot knife cutting through butter. Only a thin slice where the blade had passed through remained as a mark of Alexander's previous strike. The sword was so sharp that it immediately cut the rock upon impact, leaving no impact marks at all.

Excellent! Alexander thought.

He pointed the sword into the cave interior and released his fire energy.

VROOOSHHHHH!!!!!!!

A massive conflagration roared out of the sword and stormed into the cave with great savagery.

"HEY!" Princess Anastasia squealed in shock. She was so surprised that she fell backwards.

A red barrier glowed into existence and a strong hand stretched out to catch her as Dubaza reacted with startling speed to protect Princess Anastasia before she could hit the ground.

Alexander hastily cut off his power from the sword.

"Ooops." He said as he looked apologetically at Princess Anastasia and Dubaza. "This sword magnifies my power by many, many times. I think it was close to ten times."

Princess Anastasia glared at Alexander and stomped her little feet angrily. "Don't do that again!" She commanded with an imperial tone.

She sniffed in annoyed indignance and raised both arms towards Dubaza, her gallant savior.

Alexander's eyes gleamed triumphantly as he threw Dubaza a wide smile.

Strangely, Dubaza smiled back at him as he lifted Princess Anastasia and placed her gently on his shoulders.

Alexander raised his eyebrows slightly. That old fart has a soft spot for little girls. How sweet. He thought.

He turned his attention back to the Crystal Sword.

"So it amplifies magical power as well." He mumbled to himself in awe.

"Yes. The Crystal Sword is a Universe Treasure. It's made out of pure God Crystals." Flamewing said in a slightly troubled voice.

"God Crystals?"

"God Crystals are simply a type of crystal that could somehow react with the power of the Gods and amplify it. Remember the Testing Pillar? It has a tiny crystal at its core. That's why it could detect the Power of Perses within you."

"Ah, I see. That's pretty interesting."

"Wait, it gets better. Among many other powers, it grants non-arcane wielders the power of levitation and vastly enhanced physical strength. However, it is to the arcane wielders it bestows its greatest power. The God Crystal multiplies any God's power the way dragons spit fire. A single spark can be ignited into a blaze of inferno. In the hands of an archmage, the Crystal Sword will take the Power of Magius injected into it and multiply many times. Matchless in the power it grants the wielder and peerless in its beauty, it was the most coveted weapon in the whole universe." Flamewing said. She sounded strangely worried.

"That's really alot, for a simple sword." Alexander commented lightly.

Whoosh. He made it disappear once more.

"But it's perfect for me." Alexander grinned at Flamewing in his mind. "I think our mission just got much, much easier."

"Yes, but…"

"But what?" Alexander asked.

"You've been way too lucky in too short a time. I feel rather... strange, like, as though something really bad is about to happen." Flamewing said hesitantly.

"Really? I don't feel anything. Maybe you're too paranoid, and unused to living with such a lucky cat." Alexander said dismissively. But he spread his magical senses out and scanned the area around them anyway, just in case.

"Ah damn. You're right." He said softly out loud. "We're surrounded."

Dubaza narrowed his eyes and immediately turned around to face the cave entrance.

"There's no use. They are not coming from the entrance. They are all in the sky in some sort of a flying construct. It's aimed at us and gathering energy." Alexander said grimly.

"Symphonians." Flamewing said immediately. "They found us. How?"

"It doesn't matter. It's time to see just how strong I am compared to the powers of the Universe Empire."

He whipped out his sword and created a white spherical barrier around them.

"They'll be using anti-magic weapons." Flamewing said softly. "Make sure you create the strongest barrier you can."

Alexander nodded. He raised his hand and tripled the barrier's strength. He then created three more barriers beneath the first one.

"Can't you just teleport us away?" Princess Anastasia said nervously. Her luminous eyes were filled with tears as she fought down her fears and tried her best to be brave. She was still a little girl after all, and a lot had happened in the past few hours.

"They've locked down the space around us. I can't manipulate the space energy at all." Alexander said seriously. "But do not worry. I am not some weakling they could push around. It'll take time to figure out how to break the space lock, but I will do it. In the meantime, my shield will protect us."

"Okay." Princess Anastasia said in a small voice.

"Do not worry, Princess. It'll take more than a mere Universe Empire battleship to deal with King Aloxandros. We'll be fine." Dubaza said gruffly.

"Brace yourselves." Alexander warned. "They are beginning."

Not a second after Alexander had said that, HUMMMMM!!!

A weird humming sound rang out before the cave ceiling suddenly disappeared, evaporated like water under a hot sun. A blinding light took its place and slammed into Alexander's shield.

BAMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

The impact was so powerful that Alexander's first layer white barrier almost crumpled completely.

Alexander's eyes widened in surprise as he injected more power into the shield to reinforce it.

HUMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

BAM!!!!!!!!!!!

HUMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

BAM!!!!!!!!!!!

HUMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

BAM!!!!!!!!!!!

Three more beams of light smashed viciously onto Alexander's barrier. But this time, Alexander was fully prepared.

He pointed his Crystal Sword at the barriers and immediately casted a barrier infused with every single shred of power he had.

A stream of golden light left his sword and coalesced into a golden sphere around them.

CRACK! CRACKKKK!!!

As his white barriers collapsed, the four beams of blinding light smashed into Alexander's new golden barrier.

But strangely, there was no sound as the beams impacted his golden barrier.

The beams simply kept coming and disappeared upon contact with Alexander's golden barrier.

"What did you do?" Flamewing asked in surprise. "Why is it golden?"

"I'm not really sure what I did. I just sent every shred of power I had into the Crystal Sword. It somehow took everything and combined them into that golden energy…"

"OH MY GOD. THAT'S IT!!" Flamewing shouted. "How could I forget… That's the catalyst required for Scion Lords to show their power! God Crystal weapons!!"

Alexander looked at the disappearing beams of light with relief and smiled in amusement. Scion Lord's power? Those sorry bastards out there who dared to surround him are-

"Oh those sorry Symphonians are f****d. F****d, I say!" Flamewing cackled with glee and excitement as she somehow completed Alexander's line of thought.

"Hey! Watch your language!" Alexander reprimanded her sternly.

"Stop bothering about me and quickly cast your spells through the Crystal Sword! But this time, don't just use your arcane power. Send in the Power of Perses into the sword as well! Battle intent, did you call it? Release it! Release ALL of it!! Oh my god, the entire universe had never seen the combination of the Power of Perses and the Power of Magius! You're the first Scion Lord with that power combination… This is incredible… History making… Glorious..." Flamewing began to mutter and mumble to herself.

Alexander chuckled. He could understand her excitement. He too was feeling the surge of adrenalin in his body.

He quickly injected his space energy into the sword and released his battle intent at the same time. To his surprise, the sword took both types of energy and combined them into a golden stream. He tried to move the golden stream. It worked!

The combination of his battle intent and space energy through the Crystal Sword had allowed him to freely manipulate space energy once more. And not just any random space energy, it was fully charged space energy that could turn volatile at will and explode!

Alexander took a deep breath as he tried to calm the rising surge of excitement that coursed through his veins.
