Chapter 904 T.D.O.N.B: Waiting For The Signal, Part I
Sometime later, most of us seemed ready.
Will had on heavy white armor. It had a plastic-like texture to it, but also clearly some silver, metallic elements. The chest piece had a sword embroidered in the middle. The hands were heavily protected, just like the legs, under a thick layer of that mix of white and silver. He also had a cape. A heavy one, colored red.
He didn't have any weapon in his arms, but knowing his skill to summon those damn swords, he didn't really have to.
Next to him stood Hatta with a heavy breastplate on his torso, connected to a long robe, covering his legs all the way to the knees. Below there were just high boots. Just like the chest piece, they were media of metal and painted with crimson red. The shoulder pads had those hooked spikes, coming from the back all the way to the front. They looked similar to Ixa's long fingers to me.
They were black and at least partially responsible for protecting his neck. His head was covered by a deep hood, that was linked to a slim, slightly wider, at the bottom, cloak, which covered his back.
In the left hand, he had a golden staff with a red gemstone at the top, held in place by three hooked talons. The right one was armed with a scimitar. The blade was crimson red, the handle was golden, with an armguard shaped like a star.
Quite a fancy look, if you were to ask me.
Next to him was Nil. He had something quite as fancy on. The head and the torso were covered, partially, by a solid-looking piece made out of the hold. It looked like a lion's skin, with the head covering the top of his, leaving the mouth exposed. His forearms were protected by those heavy-looking bracers, seemingly assembled from pentagon-shaped plates put together into a non-flat surface.
From there, golden vines were spreading further, reaching all the way to his shoulders, providing some protection, but a lot of skin was poking for under the metal, which behaved much more like some kind of silicon would.
He also had black, kevlar pants, and high, heavy-looking, golden boots. On his fingers were golden knuckles with spikes. Each also had a short blade on the opposite side of the thumbs.
The next person was Ki'rai. Her plastic-like armor, was completely black, leaving only her lower jaw exposed. There were no decorations or anything else except two long daggers, or short swords dangling by her belt on each side.
They were slim, rectangle-shaped, with the top cut off at an angle, so she actually could stab with those. There seemingly was no handle. Just some leather wrapped over that place she was supposed to hold in her arms.
Only a single edge was sharp and able to cut. The substance they were made of weirdly looked like obsidian.
Next to her was Nobuo with his blue lamellar armor. As usual, it was Japanese-style, with a full-on helmet, and a demon mask covering his face. It had puffy cheeks and long curved teeth.
By his sides were two katanas, one on each side, and a wakizashi.
Then was Druoag, who actually took off the clothes from his torso. Despite that, he looked very menacing. Ready for a tough battle.
Further was Hailwic in a solid, modern-looking full-plate armor. Wearing a helmet. The whole thing wasn't fancy at all. It didn't have any decorations and wasn't even painted. A bare metal.
In complete contrast, the weapon she was using as a support, leaning heavily on it, looked very fancy. It was a double-edged, heavy axe. Each blade was a triangle, broad at the top, and narrow at the bottom, completely sticking to the metal pool working as a handle. It looked like a T with a spike on top.
Both blades were covered with runes, shaped in a circular pattern.
By her side, Martin was still not wearing anything and didn't have any weapons, but as my eyes landed on him, he stepped further away.
- Armory! - he said loudly when he felt like the distance from us was long enough. - Summon the armor.
As he spoke those words, out of nowhere, a weirdly-shaped piece of steel popped up flying at him. It slammed into his arm, sticking to it completely. After that, another piece came flying, and then complete chaos started. All around him, those parts were materializing from thin air, just to lunch themselves at him, very rapidly assembling on his body clearly into some type of armor.
Some even produced electrical discharges, as they linked to the other fragments.
He had to rise his legs one after the other, for the whole thing to assemble, but eventually, it did. It looked monstrous with broad, round shoulder pads, filled with short spikes. His spiked, kinda shaped like a crown, the helmet was astounded with a tall cooler, open at the front, protecting his neck.
The fragments on his arms had even more spikes popping up, with a grand escalation on the bracers protecting his forearms. The fingers were hidden under thick gloves forged from steel.
Both elbows, as well as both knees, had one single, short blade sticking out.
Then the last piece came, humming with vibration. The big ass, two-handed Morgenstern, that he grabbed with just one, then put resting on his shoulder.
- I can't top that - I confessed.
It earned me a few laughs.
- Just do your thing - Will said to me, shortly after everybody stopped chuckling.
- Ok - I said activating 'Shadow fusion.
My veins got filled with shadow essence, forcing my skin to turn grey, just as my eyes, lips, and hair turned black. At the same time, the essence started slipping into that world around me before it exploded, painting the whole vicinity black, rising the raging walls of wind blocking the horizon and obscuring the light pouring from the local star.
the darkness around us was moved by non-existing winds, swirling as if we found ourselves in a raging sandstorm.
