All Stat Slayer

Chapter 46

Chapter 46: (2): Season 1: Preparation

People were amazed by the achievements of the Platinum Slayer, and at the same time, they cheered and celebrated this decision.

The Platinum Slayer made a decision regarding the Redstone ownership. A representative from the Korean Union made the announcement. They stated that once the price of Redstone is determined, they will receive the amount from the government and contribute it back to society. The exact details were not disclosed, but some of it will be used to support the Slayers, while some will be allocated to orphanages and schools.

News articles filled the social and economic sections.

Hyun-seok’s decision brought a new wind to the Slayer community. Although it wasn’t exactly what Hyun-seok had intended, the compensation system shifted from 1/N to a distribution based on contribution. While there were debates due to the difficulty in accurately assessing the contribution, it was a significant change.

Min-seo looked at Hyun-seok with a slightly admiring expression.

“Wow… Just with one decision, everything changed like this and that.”

“Yeah.”

“Did you anticipate all of this?”josei

“Well… to some extent.”

Even before discussing it with Sung-hyung, Hyun-seok had some expectations.

“Hyun-seok, this change is definitely a good thing for you, right?”

“I suppose so.”

“But what about those ten people who refuse to transfer their shares to you? What bad luck!”

“Well, each person has their own circumstances.”

Hyun-seok smirked. After all, the money wasn’t that significant, and he didn’t want to be overly concerned about each and every aspect. There was a hint of disdain in not being able to enjoy his fair share, but every time he encountered such disdain, he would smirk.

It might be worth at least 15 billion won, but to Hyun-seok, it wasn’t a huge sum. With that amount, he gained the admiration and trust of the public. Moreover, even top-level Slayers were amazed by his decision and supported him. If he could achieve such a level of trust with the 15 billion won he never expected to have, then it was a good deal.

While Min-seo went around searching for unfavorable internet comments about Hyun-seok and leaving comments like ‘Ignorant people who know nothing! I’ll hate you!’—secretly, of course—Hyun-seok didn’t pay much attention to it. And it wasn’t like he was wasting money in vain or using it for his own benefit. It would support the Slayers and provide assistance to growing students in schools. He wasn’t a saint, nor an infinitely kind person, but still, hearing praises from here and there meant something.

‘This feeling… It’s not too bad.’

At least he didn’t feel bad. It made one wonder if this was what people meant by honor, being honored.

At that moment, the doorbell rang. Min-seo rushed to check, and it turned out to be Kim Yeon-su. Hyun-seok also stood up to greet him.

“Ah… Mr. Kim Yeon-su.”

The person who played a significant role in making this incident prominent, and whom Hyun-seok found somewhat cute(?), was Kim Yeon-su, the team leader of the previous party. Kim Yeon-su apologized straight away. He said they should have fixed things much earlier and apologized for not doing so, but his attitude was surprisingly confident.

After a short conversation, Hyun-seok asked,

“Was it your wife who asked you to come…?”

When he asked, Kim Yeon-su’s face turned pale. It was a terrified expression.

“I almost got divorced because of this.”

He said, and his expression quickly changed. He looked like a big, grumpy guy, but it seemed he couldn’t bear the burden. Even Min-seo’s expression turned sour. Kim Yeon-su even choked up, as if on the verge of tears. He didn’t actually shed any tears, but he came close to it.

“I wasted 200 million won…”

“Ah… Well, that’s another story.”

Kim Yeon-su whispered, “It was terrifying…” in a low voice, as if talking to himself.

It seemed that Kim Yeon-su was undoubtedly an outstanding defensive Slayer, but he appeared to be caught by his wife. From his wife’s perspective, he looked like someone who carelessly threw away at least 200 million won on the street. It was only natural that she would be upset about wasting that minimum amount that would come in on its own.

Feeling sorry for Kim Yeon-su’s hunched figure, Hyun-seok tried to comfort him. It wasn’t just about arguing with his wife. The guild leader, to whom Yeon-su had belonged, was also one of the 80 members of the task force and one of the people who didn’t want to transfer their Redstone shares. Transferring the Redstone shares meant admitting that he hadn’t done anything as a Slayer. Yeon-su had been criticized for it, and they had a serious fight. Currently, he had even left the guild.

Hyun-seok said,

“I understand… since she has to take care of the household expenses…”

Yeon-su lowered his head and replied,

“Yes… Thank you for understanding. Actually, Mr. Hyun-seok is like a benefactor to me…”

But at that moment, a call came from Myeong-hoon. He sought permission and then answered the call, saying that he had discovered a new dungeon. It seemed that after being trapped in a dungeon and escaping, he went out to find another dungeon. He truly was an eccentric person.

Hyun-seok said,

“Well… although it’s not exactly a reward… would you like to join me for this slaying?”

It wasn’t like Cyclops. In the case of dungeons that could be found at Myeong-hoon’s exploration level, it wasn’t a significant threat to Hyun-seok. If it were a situation where they had to protect other Slayers, like with Cyclops, soloing would be better, but in the case of dungeons suitable for normal mode, having several people was better.

Furthermore, Kim Yeon-su was an excellent defensive Slayer. He could take more responsibility for the peace and safety of Pyeong-hwa and Min-seo.

“Me? Really?”

Kim Yeon-su’s head shot up. Then he suddenly put on a serious expression.

“I will definitely transfer all the rewards. The contribution is not important. Experiencing how the Platinum Slayer slays and clearing dungeons once is enough.”

‘This way, I won’t be ripped off by my wife.’

It seemed like he meant it sincerely. He tightly sealed his lips, not showing any interest in the rewards. In this matter, he was adamant about receiving a differentiated distribution based on contribution. He believed that anything obtained without contribution was wrong, and he didn’t want to live a life that harmed others. Seeing his passionate stance, Hyun-seok chuckled and said, “Oh, Yeon-su… if you keep doing that, you’ll upset my little sister and she won’t bring you along.”

Yeon-su was shocked. Min-seo’s aggressive attitude must have pressured him.

‘But… we’re the same age as Hyun-seok…’

He wanted to say that, but he couldn’t. He was shocked by what he said.

A few days passed. As planned, defensive Slayer Kim Yeon-su joined Hyun-seok’s guild and became a temporary companion.

And again, after 12 days, news articles about the Inha Guild flooded the headlines.
