Chapter 870 T.D.O.N.B: Unsportsmanlike Behavior
I could feel everybody's gazes on my back as the words left my mouth. So, to add a bit of spice to the whole thing, I used a bit of 'Shadow fusion' enough that some smoke started to leave my body, but only briefly, as I quickly deactivated the skill.
Meanwhile, Celestine ignored the inappropriate gesture, which made half of the audience laugh, while the other half felt disgusted. She just took off again.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior - Matthew commented.
This time Luis allowed her to leave his range,w which she used to rise her sword into the air, to make the weapon glow with the fluid-like, white light. It then transformed into a much sharper form, covering only the edge of her blade.
After that she dived down, to go after Martinez, swinging her weapon heavily to cut him. He either dodged or blocked the attack, continuing his scheme to make her lose her composure. He definitely was stronger physically in his enraged state, and his instinct seemed to be top-notch, making his body move on its own, avoiding every attack.
The parrying he did was mostly unnecessary, but he added some to the exchange.
It lasted a couple of seconds, enough to underline his 'clear' superiority, which clearly was the goal. I humiliated him, now he wanted to humiliate my wife instead. I guess he didn't get the memo from Blue about people not to fuck with. Then I actually realized Blue no longer remembered my existence. It made me smile.
"The vengeance is near", I thought to myself. I almost chuckled too, barely preventing myself from doing that.
At the same moment, Celestine jumped back, and using her wings started flying close to the ground, and raised her sword, to then swing it in her opponent's direction. She was obviously too far to reach him, but it wasn't actually a melee attack. It was a ranged one.
A bunch of swords spawned in the air above her, and flew in the direction she pointed than at, raining like arrows, and forcing Martinez to avoid them by jumping away.
It got him a bit angry if in an enraged state that was even possible. He clearly could direct his fury quite well, since he could do what he did before, but now he channeled it all into battle.
He leaped forward, quickly reaching my wife, and struck with his fist.
Celestine covered herself with a shield, then swing the blade at him, hitting his arm, but again the armor was able to block it. Some sparks were struck, though, and he definitely felt it, as his revenge was an attack with the axe.
He struck horizontally, which was easy to avoid by ducking down. That's exactly what Celestine did, but she also used the opportunity to hit his leg.
This time her sword went through, cutting the flesh, and spilling a bit of blood on the sand. The wound was definitely a shallow one. Luis didn't leave any room for more than that. He kicked my wife in the stomach before she was able to do more. She was sent flying, but she utilized her wings to actually get more distance between them. Then she stayed in the air.
- An interesting beginning - Bruce pointed out. - The first blood was spilled, which isn't something we've seen this early so far.
- Yes. This might make both fighters go more serious sooner than we've seen so far - Matthew agreed.
Martinez let out a loud scream, proving me wrong. He actually was able to get even more furious. His skin started to change, it became darker, slightly going towards red. His eyes changed too, they became bloodshot.
Then he rushed at Celestine, but she didn't just stay in the same place, she went higher while retreating further away from him. She also once again raised her sword. This time, though, she used a different skill.
A bunch of swords started to appear around her with flashes of light, and they all were sent at her opponent.
The attack was too weak to pierce through his armor, but it annoyed the shit out of him by messing whit hos movement. He was slowed down and even forced to change his path, going more to the side, and not as he originally planned, in a straight line.
- You bitch! - he yelled at the top of his lungs.
Those were the first words that the speakers actually were able to pick upon. His fury increased to the point that his skin went even more towards the red, and then the dark tattoos started to slowly climb on the visible parts of his body.
He leaped into the air, crossing the distance between them, and swing his axe widely with incredible power. Celestine blocked it with her shield, but the attack sent her flying toward the stands protected by the barrier.
She was able to regain control and didn't smash into it, but the audience still got worried, and we could even hear a few screams of fear.
My wife flew away, while Luis landed heavily on the ground. He immediately started running after her, screaming at the top of his lungs.
- What a freak - Tihana said out loud.
I ignored her comment because I was too interested in the duel.
I have to admit that his speed was rather remarkable. Not the same type of speed, that involved agility, which my daughter and Satoshi Tanaka did, but rather a more simple one, focused only on the raw strength of his legs.
He fought up to her in less than two seconds, then leaped again to swing his axe at her. This time, though, Celestine saw through the attack and dodged it. He tried to twist his body and swing at her again, but he failed, which only made him look stupid as he fell down.
- Come down, you bitch! - he yelled.
She laughed at him, then raised her sword yet again.
- Yeah! Show that fucker, mom! - Tihana said.
Celestine began her transformation.
