Chapter 108 Outsmarting Two Snipers. Who Dominates Whom?

“Perfect, right here.” Wang Yun declared, standing atop a building over ten stories high, surveying his surroundings with a smile.

This location was a fair distance from the city center, and it was the tallest structure around, offering the best vantage point. From here, Nancheng Bank was clearly visible.

He positioned himself at the staircase, waiting silently like a hunter anticipating his prey.

Boom! Boom! Boom! The sound of helicopter blades echoed. Catching a glimpse, Wang Yun swiftly hid himself.

In the program task force office, the five Captains grew visibly colder after viewing Wang Yun’s lip-reading on the surveillance.

“He’s quite bold, isn’t he? Is he trying to outrun us?”

“Wang Yun’s actions today are peculiar. He must be aware of our helicopter, yet he still is so brazen. What’s his plan?” Ying Yuezi wondered aloud.

“This uncertainty is indeed unsettling,” agreed Captain Wang Yue.

Wang Yun’s behavior today was out of the ordinary. Was it merely an act of retaliation against Nancheng Bank or a deliberate provocation?

“Handling helicopters isn’t all that hard. Just keep a few hostages close, and they won’t dare to strike,” Wu Yaoming remarked. “Still, Wang Yun’s actions are bafflingly unpredictable.”

“Ames, hack into the Nancheng Bank branch,” Wu Mingyu ordered thoughtfully.

Now, they were finally closing in on Wang Yun, but as the situation grew more critical, their caution intensified. They couldn’t afford any carelessness, having already witnessed Wang Yun’s terror firsthand.

“Yes, Captain, the bank’s internal surveillance has high-security protocols. It’ll take three minutes to hack into the system,” Ames reported to Wu Mingyu.

Bank surveillance systems differ from standard ones, requiring additional time for successful infiltration.

“Alright, start the hack. Our helicopters are on the scene. I suspect Wang Yun will soon make his move,” Wu Mingyu said, nodding. “This time they’ve only brought five people. The whereabouts of the other two remain unknown, which we need to watch out for.”

“We must indeed be vigilant. That man is dangerously cunning,” Kolyev concurred.

Kolyev’s demeanor had drastically changed from his initial arrogance, now thoroughly humbled by Wang Yun’s actions.

“We’ve arrived!”

At that moment, near the Jiuyunli branch of Nancheng Bank, the two brothers arrived on a motorcycle.

Dismounting, the elder brother’s keen eyes immediately swept the area to pinpoint a sniping location. After informing the task force, they headed towards a building that was the only perfect sniping position in the vicinity.

“The target has entered the bank,” Wu Yaoming updated them.

“Good, we’ve found a spot. The moment Wang Yun shows up, we can take him down with a headshot,” the confident voices of the two brothers resonated.

“If we manage that, victory is ours,” Wu Yaoming responded, nodding emphatically.

“Snipers, be cautious. Wang Yun’s two henchmen haven’t shown up yet. We suspect he might have a plan, so stay alert,” Wu Mingyu advised.

“No worries. As long as we don’t run into Wang Yun at close range, his men pose no threat to us,” they reassured.

For the sniper brothers, Wang Yun was the sole threat. They could easily handle his subordinates, even without their sniper rifles.

“Wang Yun’s height and build are unmistakable. It’s not his men in disguise. We’ve confirmed they’ve entered the bank,” Kolyev observed with a steely gaze. “If Wang Yun emerges, regardless of whether they have hostages, take him down immediately.”

“Understood!”

The brothers agreed after a brief moment of contemplation, their eyes reflecting a chilling resolve. “Rest assured, today we will end Wang Yun.”

The chief inspectors fell silent momentarily before nodding in agreement. “We trust you.”

The program inspection team and others had suffered greatly at Wang Yun’s hands. If there was a chance to eliminate him, they were willing to overlook other potential losses. It was a harsh reality, but taking out Wang Yun could save many lives.

“Sky Eagles, can you check for any anomalies above the snipers’ position?” Hao Jiancheng suddenly suggested from the side.

“Alright, Sniper team, are you targeting that tall orange building?” Sky Eagle immediately responded.

“Yes!” the brothers promptly confirmed.

Hovering above Jiuyunli Bank’s branch, a helicopter flew over the orange building, circling it for a brief period.

“No abnormalities detected, the rooftop is clear,” Sky Eagle promptly reported back to the snipers.

“Copy,” the brothers acknowledged and responded.

“How much longer for the rest of the team to arrive?” Wu Yaoming and the others watched the scene, nodding slightly. Caution and vigilance were paramount, especially as they neared success. Wu Yaoming picked up the communicator to ask.

“About three minutes,” the program officers driving toward the location replied.

“Good, surround all roads near the Jiuyunli Nancheng Bank branch, and block all exits and pathways,” Wu Yaoming commanded.

“Yes, Captain!” the program officers responded in unison.

“Their previous two robberies took about five minutes each. We’re already three minutes in, they’ll be coming out soon. They might not make it in time,” Wu Mingyu calculated, voicing his thoughts.

At that moment, Ames chimed in, “Captain, we’ve hacked into the bank’s surveillance. I’m projecting the footage on the screen.”

The five Captains immediately turned their attention to the projected images.

“Hurry, assembling the sniper rifle will take about a minute.”

Simultaneously, on a high-rise building next to the Jiuyunli Nancheng Bank branch, the two brothers, hearing the voice from the communicator, quickly made their way upstairs. They rode the elevator to the top floor, then headed towards the building’s roof.

“We need to be cautious,” one of them remarked as they eyed the staircase leading to the rooftop.

Gripping pistols, they ascended the stairs with agile steps.

At a turning point in the stairwell, concealed by walls, they proceeded with heightened alertness, unaware that Wang Yun was closely pressed against the wall at the bend. He listened intently to their footsteps, a slight smile appearing on his face.

His plan was working. The bait had been taken.

In the next instant, without any hesitation, Wang Yun sprang into action. With a silenced gun in hand, he fired.

Gunshot sounds rang out, catching the ascending brothers by complete surprise. They gazed in shock at Wang Yun, standing right before them, pistol in hand.

Wiping their foreheads, they shivered upon seeing the red marks. Their eyes were filled with unexpected fear and shock. They couldn’t fathom it. Wang Yun had been waiting right there for them.

How could he be waiting here for them? How was this possible? How did Wang Yun know to find them here?

Their minds were swirling with questions and confusion.

Their faces twisted with bitterness. They had sworn that today they would handle everything. As long as Wang Yun appeared, they were confident they could eliminate him. But now, with Wang Yun standing right in front of them…

“Ah, the wrong intelligence tied our hands,” the elder brother sighed, shaking his head in a mix of frustration and helplessness.

They hadn’t even had the chance to shoot before Wang Yun targeted and killed them. It was a consequence of flawed intelligence.

“Haha, you’re already dead,” Wang Yun said, a slight smirk on his lips. “My entire plan today was to hunt you down. Seems like my luck held out, and I succeeded.”

“What? All your actions today were to take us down?”

The brothers were taken aback, faces filled with shock.

“How did you know about us?” the younger brother blurted out.

“Were you on the rooftops around us yesterday?” The elder brother suddenly realized, fixing his gaze on Wang Yun.

“Yes, dead men can’t talk. Hand over your weapons,” Wang Yun said with a smile, reaching out his hand.

The sniper brothers, mouths agape, reluctantly handed over the sniper rifles strapped to their backs. In their minds, they were already dead.

Wang Yun took the sniper rifle, his eyes alight with excitement. A sniper rifle. a formidable weapon. Now possessing it, Wang Yun had acquired a terrifying new arsenal.

Slung with the sniper rifle, Wang Yun waved at the brothers and quickly descended. His mission for the day was accomplished. It was time to leave.

“???” josei

“Holy smokes, did Big Brother just take out two snipers? Was his entire purpose today to kill these snipers?”

“Is this??? The robbery at Nancheng Bank wasn’t about revenge? It was to target these two snipers? Wow, he actually did it!”

“Whoa, how can Big Brother be this terrifying? This twisted? Snipers came for him, and he lured them in just to take them out? That’s insanely scary!”

“666! Big Brother single-handedly overpowered the team formed to counter him. Now, with those sniper brothers gone, who’s countering who?”

“A day’s plan just to bait and eliminate the snipers. Big Brother is a master strategist, frighteningly brilliant!”

The livestream audience erupted upon witnessing this. Shocked and awestruck, they bombarded the chat with their reactions, their eyes glued to the scene.

Following yesterday’s dominance over experts Hao Jiancheng and Wu Hua, Wang Yun had now also taken down these two snipers. The task force formed to restrain Wang Yun was now left questioning.

Who was actually restraining whom?

Meanwhile, the viewers were utterly stunned by Wang Yun’s cunning strategy in luring and eliminating the snipers. His intelligence and control were terrifyingly effective.

“Huh?”

Yet, at that very moment in the program task force headqorters, the five Captains were unaware that Wang Yun had already taken out the sniper brothers. Their attention was focused on the surveillance feed from the Nancheng Bank branch in Jiuyunli, scrutinizing the screen.

Then, one of the Red Hacker Alliance members expressed surprise. He rapidly typed on the keyboard, his face etched with confusion.

“This isn’t good, the surveillance footage we’re watching has been tampered with.”

He suddenly stood up, exclaiming in alarm.

“What?”

His statement caused Wu Mingyu and the other captains to pause, turning towards him in bewilderment.

“The bank’s surveillance feed we’re observing has had extra footage inserted into it. Yes, look closely at Wang Yun’s image. Doesn’t something seem off?” the Red Hacker Alliance member was intently focused on the screen, his expression shifting.

In the footage, Wang Yun and four accomplices appeared to be conducting a robbery.

However, upon closer examination, Wang Yun was simply standing in front of the bank’s rolling shutter door, observing everything with an indifferent gaze. At first glance, this seemed normal, but a more meticulous observation revealed a subtle discrepancy between Wang Yun’s surroundings and the environment behind him.

“The internal surveillance of Nancheng Bank has been compromised. The footage we’re seeing seems doctored,” exclaimed two young members of the Red Hacker Alliance.

“Damn, what’s going on? What exactly did Wang Yun do?”

“What is he planning now?”

This unexpected turn of events and the abrupt revelation caused the pupils of the five captains–Wu Mingyu, Kolyev, Wu Yaoming, Wang Yue, and Ying Yuezi–to constrict slightly.

A sense of foreboding filled their hearts, stirring unease within them. It appeared they had once again fallen into a trap, plunging into another terrifying scenario.
