Chapter 715 T.D.O.N.B: A Favour
Chapter 715 T.D.O.N.B: A Favour
After the meeting with the entity, my life kinda stagnated. Tihana and Celestine kept going hunting, separately, but they both tried to do it as often as they possibly could. I would stay home and make sure that food was always ready for them, but I would also go hunting. In my case, every day. At least for a few hours, to look for a ghost to put properly to the grave.
It brought me a few crystals in a span of a month. Very peaceful month. A month full of waiting for more news from The Great One about the creature which was lurking somewhere in space, and observing us.
It became so boring, that I started to think of chasing after danger, yet again, and returning to the city where I found the strongest ghost so far. The seeds of a journey to the outskirts of Aaraam'soturi also sprouted in my head. I just couldn't help myself but wanted to experience how it would look to face all those powerful ghosts at once.
I know, kinda ridiculous, but I bet you would be also curious if you were in my shoes.
My plans got changed though. It happened kinda unexpectedly, as I was laying in Celestine's bed after we had some late evening fun.
I was looking at the ceiling, and enjoying the clarity of mind, just like her company. She was more tired after what happened, but after a quick shower, she returned to lay next to me, so we could talk, as we always used to do.
- Can I ask you for a favor? - she started.
I got so surprised because that was the first ever time she did that after I helped her to become a hunter.
- Is your back getting worse? - I asked.
- No. It's not that... It's kinda embarrassing, but - she sighed. - I tried to do something myself, but I... I didn't...
She sighed again, then rolled in the bed on her side to look at me. I noticed that she was a little bit embarrassed.
- It didn't work... I tried to solve the situation, but It didn't work - she sighed. - I think I'm running out of options.
- With what? - I asked, now a bit confused.
- There is this guy... - she started.
- He is dead - I butted in.
My reaction made her straight up laugh.
- No. Not like that - she said after a moment, as she calmed down. - Just tell him that we are seeing each other. I did it a few times already and even told him I'm not interested, but he keeps going. At first, the attention felt kinda nice, but now it's starting to get out of hand. I'm scared it might evolve into something... Dangerous?
Saying the last word, she raised her voice a little, making it sound like a question.
- Are you hunting tomorrow? - I asked after a moment, then once again looked at the ceiling.
I did it because she looked so damn hot, laying next to me, and I started to feel aroused, which could lead to a round number five, but I wasn't sure if she would be up for that since she already was looking tired.
- No, but I'm going the day after - she said.
? - Then how about I join you and your group? - I proposed. - I won't take any crystals, and I won't kill the guy, but maybe if he sees us together...
- Then he will finally understand the message - she finished for me, king interrupting my sentence.
- Yes - I agreed. - Otherwise, I might have to...
I sighed, making my words get a more ominous vibe, but in reality, I was just thinking of a proper word to use. Unfortunately, it came out so dark, that even Celestine picked herself slightly from the bed, to look me in the face. She was a bit shocked.
- Shake him a bit - I finished, making her return to the previous position. - I didn't mean anything else, I just was thinking of a word to use.
I had to clarify myself, because of her reaction. After all, I didn't want to spend my night tomorrow without her company.
- Y-you sure? - she still seemed to not fully believe me.
- Yes - I almost rolled my eyes. - Look... If he would put his hands on you, then we would have a different conversation, but if he is just bugging you, and nothing got out of hand, I'm not gonna touch him. I'm not gonna overreact. If we show up together, and he doesn't get the message, I'm just gonna say it to his face. If that doesn't work, then the two of us should talk about what to do next. What do you say?
- I can agree with that, but... Maybe I misunderstood, but the way you said it before had a very ominous video. Like you were going to murder him - she pointed out.
- The world I operate within is much more violent than yours, so sometimes I might come out like that because I just got too used to the dangers. We still don't know each other deeply, but I hope this will change. I like what we have here - I stated.
- I like it too... Show me your world, then maybe I will understand. - she proposed after a moment of silence.
- It's too dangerous. Let's... Let's just take things slowly, ok? We should e talking more. I really like talking with you. If we talk more, then we can understand each other better - I proposed.
- Ok. There will be a good chance if we spent a whole day together, the day after tomorrow - she agreed, slowly nodding.
- A trip together, that sound's nice - I pointed out. - I'm gonna make us some good food.
- That hardly will be a trip - she argued.
- With me around, it will be a trip. A walk through the woods. Trust me. As I said, different environments. For you, ad other starting hunters, the goblins might be a threat, but for me, they are nothing. I'll show you - I promised.
- Ok, mister braggart. We will see about that.
A chuckle left my mouth.
- Let's upgrade your hunting plan a bit, and go for the cave. I'll talk with Will...
